But surely he will be making more money? Wouldn't be surprised if we will start seeing more of that, where image rights stay out of the club finances (or atleast wage bills) but are structured in such a way that they still go to the player to increase their wages.

Is Nani being sold? I thought he signed a new contract this season?

Finally, you mentioned our wage bill being up - but we also had significantly more profits, and a record quarter for revenue. Before the new kit deal. So we're actually in surprisingly good health, all considering. That's hte worst bit. If on the field success was truly crucial to the Glazer's profits, then we'd prioritise that. But it's not, not really. The 4th place trophy is all we really need.

One more highlight from the call/report - it was confirmed Rooney's new deal was slightly less than his old one, at about 230k. Which is obviously still obscene, but shows oyu just how reliable the UK papers are. Pretty much every single one said it was a huge increase.

Doubt bonuses are included as the wage bill for the last 3 months was 53.4m. Depends how bonuses are paid I guess. They're usually limp sums

Our wage bill will probably be lower if anything. We finally got rid of the likes of Adebayor, Bridge, Santa Cruz, Kolo last summer, who will have been on more than the reported 75k for the new signings. Plus, the payoffs for the last management team should be off the books.
With that said, we'll have bonuses to pay either at the end of the season or next season as well.

So RvP expected to captain United under VG, not too pleased if true, RvP is a pissy shit at the best of times - especially last year.


Also a lot of tal re: Shaw for 25m, stupid money but if it gets the talent in, then right now we should just bite the bullet (even if sets a horrible precedent) would love to see some of the Germans links come true as well, Kroos would be a dream.

TheJinxed one, he was unhappy this year but to be fair it was difficult to ever really be optimistic considering our situation and yet he remained professional and never slagged off the manager publicly.

18 in 28 as well as the hattrick at OT against Olympiakos which probably kept Moyes in a job for another month.

more importantly than that, we saw season prior what a happy RVP can do :D

Not sure where you heard that Bobby? In all honesty we don't have much of a selection.

Van Persie, Rooney and Rafael are the three candidates considering whose guaranteed to start and has some leadership qualities.

He's Dutch Captain under LvG so he knows what he's getting and both seem to get on really well.
 
I don't think we lack leaders in the squad but not many are in the first team, I mean had Jones cemented himself in defence he'd be up for consideration, so would Evans.

Personally I would sell RVP, Rooney showed last year that he is willing to fight for any manager in any circumstance. RvP showed that he is willing to get pissy for any manager in any circumstance, as good as he is I don't like him and I won't like him any more when he scores.

Also I don't rate Smalling, terribly overrated CB. Much prefer Evans in at CB, and Carrick was dismal last year and can't see how he would warrant a starting place. Then again, we can always use Cleverley.

some talk of us being in the race to sign Sagna from Arsenal. I'd be happy with that! him and Rafael fighting it out for RB would be perfect, especially since Rafa's fitness record.

Would cover us nicely at RB.

I am furious. We should have signed up Van Gaal as SOON as we got rid of AVB instead of messing around with Tim Nice But Dim!

Man Utd will be back now, this is the beginning. Some of the players you are being lined up with - exciting times for you :(
