Manchester United Thread

Well he does work down 't pit for 20 hours per day, 7 days a week! At least thats the impression I get reading his posts. ;) They must have great wifi down there though.

To be fair, it's about time we started getting easy draws in the FA Cup.

What is it, something like four years since we'd played a non Premiership team before Yeovil? Leeds at Old Trafford in 2010?

To be fair, you are Man Utd so not many draws are actually that unkind are they?

You'd think so but we never beat anyone convincingly do we? Chelsea and City do but we can't ever seem to manage that, been that way since at least 2009.

Just ridiculous that it's taken this long though. The other big clubs usually get one or two easy ties early on every season but we always got Prem teams.

Good! Ha ;)

Signing a foreign GK and chucking a local youth team lad

DISGRACE! etc etc.

Do Man City have ANY local talent playing for them? I cant think of any.

Anyway back to topic, cant believe WHINGER MISSED THIS OPPORTUNITY!

Man U now have TWO better goal keepers than Arsenal and Liverpool, how many do they need??

So fed up, someone wake me up when Wenger is gone.

I liked Lindgaard, sad to see his career end with us. He'd be a great keeper for Liverpool or Arsenal too. I always felt that Amos never got the chance with us but how many top teams actually give chances to their academy goalkeepers apart from Casillas and Valdes from way back when?? Almost all top teams purchase proven keepers now and the young ones don't even get a chance.

I think your vastly over rating him, he's OK as a number 2 but don't think he's ever had the talent to be a number 1 at a top 6-7 side.

Valdes is a good signing but that's obviously with some worry about De Gea, he's a phenomenal and we can't afford to lose him to Real. I suspect though he'll sign a new deal with us but I think we'll struggle to keep him post that next extension.

Ahhh..RvPs c*nt side is back...yelling at Dowd and throwing the ball away lol. Lucky he didn't get booked.
Little annoying tho seeing Southampton players dropping to the ground left and right.

Thought Soton defended very well but Utd were slow and too conservative. Too much hoofball too. Fonte n co eat that up for breakie

Should have got a draw tho. That Mata chance...

Thought I'd pre-empt the amusing stat that LvG has gained the same amount of points as Moyes but with less goals.

They said the same with Rodgers and Hodgson....

It's like a nasty shart! 0 shots on target  That Mata misses though?! :CONF:

If, Mata get them chances next week he`ll bury them :)

Is it only me or does anyone else see what the fuss is about Luke shaw? Would expect by now to have seen a little spark of the talent he supposedly had. Miss Evra more each day

Like LVG's honesty and his pedigree but if he persists in the 352 I'd like him to take all that and go retire. How he can possibly think we're better with this abomination of 'tactics' I'll never know.

We're conceding chances, stupid goals all without having enough players forward to create anything ourselves. We've literally had 1 good match with 3-5-2 since he took over, and yet he persists.

1 shot on target in an entire match of football, combined (!), we've truly reached sh*t on a stick levels of 'tactical nous'.

Sort of credit to Southampton, but they were incredibly lucky to win that match, deserved a draw and played with 0 ambition and some ridiculous time wasting. Would wager a large amount on Forster having the most possession of any player in the 2nd half.

Possession football is dead. Boring teams to death like Barca did for 3 years only worked because they had the best player in history who could literally create something out of nothing. To win at the highest level you need a direct threat, an option that teams have to fear committing forward.

This United team should be fine and functional, but LVG is neutering it. I just don't understand. Di Maria is best in a deeper role, stick him up top. Rooney is better up top, move him deep. RVP can't lead a line alone, so ask him to.

Back 4. Midfield 3 of Carrick, Herrera and Fellaini (you know, the midfielders in the team). 3 of RVP, Rooney, Di Maria, Falcao, Janujaz or Mata. Jobs done.

I think LVG is trying to prove he's smarter than everyone else, and it appears he isn't.

Why do so many people call Januzaj 'Janujaz'? Did you make a typo? Because for some reason I see a lot of people calling him that.
