Manchester United Thread

0-2 after 52 minutes in the first match of the season and Wellbeck has scored the first of his 20 + goals. This against a very good opponent.
Two things are clear: this will be Wellbeck's season and Moyes knows what he's doing. Whoever wats to win the league has to be better than United.

Not convinced both goals were shabby, and Welbeck is still showing us he's the useless striker we don't need with some of his poor decision making.
Moyes has us playing boring football, where the only forward advances we've made are 50 yard long passes, which we aren't benefiting from at all.

In 9 games time.

And a third goal of actual quality.

I have no words...

Fergie loved using Welbeck, the England Manager loves using Welbeck and now Moyes has similarly backed him, how is that not proof of his qualities? Edit: Though he can certainly improve and I've little doubt he will.

As for Moyes having us playing boring football, so did Fergie recently and we've not yet finished 1 competitive game.

Lol

Lovely cheeky finish by Welbeck there! Gerd might be right on him this season. Only a player with confidence plays a lob like that.

he saw the famous Manchester United turned up and went all limp

:SMUG: Business as usual.

Have always said, Welbz is the most talented non-striker in England. If he can start adding goals like today, he really could be team of the year material. Has everything else in his game.

Intwesting body language from Rooney. Actually played pretty well, and two assists to boot.

We'll sell him next Tuesday.

#7 - The second coming of Crist, Madball.

were not selling Beach, he can go in a years time when were bringing in a big name anyway.

I suspect that was the plan for this summer but it didn't work out.

Wouldn't surprise me if Chevvy and Nike are working together to make it happen for next season when Aon disappears from the game kits! *keeping the faith*

also i read rumors that van perise would switch to #9.

but he stayed with his old #20.

That rumor started near the end of last season but was quickly refuted by Robin himself..saying he did not want to make fans have to buy new shirts bc of a different number. Classy!

It would be interesting if that did happen. Certainly if Nike and Chevrolet do bankroll a signing like that I can see clubs like PSG, Monaco and City using it as a blueprint to bypass FFP.

For instance Qatar airways could bank-roll signing Suarez or Wilshire on behalf of PSG, Etihad for City. Clubs could even create their own kit manufacters (as to a degree Liverpool and Wigan have) and use this as a conduit to sign players outside of FFP.

That's true, but there's no way PSG or Monaco are going to meet FFP at the moment anyway. I think it's dead in the water.

I thought City were going to, but then they splashed out another 100m this summer, but I believe they lowered the wage bill quite a lot, so at lesat moving in the right direction.

Monaco is the mental one though. No fans, no stadium income, no huge tv money but huge signings and wages.
