Manchester United Thread

If Chelsea would have won that way, i would have felt exactly the same...this is not about United (people like you and that dreadfull Runedge think that your team is the centre of the world, it isn't that is Barcelona).

Yes in this instance i'm objective and you aren't. You don't really care as long as your team wins. Basically there is nothing wrong with that, it's the way most fans react. But don't talk about objectivity then
You've obviously not read any of my posts for the past six years because both of those points are certainly not true. Either that or you have the memory of a goldfish.

Or you're confusing me with someone else.

Weird feeling for the league cup. Our defense is Rafael, Wootton, Keane and Buttner. Gulp.

I like this tweet: "Juan Mata starts? You can't start Juan Mata in the League Cup. It's not allowed."

;)

Also, how's this for a bench comparison:

CFC - Hilario, Ferreira, Ramires, Oscar, Marin, Saville
MUFC - Johstone, Powell, Macheda, Lingard, Vermijl, Brady, Tunnicliffe

Cripes.

Don't think it's gonna end this way, at this point (2-3 to United) it is Rafael, Keane, Wooton and Buttner against Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Sturridge and Moses.

Eeep.

If we win now it will be superb achievement.

Actually now it's 7 of Chelsea first 11 playing for them!! vs kids from United academy... ;)

Imagine the titles... United kids beat the multimillionaire Chelsea team full of stars

I don't think that's going to happen

Sturridge scores.

I do enjoy the fact that Chelsea have to resort to sticking on their senior team, at home, in the League Cup. Against a United team that now has 9 players that have played at youth level for them.

We lost, but this competition is supposed to be about youth and chances for the big teams. And Chelsea used to claim they'd use youth to balance their books. If by youth they mean £55m on Oscar and Hazard, then yes, I guess.

Edit: All over now. 5-4.

Lesson of the day? Don't make a stupid challenge in the 94th minute. Wootton will hopefully learn. Tough on the kids, won't get to see much of some of them anymore this season :(

What a match! Chelsea just about deserve it I feel.

Powell is going to be such a good player you have star in the making!!

Yeah Powell looked properly confident out there. Great to see. Forget how young he is!

One thing is for sure, our youth academy is still turning out some great talent. Maybe not Hazard/Mata/Oscar levels of talent, but not all teams can have Chelsea's sugar daddy.

I maintain that if not for Chelsea (and subsequently City) United would have featured a much, much younger team including some of our youth players that 'got away'. And Arsenal would have probably won the league too ;)

Really good effort from us tonight, those young lads in defense will hopefully learn from this.

Hopefully the first team regular's make use of the rest to be on point Saturday.

Shame about the result but some positive performances. Keane looks pretty solid and Wootton did well up to his late brainfart. Powell was classy on the ball and hopefully Anderson can kick on from this, he was excellent.

Just disappointing to see Chelsea ignoring the unspoken league cup rule that big teams must only try to utilise squad and youth players rather than fielding or using so many first teamers.
Still, funny reading those headlines that Chelsea somehow gained revenge.

Their manager obviously wanted it a bit more than ours, nothing wrong with that IMO, they clearly didn't want to lose their 3rd straight game.

Their squad is pretty thin so its interesting to see they were the ones who played a bigger hand than us, who they playing on the weekend?

I don't think Chelsea vs Swanese will give them much trouble. They won't sit back and a open game will be their advantage. Anyone saw Wenger's comment let's respect rvp and he think Chelsea is wrong to go public . In England things can be worked internally and forgiveness can resume especially with such little proof.

Gutted about the result last night but I thought we played well for the most part. Just got knackered in the end and they brought on some of their best players to get them through.

I think I jinxed the CB's. About ten seconds before the mistake for their fourth, I thought they were excellent and said as much...and then that happened...

Rafael was great, Buttner got his first taste of how tough life is at the top level but hopefully he'll learn.

Giggs was magnificent, Ando had a very good game until he got tired. Promising stuff for him.

Nani can just fuck off as far away as possible. Not only for giving it away for the equaliser but for giving it away the rest of the fucking night too. Every time he got it there was a groan from our fans, you just knew he was gonna fuck it up. He clearly isn't arsed about us anymore so stop playing him.

Hernandez was great. On fire at the minute, always scores against Chelsea too. His hold up play was good too and looks to be dribbling a bit more as well.

In any case, it was my first United away last night and it was mental. I'm pretty much broken from been thrown forwards when we scored each goal, over the seats. The banter was great as well. Chelsea's fans are shite. Singing Clattenburg songs and ginger songs after the guy than ran on the pitch. He probably got done on CCTV but we did a damn good job hiding him.

I was thinking at what point is it embarrassing for Anderson, when a 38 year old Ryan Giggs plays 120mins and himself at 24 years old hauled off gasping on 77mins.

That said, I do love Ando, he offers something completely different to our midfield.

Good game overall, enjoyed it a lot, nice to take a break from the must win every game pressure of the league, though i'm still disappointed we're not through, purely because it gives half our squad a great competitive run out.

Ugh, as is seemingly par for the course these days, three sets of bad news for United supporters:

1. Vidic likely out to Christmas
2. Kagawa out another month
3. Nani is likely leaving in January (can't blame him after being thrown under the bus by Fergie, in public on Wednesday)

That'll mean Vidic will have played about 10 matches for us in over a year. No good from your captain.

And I'm on the fence with Nani. He's an absolute world beater at times, and was our best player 18 months ago, but he really isn't maturing as a player any more. And isn't getting on the pitch, sometimes behind Welbeck on the left (which is a crime against football).

If we could replace Nani with an actual left footed winger, that'd be something. But I think he'll go cheap and we'll be weaker without him. He is class on his day.

Going to be an easy win for United

I disagree. Arsenal's strength is in the part of the pitch where United are weakest. A lot will depend on how well Wilshere's return is going. If he's getting towards fitness, he could well run the match.

Should be entertaining though, especially if Fergie creates a big whole in the middle by playing Scholesy and Carrick.

Cazorla will enjoy the arces of space he'll find in behind our midfield. On the other hand, Valencia should enjoy running at Santos.

U was saying lol.

Told u lot it will be a stroll in the park and it was

Top of the league, seems like were really getting into our stride at the minute, lots of positives with maybe only one downer.

Feels like forever since we were top of the league for longer than a few hours.

Good job Arsenal were terrible because we weren't very good either.

So wasteful in front of goal and not brilliant in possession.
