Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Bloody hell some other stats from the game (what an odd one it was):

In the 88th minute City and United had both had 4 shots on goal
At full time City had 7 shots on target

Has any team ever scored 6 goals from 7 on target?

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

but perhaps a man who has accomplished so little in his career should maybe stfu?

But you can still say whatever you want as you have accomplished so much?
What's the difference? He's entitled to an opinion and is as blinkered as most other fans are.

Because someone posting on a web forum and a professional athlete should be held in the exact same regard in terms of public statements.

Erm. No.

And if you think Mr. Enrique had that opinion before joining Liverpool, well then I don't know what to say. He's just winding up opposition fans. I guess it makes him feel big or something. If I were a professional footballer, the last thing I'd want to do is insult my colleagues to win some brownie points with fans.

It's so interesting listening to North American athletes in US sports. They tend to view each other as parts of a big fraternity, and do loads of cross-team/ cross-rivalry discussions, charity work and so forth. There is a respect amongst fellow athletes.

When I hear one football accuse another of anything (racism, diving, etc) it just saddens me what a crap bunch of morons we decided to watch run around each week.

Why can't he say what he wants? Was it that bad really?? As long as he isn't being really abusive then I don't see the problem. If it's that bad, he gets fined.

I don't even know what he said to be honest. My point is, let them say what they want (within reason). Too many cry babies about. Such and such said this, such and such said that. Well boo hoo. Yes it's a bit sad but let the clowns carry on as they have freedom of speech don't they? I don't read half of it anyway. Just pick up bits and bobs from here and laugh at some of the reactions it all gets :)

And I'm not talking about racism here. All that type of stuff is bang out of order. Calling somebody a cheating diver for example is fine imo. If they cheat and dive then I have no issue with somebody calling them on it as I'm sick of it so I agree about the morons comment you made.

Yeah, Young has always like a tumble - remember getting irate with him when we used to play Villa.

Didn't think that was the most notable thing to discuss yesterday though, tbh.

Interesting to see Luis Enrique come out and not only say Suarez doesn't dive, but that United players dive like they're in a swimming pool. I mean good on him for knowing the intellectual level of his audience, but perhaps a man who has accomplished so little in his career should maybe stfu? It's like when Szekekshshsy keep tweeting trash talk, before f*cking up and seeing his team drop out of the top 3.

I really don't think you can say he's achieved "so little" in his career.

that because of the union, and problems are resolve in the background. NBA hasnt starter due to player union so players has to support each other. TW had problem but the golfer was daft to make a comment about a food type for TW winning master careers are ruining to publicly say things like Gray n keyes.

YouTube - Ravel Morrison Manchester United vs Aldershot Carling Cup

Good to see Ravel make his debut (yes I know he came on for a 20 second cameo before this)

He didn't look out of place did he? looked well up for the prospect and you could see flashes of the talent widely talked about. I can see comparisons with Rooney to be honest, he's leaner than Wayne and could help his dribbling and thus be used as a winger but you would think centrally would be were he ends up as a playmaker.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

I've been watching Ravel for years in the youth/ ressies. His quality is absolutely undeniable but I just worry that he's 18 now and has no first team experience to speak. Normally talents like that have forced their way into the top of football.

I'd love to think he's turned the corner with his off-field behaviour - but until he's played a season or so I won't believe it. So many false dawns.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Boy: hello
Girl: hey
Boy: can I fuck you 6 times in 90 minutes?
Girl: Wtf , do you think I'm manchester united ?

:LMAO:

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

So Carlos Tevez plans to sue Roberto Mancini.

If his lawyer has any sense of humour, he'll refuse to come off the bench and defend for him.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Ugh, early, non-televised match tomorrow. We don't normally play that well at Everton, so maybe it's best that I don't see it ;)

Will be very interesting to see if Fergie now settles into a regular team. I know Fergie loves to mix things up all the time, but it's clear the players aren't adjusting well to this constant shifting of both formation and personnel.

I'm not calling for the same team every week, but at least the same general strategy. Players have looked utterly lost the past few matches, and it's got to be because of the massive changes. We're United - we have good enough players that we should be able to set out how we want, and still expect to do well.

We've still conceded more shots than any team in the league. That is mental. Batsh*t crazy.

I think it's gonna be a 2-2 tomorrow. Not sure why, bit of a rare score, but that's what I see coming.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Want Cleverley in with Carrick and Anderson, hopefully having Tom back will give Ando a boost and we'll have Carrick protecting us when they go forward.

Ashley Young is a doubt, hopefully he doesn't play, he's not playing well at all at the minute.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Good weekend so far, 3 points, Chelsea drop some and a good draw in the league cup.

:))

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

How many times has Javier scored the winning goal in a game?

The percentage of the goals he's scored that've meant we've picked up either a point or three must be pretty damn high.

What a signing.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Yeah he's going to become a machine unless he gets dropped () Our riches upfront are ridiculous.

Sky Sports have compiled some of SAF's best quotes over the years:

The Roy Keane one is simply epic, and the Gary Neville one is hilarious:

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

:)) Great stuff, 25 years is crazy, never will be done in the modern era, hell a manager staying for longer than 4 years is an achievement nowadays

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

True True.

And those 2 quotes are brilliant indeed lol.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

For all his greatness, he hasn't half let us down by not buying a midfielder in the last 3 seasons. For those who missed it, this was our formation towards the end of the Galati game:

---------------De Gea-------------
---Fabio--Jones----Rio---Fryers---
----------Park----Rooney----------
----Valencia--------------Nani-----
----------Chicarito-Berba----------

And we were rubbish, again. Against a team whose most expensive player cost less than Rooney made in the past 3 days.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

That was terrible. So bad that I spent more time trying to come up with a Ray Wilkins drinking game than actually watching the match.

1 sip for 'My Word'
2 sips for 'lad'
3 sips for 'top player'

10 sips for any Lampard mention

That'd probably do the trick. Would give you vision akin to what I assume Anderson's is given his inability to pass to a teammate 3 feet away.

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

how many shots for "aww bless him"?
heard him say this atleast 3 times lol

but yea i dont see man united passing quarter final

Re: Manchester United Champions Thread!!!19!!!!!

Well it reminds me of 2006/07.

We were abysmal during the group stages that year, didn't do much better against Lille in the last 16. Get to Roma in the quarters, lost the first leg despite playing some alright stuff and then BOOM, 7-1.

We're in a seriously dour patch of form at the minute, to be expected after the City game and with all the injuries we've got. We'll probably make hard work of it against Benfica but I'd take a 2-1 just so we get through and then I'd back us to kick on after new year.
