Miller played on the right for the Republic last week and was man of the match.

did you see who they were playing ;) miller is no where near ready to hold a place down in the man utd midfield and i think everyones getting a bit carried away with the back up for ronaldo when he himself wont be a regular!

He's probley better on the right than Fletcher but like Fletcher his natural position is CMF/OMF.

Ronnie will be a regular, by next season he'll be 19 pushing 20 with a season in The Prem under his belt plus a major tournemant (Euro2004)

Miller will have a similar season to the one both Fletch and Ronnie had this year unless his performances warrant a regular place.

Not sure if this is cos of the problems with PSG over the Heinze signing..

Manchester United have won the race to sign Barcelona youngster Gerard Pique, according to sources in Spain.

The stylish young centre back with the famous surname, his full name is Gerard Pique Bernabeu, has been deliberating over his future with Arsenal and Chelsea also determined to find a new home for one of Spain's brightest defensive prospects.

The teenager is also comfortable in a left back position and could be a star of the future at Old Trafford.

His grandfather Amador Bernabeu was keen to see the Under-17 international make his mark at Camp Nou but negotiations did not progress well over a new contract and United have taken advantage.

No fee has been mentioned but it is understood that Pique is to sign a five-year contract with Sir Alex Ferguson's men.

Arsenal had been alerted to his availability by their own Spanish starlet, Cesc Fabregas, while Chelsea reportedly attempted to hijack the deal at a late stage.

looks promising, I reckon Fergie will save his transfer gem till last ;) :D

smith, miller, Pique who's next? why no top class players yet? why is he still buying potential
"forlans" n "Klebersons"?? why why why?

we are not Chelsea!! maybe these players will become world class

exactly, the club is all about developing future stars, the most recent big names we've signed in Rio and Seba have come with problems and your not guarenteed success by spending on big names anyway.

Kleberson and djemba djemba HAS proven to be quality, their potential is there proven with a couple of goals too. They need more chances to hold a regular place down thats all.

Kleberson scored a goal? Haha, i dont watch United games regularly, sorry bout that. All i remember was everyone critisising that buy.

building for the future is the best option. always is. how do you think beckham, the nevilles, scholes, butt etc all came about? you only have to look at italy (and obviously Leeds) to see how badly things can go wrong when you splash big money around willy-nilly.
personally i would like to see one big name signing this summer. someone proven, who's done it at the very highest level. other than that, i say keep going for potential. it'll pay off in the long term.

ps - i also wouldn't condemn the likes of kleberson and djemba-djemba just yet. surely the jury has to be out on players who haven't been given a chance yet. i personally have high hopes for djemba-djemba. he's a very powerful player and on the occasions i've seen him play he's always impressed me. give him time, then we'll talk.

Of course he has.He has like 3 goals now if I'm not wrong.Djemba has got 2 goals. At least these two critised players in United have scored goals, unlike some of the big players at Chelski, whos that argentinian midfielder and that guy who wears the number 10??

Look guys,I've just joined manutd.com message board forum and looks like we are hot on heels on these players;
Fernando Torres. (one guy has a contact from spain saying that its confirmed.)
Steven Gerrard. (reports have said that the player himself will make this decision after euro04 as pool cant hold onto him anymore)
Pique. (more or less a done deal)
Heinze. (more or less a done deal vol.2)

I hate the way Chelsea try to hijack every single one of our deals. :x

From the biggest (Robben) to even the smallest (Pique).

Heres one for the manyoo fans, Va Va Voom or what :D :D

If Man Utd do get Gerrard, they won't really need to worry about the midfield for the next few years IMO. That would cover all areas of midfield.

Then all we need is a good partner for van Nistelrooy and a decent defender.

What planet are you on!?!.........Gerrard will never go to united. No debate.

hahaha, Gerrard would be a GREAT deal...and yes, no more midfield problems...and that would be the big name of the summer...

hm...i sitll think Prospect is the way to go also, cause usually big names mean that they have enough experience and won't last too long, prospects can build loyalty, skill, and will last for longer periods of time...(well, for a few, it also brings in the big $$)

Leeds got relagted and had fuck all money.................

Gerrard fookin hates manu and has already said he would never play for them.

just a question to fellow man utd fans where are all these signins going to play heinze - yes i can see where he is going to play

smith - briliant buy but didn't we just buy a certain mr.saha in january
miller- we have a class midfield maybe he is a future giggs/keane replacement
pique - one for the future maybe but aren't kieran richardson, darren fletcher and mr. ronaldo a bright future already?

your thoughts please
