Manchester United Thread

This has to be THE match the players get their acts together with. It is the chance to seal the trophy in front of your own fans (and for Van Persie, march back into the Emirates and be a champion).

Let's hope that we don't get complacent again, and really just finish off in style. Then we'd have an early summer to prepare for the next season and give fringe players more playing time and experience (an audition for new clubs or more playing time next year)

Yup. If they can't get up for this one, than lord help us. Just hope Fergie doesn't get all sentimental and start Scholes and Giggs in the midfield or something equally baffling.

I think Villa will score, but we should score more.

Oh great, Giggs in central midfield. For the sweet love of God Fergie...

---------------DDG------------
--Rafa----Jones---Evans--Evra-
----------Carrick-Giggs-------
--Valencia---Rooney---Kaga----
--------------RVP-------------

At least that's what I'd imagine. With Fergie who knows, maybe Jones and Rooney in midfield, Carrick at CB and Kagawa up front...

The football we've played this half is as good as any I've seen all season. Magnificient to see, just wonderful flowing football.

And that goal, the pass and the volley!!!!

If you give Rooney time in midfield, he's pretty handy. Dunno what was up with him at West Ham, but he's been MOTM for me, despite RVP scoring a hat trick.

IT'S COMING HOME!

ROFL at Evra picture.

20th title secured by no.20 with a hat trick. Helll he even played the role of goalie tonight with those two clearances.
That 2nd goal was one of the best I've ever seen. Dunno if I'd rate it ahead of the equalizer at west ham in the fa cup though. Phenomenal ball control.

Fantastic for the club, and have to say just how humble RvP was ar the end of course its expected of players to say its a team game etc but he truly seemed to think that was true and his words were honest.
That second goal was, well, wow.

Od course Giggs should have called it a day after the assist for the first goal.. I don't remember seeing him do anything except that poor challenge on the half way line and skip past that full back once. Of course I spend most of the game comparing Paul Lambert to 300 day old scrotum scrapings so god knows what I missed.

Also Rooney was very good in that midfield role again today and even though this season hasn't been his best he has managed to score or assist 22 goals in 25 premier league games. Not a bad return.

Of course we can look forward to seeing United play out the season with the foot firmly off the gas and just playing football with no pressure.

Yeah Rooney was pretty solid again. Beautiful pass of course.
BC they are pro footballers I'd like to think however that they won't take the foot off the gas entirely for a few reasons;

-try and break Chelsea`s total point record
-RvP will probably want to kick in a few more to ensure the golden boot will be out of reach for any other players.
-De Gea to get some more clean sheets
-Rooney to bang in some more to shut up the critics
-Impress the ladies

Great being there tonight. Atmosphere in the Stretford was brilliant all night and I've now got no voice left.

RVP was magic all night but that second goal is something I'll cherish. There was a moment of sheer disbelief amongst everyone around us when it went in and then we all went insane.

Shinji showed us what Shinji is. Fantastic first touch, vision, dribbling, passing, etc. He's going to be immense next year.

Feels wonderful to be champions once again and now can't wait for the guard of honour in front of the Arsenal fans next week.

Best part of the game was to see all the comradery after the game. Can hate SAF all you want but he knows how to create real team spirit.

And PS Mat..I hate you in the most loving of ways. Wish I could've been there. You're a lucky man indeed! :))

Great to finally be champions again and can say good bye to the nightmares from last season that has haunted us all for 11 months.

You wonder if Van Persie chose the number 20 on purpose for this day?? haha. And great celebrations of a team level...didn't think Evra really needed that "hand", but I guess he really doesn't like Suarez to bring that into a celebration.

are league form has been phenomenal if you just look at the table, im not sure how we've managed it but its been close to a perfect season in that respect.

Just a shame the Madrid 2nd leg took a lot out of us because we should have probably progressed in one of the cups.

So Lewandowski then!

Not sure how we would fit him in if he came and what ramifications it could have for other players (Rooney or Hernandez).

Is he too good to miss out on or his SAF just got his Transfer Muppet hat on?

Yeah but I think when it comes to signings club's are ahead of what you read, he's probably very close to signing for whoever his next club is.

I don't think its done either way because we had scouts watching him last night. I hope that scout got a good look at Gundogan :...

Lewandowski's agent came out a while back and said his future is already sorted with another club, and it's all agreed. He ran down his deal at Dortmund to enable him to move, it seems.

I don't think it's us, personally.

Great player, but so not what we need it's funny. If we want an out and out goal scorer, play Hernandez ffs.

Also not sure about this whole move Rooney seamlessly into a midfielder thing. I know that Scholes had a similar career path, but Scholes ability on the ball has always been better than the Roons, not convinced Wayne can handle the pressure you get in the middle of the park. It's fine when he loses it up front by taking risks, but it'll be hard to get that out of him.

Would much rather we get Rooney signed on a new contract, appease Hernandez and actually sign a midfielder.

The way I see it we need a top class winger, it's been painful watching the lot this year. I think we've seen in the last 3-4 weeks how Kagawa has slowly worked his way into the role of inside left winger (which most expected him to end up) and that looks to be working fine.

We need someone on the right, seen a left footer who played a great pass with the outside of his foot and scored from that side too, would do nicely ;))
