Manchester United Thread

Van Gaal has joined, so I would say "the ego has landed".

Great post.

His reaction after the loss against Argentina ?
I teached Romero how to stop penalties when he was at AZ.

Romero himself: stopping penalties is luck.

I have double fellings about Van Gaal, he has done fantastic things (winning the CL with Ajax, winning the league with AZ and what he did with Bayern) but has also had failures (not going to the WC with Holland in 2002).

I also wonder how he will react to the English press and vice versa...could be a match in hell (or heaven).

Ego and bit of confidence is apart of our club one of the main things that Moyes lacked was that!

'Not Arrogant, Just Better' :SMUG:

Van Gaal tearing strips off Geoff Shreeves is gonna be one of the funniest things.

I hope he scars him so much he retires from public life, the insufferable cunt.

"He is going to be a fantastic manager in the Premier League," Wenger told beIN Sports.

"I liked how the decisions he made were clear, how the timing of his decisions were always right and in my opinion it was the right decision every time.

"I am sure that Manchester United will be competitors this year for the championship and that will be more interesting.

I think no one is favourites...no one. The reset button was clicked!

-----Carrick-----
-Herrera--Vidal--

Just Saying.

I think it would be more likely to be Herrera and Vidal as two DM's behind one of Number 10's, Mata would be good to see.

--Herrera----Vidal---
--------Mata---------
----RvP----Rooney---

Just sounds glorious to my ears, Ofc we will miss the genius of Cleverley.

Those formations are pipe dreams.

Herrera and Vidal are runners/box to box player, they need cover just like a Busquets would for Xavi/Iniesta or Alonso did for Modric/Di Maria.

We can play 5 at the back, c'mon where's your sense of adventure ;)

Though I completely agree with you, but hey my FIFA Ultimate Team is starting to look beautiful :P

Based on LVG at the WC

-----------------De Gea
Rafael--Jones--Smalling--Evans--Evra--Shaw
----------------Herrera

-------------------RVP

Not just saying this because I support Juve but I think it's a bit deluded for United fans to think they'll get Vidal. Hope I don't have to eat my words.

I kind of agree. Unless Serie A is joining League Un as unofficially 'not a big league', then why would Vidal leave?

He has a new contract
His team is likely to win the league
He's in the CL
He's a definite starter

I'm not sure I see the motivation to move to United in this case.

Also - @ the adidas deal. 75m a year. A YEAR. We could wipe our debt out in a matter of seasons now.

If we did that an you extrapolate our general profit levels out, we could realistically spend almost 100m GBP per year on new/improved contracts and transfer fees. Of our own money. It could be sugar daddy spending without the sugar daddy reliance.

God I hope a salary cap comes in before then. It'll be obscene. Not sure I can support that. Already feels icky given the reasonably ludicrous spending over the last 12 months.

The United deal is insane but the fact that adidas will hold all merchandising and marketing rights compensates. United won't earn anything from sold merchandise.

How in the world will Adidas take a profit from that. If United had some bad seasons, and the "fans" start moving to other teams Adidas will go trough a rough time.

Probably still the most in the league and I'd wager will this year too.

United (and Liverpool) are the two biggest clubs in the country and will always sell a silly amount of shirts regardless of what happens on the pitch.

I don't think we need to make anything from the actual sales though given just how large the deal is every year.

So, it looks as if Daley Blind will also join Man Utd.
That is a widespread rumour in Belgium and Holland.
Good player.

He was brilliant against Spain, good against Chile but then kind of quiet for the rest of the tournament imo (I know he scored against Brazil).

Does he play left back for his club, or left midfield?

Finally, wonder how bad his injury was. Didn't look good :(

Think he plays as a defensive midfielder, which means he will be very useful to us with Carrick not being in top form.

I'll be happy if it happens.
