Moyes said that Chelsea paid 24 mil for Drogba, and that if Newcastle want Rooney they better much higher than that. Talk about exaggerating.
I really hope that we don't have to go above 20 mil, that's just an outrageous price as it is.

We wont get Rooney unless we offer £25 million. Simple. We paid £30 million for Ferdinand, so Moyes will make sure he can sell his best player at the best price.

Silvestre is a decent player, I'll give you that. I'm not suggesting he's crap or anything, just that I personally wouldn't call him 'cutting edge'.

Same goes for your side really. I certainly don't think you're crap, but I just can't understand why a lot of United fans are harbouring genuine title pretensions. I just don't think you have the players to win it, so I guess we'll have to acquiesce on this one. Who knows, maybe I'll be left looking silly come May. :)

I don't see anything wrong with Moyes' logic there. Do you really think that Didier Drogba is as good as Rooney even now, let alone in five years' time? I certainly don't.

Problem is though that Drogba's price was hugely inflated by the fact that Chelsea don't seem bothered about paying well over the odds.

teams like Chelsea really ruin the concept of money well spent and how players look at their price...sigh

yet, Ronney won't leave until someone pays 30m pounds...or else, rumour says that the manager will be fired...lolz

I dont spread rumours only reports and this one seems interesting.Santiago Solari anyone??? He's 27,not cup tied I belief, technically gifted, left footed winger, scores goals and most importantly is a more classy player than the cover we have for giggs at the moment if you consider Ronaldo to be more efficient on the right.

Report here.

Phrase, you clearly started a rumour that Newcastle is in fact located in the South of England, and everyone who had previously thought it was situated in the North-East is a trenchant buffoon.

PS. If anyone's wondering exactly where Newcastle is these days, come off junction 6 of the A14 between Ipswich and Cambridge.

Hahahaha, pardon me,I think i misquoted myself.I just had to say that Rooney wanted to stay up north and totally forgetting where Newcastle was, pardon me lads...go on now...cheers~

we actually have a quite easy group (luckily) we should win these matches and come out first in our group...but the other three teams might have to fight harder to be second...

of course, unless we have some bad luck...

Anyone have a clip of Smiths goal against Norwich? Seriously want to have a copy of that one!

Who do u think the first choice strikers will be if they get Rooney? Van Nistlerooy playing a bit head of Rooney? Or keep Saha and Ruud together? And what of Smith? It'll be a great day when these are Sir Alex's problems, rather than having noone to choose from

considering man u have one the title 8 times in the last 11 or so years its not exactly hard to understand why they have genuine title aspirations. saying you dont think theyll win it is one thing but saying you cant understand why they might have that opinion doesnt exactly suggest that you are particularly open minded ... or that you even know a lot about football.

personally i dont think theyll win it but considering there history as a team, ferguson and the several top class players they have its extremely easy to understand why they have title aspirations.

History wins nowt though mate, they have a strong team but compared to 3 or 4 seasons ago its weak

Who the hell are you gonna drop if you get Rooney!
Smith and Saha on the bench?
Fancy lending us one of them ;)

Can you imagine if we are ever behind in a match and Fergie throws all four on.
Imagine what the opposition's defence would feel like when trying to mark them.

And what are your thoughts on the team we played against Dinamo Bucharest? Spector was solid in defence and I thought Kleberson did some great long passes and crosses. He could turn out to be a good freekick/corner taker for us.

What he said.

The season has only started. So much could happen in that time. And its not fair to comment on the team when half of it is missing. I know I'm biased but once we have our full team back, we would be a different side compared to what we are now. We have already scored enough goals this season WITHOUT Saha and Ruud. Imagine how much of a attacking threat we would be with them back. Why don't you take out 5 of Arsenal's starting 11 and see how well they play.
IMO, This is one of United's strongest teams ever. We have 2 great Keepers, over 5 good defenders, loads of midfielders, and 3 great strikers too (4 if Rooney joins).
If you think we're a weaker side, in what way are we weak?

I feel sorry for Bellion he is pants yes but he will have 2 much pressure as 'Rooneys' replacement and not even he deserves that!

This is definitely not one of United's strongest teams. When Cantona, Beckham, Cole, and Yorke were around Utd were much stronger. In what areas are you weak? Tons. Keane and Giggs are getting old, who's their replacement? And Utd fans overrate their defenders too much, who in reality other than Rio no one's above average.

cantona and yorke where never in the same team, but if you are refering to the period i.e 96-99-2000 i can understand your point

i dont agree with your point on giggs he still performs at a very high level for us and still frightens defenders but i will concede that keane is sadly past his prime and about their replacements? tbh thats a real issue we have to deal with sooner rather than later.....

i actually agree with your point on our defence and also think rio is our only geniune class defender. i havent seen much of heinze so hopefully when he eventually returns he will tighten up our back line.

....the biggest point form is, that we come back to strong british players, with british attitiude ! a good mix with some foreigner ! not like the scums from chelski and arsenal....with rooney we've got a the best ENGLISH side...

cheers

Poor Bellion. I REALLY REALLY think that Everton are pushing it. Unforetunately, United will probably 25 mil + Bellion. Plus, we'll probably look like fools when and if Rooney doesn't make an immediate impact.

Wayne Rooney handed in his transfer request at Everton. Some quotes from the man himself suggesting that he favours United ahead of Newcastle.

'This has been one of the hardest decisions of my life but I feel the time is now right for me to move forward with my career,' Rooney said today.

'The Euros were a fantastic experience for me, it made me realise I could play at the highest level.

'To do that I need to be with a club that is playing in Europe every year. I hope the Everton fans can come to understand my decision and I hope the transfer fee Everton Football Club receive will help the club move forward.
