Fergie said he wants to concentrate on the league mroe than the champions leauge so how is the game tonight more important? :-k

the game tonite is way more important than the 1st game of the season regardless of whether we play chelsea or norwich, its unthinkable that we wont qualify for The CL, everythng else doesnt matter right now.....

If we dont qualify for the champions league,it will a bleak season for us,not just for the team, but for the whole PLC Board and our revenues. The Champions League is a huge money pot and if big teams like ourselves,Chelski and them Goons arent in it,we will be losing out to the other top teams from the world. Geddit Sulph?

yeah....usually they say the first game decides ur season, but not really...there are lots of time left to prove us back!!! remember 2 seasons ago!!! how we came back and won it!!!

but the Champions League is more important, if we don't qualify, i doubt we still have the mood to play the league...sigh

It was just like how Fergie puts it,a great, pure attacking game.United won on the night too 4-3.Ronaldo was just at his menacing best,3 great shots on target and Becks came on,his last United game ever and scored a curling freekick that left Casillas stranded and a toepoke.Ronaldo got a Theather Of Dreams, standing ovation after he was replaced.A great game that I'll never forget.

It wasn`t Beckham`s last game for United. His last game at Old Trafford was against Charlton (I was there, we beat them 4-1) and his last game in the red shirt was against Everton, where we lifted the title.

Just a few more days until we meet. We are the favourites since you are plagued with Injuries and Olympics related crap. But i dont know, your defence is quite weak now and we have strikers that want to prove themselves for their first team spots. Its going to be an interesting game.

Well sulph obviosuly for us tonite is the most important game of the week.

Yeah we're weak but theres quite alot in the the team that would be playing anyway so we'll be okay, we usually do okay at yours and the pressure is gonna be on you's to win so we'll see how the chips fall.

TBH in the our current state I'd rather play you's on the first game than the last cos if you beat us now apart from hurting our pride its not gonna matter come next May.
i disagree vann, from what i have seen of the prem every game matters.... if united had not lost to lowly portsmouth, and fulham would they even need to play this qualifying game?

Yeah but thats not one defeat it was the 9 we lost last year that have left in this position.

im not saying that it doesnt matter at all but think about it...

three points can be pulled back in the league but once you get disqualified from The CL thats it...

Prediction for tonight Vann?

I watched them play zilina on mutv last week and they didnt look anything special but as its United 1st ever game in Romania I expect them to be well up for it. The home ground is terrible and that would have been to their advantage, its been moved to the national stadium but after the storms it might be as bad.

I think we've got enough quality to win but ya never know.

I'm going for a 1-0 United score and we'll give them a hiding at OT !!

LMBO!!

LMAO! That was good . . . I might put a fiver on actually, I can do it online . . . .

I'd like us to win, but I also don't mind a high scoring draw.

Also, whats the latest with these Wiltord rumours?

Hahahahah, has anyone else seen the video concerning the bomb threat today/last night whenever it was? It's fucking hilarious. I'll get a link up in a minute.

Miller finally got a game. He wasn't too bad either.
But our team is starting to look far too weak to stand a chance against Chelsea. I hope we have players back by then. We're having to many problems when defending counter attacks like we did today.

that clip is awesome hutch fair play, LOL!!!

well happy with the result tonight tbh, especially as we are a little depleted atm. Smith is looking a really great purchase so far and has fitted right into the team perfectly.

Finally we got a glimpse of Liam Miller and I have to say he looks decent enough and could play either on right or center.Djemba Djemba was superb again partnering with O'Shea, who looks sluggish in midfield, still thinks he'd play better as a fullback.Alan Smith battled the whole match while Giggs got that comeback goal.Superb result bearing in mind playing in that culdron full of 55000 romanians, chanting DINAMO-DINAMO-DINAMO.

Just the result we needed last nite, apart from the 1-0 against PSV at OT thats our first proper win since The Cup Final.

Bit of a disjointed formation and with the likes of Fletch only playing 40 mins football it took a awhile for most of them to find their feet but once we settled it was a matter of time before we scored.

Oshea looked okay in midfield, covered alot of ground and his passing was decent enough.

Keano was alrite in defense but its not ideal IMO, Scholsey was his usual self in midfield his passing and awareness was first class, could have had a goal aswell

Djemba is getting better and better, another season and he could grow into a class act.

Fortune worked his socks off but he aint a full back IMO.

Smith did his best on his own, took a few digs for the team and generally played well, could have been a bit better infront of goal and was a bit unlucky to not score.

Giggsy was his usual menacing self, could have had a hatrick, plenty of life left in the old dog yet, his 14th season for United by the way!!!

Gotta mention young Miller, he was great when he came on, he gave his first pass away but after that he proved a more natural right sided player than young Fletch, he put a lovely cross in that Scholes should have left for Smith and drilled in the pass that made the own goal, a few other little Miller moments was one of the best point about the game, looking forward to seeing more of him.

So all in all, apart from some catastrophe and Dinamo beating us 2-0 at home we should sail thru now...

So its on to Chelsea!!!

Good result boys, the 2nd leg should be a formality now. Miller looks to be a good signing although obviously one for the future.

Am I seing things, Butatista giving a positive post in here , !!! ;)
just kidding, cheers pal

Did anyone hear that Fergie would like to get some more players in to ease the long-long injury list ?

Nah Batigols okay, so fair play to him...

Yeah Fergie wants some more cash but the CEO is on his hols.

IMO theres no one out there to buy anyway and if they was they would be just bump up the price cos they know we#re thin on the ground at the mo.

Its best to just make do tll everyone gets back.
