Instead that utterly crap footballer Fletcher was starting!

WHY O WHY?

Jesus christ. Fletcher is going to be an excellent player. Look at the FA Cup Semi final against Arsenal where he dominated Vieira and you're calling him "utterly crap" ? He was pushing Keane for a starting position last season and rightly so in my opinion. He's pretty crap on the wing, but he's impressed me a lot in the middle.

Yeah, Fletcher is going to be a big name at Old Trafford, and I agree, he plays better in the middle.

I hope spector does keep his place, he's impressed me from what i've seen of him so far, i think he deserves to be given a run :)

And silvestre, man, hes a good player but lately hes been awful :|

He needs to give him a rest or something cause atm he isnt cutting it.

And fletch is definately a good player, he improved more throughout last season and i agree he plays better in the middle ;)

P.S Whooo rooney :D

We have a ready made replacement for G.Neville in Jonny Spector. He's quick, tough as nails and can only get better.

Silverstre is a superb player. He needs to be partnering someone who is calm and assured and that person is Rio.These days, hes always been changing partners in the middle of defence so,the consistency goes out the door.Wait till Rio comes back, they will compliment each other superbly I tell you. With Rio back,he can continue to dribble his way out of defence and launch those missle long passes of his, knowing in his mind that Rio will always be coverin his ass.Cheers.

well why would you want spector to play RB when we have neville? and when rio comes back... my preferred backline would be:

---------------howard----------------
neville----rio----oshea---spector

Just a thought, but with Spector's solid defense, quickness and ability to move forward with the ball with confidence, do you think that maybe his best position would be to play DMF, where he could be a giant in the transition game, like Viera or Diop?

I have only seen him play 5 times, but he seems like he can really create mismatches when given the opportunity to get forward.

well, i guess that could be an alternative, for when keane is out, he can fill in. but we still have fletch and kleber there to fill that role, but imo neither is as agile as spector. another way to look at it would be when both scholes AND keane hang up their boots, thats when we have two midfield positions vacant. i can see spector bumping kleber for that position.

but for the time being, i think the young americans plans are to just hold up the flanks

ROONEY HAS SIGNED! £30 million in total, and he will wear the number 8 shirt, on a 6-year deal. Time to celebrate! :D 8) :D

With the money United have, and all the years football we will get out of Wayne Rooney, I think its a good deal. We paid £30 million for Ferdinand, so we cant give Everton less - its a good day for United fans, a sad one for the Scousers, but fuck it, we got the best young English player in the Premiership! :D

no not for united, they are the richest sports club in the world, $30 million is not alot f money for the likes of united... do you know how many t-shirts there gonna sell in the next week...... posters.... etc....

the deal isnt £29.85M straight to Everton though is it

Rooney should be a great signing, bags of potential

just who will Fergie pick now upfront ? its hard one

where did you hear about him being no 8, i havent heard anything about his number

i saw him with the shirt on mutv.

he was getting his pictures taken with no.8 on the back.

well i guess its good to have a big transfer once in a while coming our way. i just dont want to see this 30 mill transfer go to waste, i mean veron was shite and he came for a hell of a lot more (??)

lets hope he gets off on the right foot and can lead us to several trophies.

veron was 28 million.

rooney is only 18 and the deal has a potential of 30 million!

spector is both footed and i doubt heinze is faster.. however heniz is a toughman, spector is for the future anyways...

yea, its good to know that we have a dependable replacement if heinze is fatigued or injuried. i say this because fergie has high expectations for the argentinian, and he knows spector is there for the long run...

How's Rooney's foot healing? Another month or so before starting? I'm so excited to see how he and Ruud do...both he and Smith couldn't ask for a better mentor to learn the ropes!

On a side note, is anyone else worried now that Ruud's been off injured for so long (end of last season, now), hes just married and also has so many other strikers, will his desire fall? I figure (unlike whoever programmed WE8, bastards two seasons in and hes falling fast!) hes got a good few years left.

Can't wait to see United at fall strength..once again a team to take on Europe...hopefully

i dont think so. i think he will use the threats of smith, saha and rooney's arrivals as a motivation and turn it into some valuable football. this was the mistake diego forlan made. once ole, saha, and smith arrived, he never proved to SAF that he was worthy to become a number 2 man behind ruud.

what is it with players turning there back on the clubs they've supported all there lives to join united

Shrek_Rooney_135967a.jpg

so its ok for sol campbell to move from spurs to arsenal, but not for rooney to move from everton to manchester united?

he has been given an opportunity to play for a huge club and to better himself on and off the pitch.

its only football, not war.

[Doesn't Scholes wear 8?[/quote]

Nope scholes wears number eight for england,it was nicky butthead who use to wear number 8 for Utd.

Doesnt anyone else think that us Man utd shouldve bought Brazilian Lucio for 8mil from levekusen?he is tall strong and fast in CDF and would have been a good partner for rio! its too late bayer munich were smart enough to buy him on the cheap
