Manchester City Thread

They might have 12 players injured but first XI players? Really?? You said first team players admittedly but quite a few of them are subs / squad players and it's not as if they really miss all of them. Some kid goes on and on about the same thing in another forum but it just doesn't wash with me. From the list he gave a week or so ago, half the players were shit and hardly get a game anyway. Out of the list (I haven't seen the one you are on about), how many players would you really miss out of the 12? There are some good ones missing that I can think of off the top of my head but not buying this number 12 as some are there to just make up the numbers.

The last two games we've been without: Rooney, Vidic, Nani, Cleverley, Anderson, both Goalkeepers and Ashley Young. If I were to put together a 'first' XI, at least 5 of them would be in it.

The only 'insignificant' injuries we've had this year have been to Owen (yeah he's still around) and the twins (normally one is fit, and they're reasonably interchangeable).

The only player in our entire 25 man squad that has been fit for every premier league match this season is Park.

Finally, in United's 34 matches (before Stoke) they've fielded 22 different combinations in defence. Hence the shakiness.

The last two games we've been without: ... Snip

the last two games... Exactly. Even if it's longer than that It's not all season like some people are making out.
And out of those listed, United have some pretty decent alternatives for some of them.
Of course they've had injuries but when some people say 12 out, some of them aren't that good and not really missed (entire list).

I guess we'll have to disagree then. I've followed United for the best part of 30 years and I've never seen so many injuries as this season. Our players have missed (combined) something like 128 matches more than City this year.

Anyway, woe is poor United with the shabby, multi-million pound squad ;)

Why it doesn't surprise me that Park is the only players always fit. This players is massively underestimated...

The guy's a fitness freak! Always been!

Too bad, he's not as good as he used to be any more. :/

We bought Park for a mere 4 million in 2004-2005.His returns have been more than expected. His 200th appearance for us against Chelsea have been a milestone for the player...the first Asian player to do so for United. I regard Park Ji Sung not only as the Pride of Korea...but the Pride of Asia as well.

I don't know.

He always seems to have a terrible start to a season and then during the run in at the end, when you need your players playing well, he's always one of the best around.

I think he just saves himself for when it matters.

Nah bro, his fitness levels are insane and something long documented.

Even way back in his PSV days, he was known for his crazy stamina/endurance which combined with his work-ethic (non-stop running) is impressive. He runs more than most players.

The fact that he seems to start seasons not so brightly isn't due to 'saving' himself in my opinion, this is a guy who always gives his ALL, 110%. When he has poor performances, it's just because it happens and because he's not the greatest player lol. He's definitely not as good as he used to be anyway. Used to be a hell of a player a few years back, nowadays he's quite mediocre but still a great versatile professional have to in the squad of course.

Manchester City team were at my town Estoril.

This guy has become a super star for all the wrong reasons. I love him so much and really want him at Milan one day.

My favourite Super Mario moments:

- He needed a piss and went into the closest place, which turned out to be a college. This somehow was labelled as an anti-bullying visit.
- He dressed up as Santa and drove around Manchester, handing out cash to people.
- He wore a Milan shirt whilst he was at Inter, showing his love for Milan.

Nice place Andre. I'll come visit you one day.

In the meantime, let me know if you're ever in Toronto.

I hope so Sina. You will enjoy it. :)

Well, maybe I'll visit you too one day. If so, please be sure you reserve me a ticket for a Raptors-Knicks game. :D

oohhh, praia do tamariz... sweet memories :)) i was there for new year's eve in 2004. it was a wild night... actually it was a wild month!! :D
i didn't know u were from estoril andre. it's a shame we didn't know each others back during my time in portugal... oh well, who knows, maybe one day i'll be back..... (my girl has never been to portugal ;) ).

the entire cascais district is like a portuguese take on the french riviera.... wich actually turns out to be much better than its french counterpart on every possible aspect. instead of that plastic\boring architecture u get in montecarlo and beaulieu, u're surrounded by art nouveau villas and buildings (wich have nothing to envy to palermo's, napoli's or barcelona's art nouveau).
instead of having a beach u can only look at, because the water is always too damn cold (like in nice or st. tropez), u can swim from april till late september and enjoy those lovely restaurants on the beaches.
instead of having a casino filled with fops and millionaire snobs, u have a casino filled with under 30s guys and girls, whose only desire is to win a couple hundreds euros, so they can extend their vacation for 1 more week ( ).

anyway, getting back on topic, i gotta agree with u guys about balotelli. he's an asshole, but u just can't help but liking the guy (wich is kinda weird).

Where the hell city find that savic or how is his name , damn this guy its really bad defender every match of him i saw he wrong and city get foal

Another fantastic result for the best playing team in the EPL...Swansea are the best thing that happened to football in the last 5 years....Brendan Rogers for president.

thanks stef, nice vid. u can tell noel is actually disappointed to find out that most of those "episodes" about balotelli's life were false. however i kinda agree with him. i'm not sure i would want him to mature either. i mean he's an idiot obviously, but in a funny way.. he's not like ibra or kahn.. he's not an idiot in a "despicable kinda way". u look at him, u hear him talking and u don't feel the sudden urge to punch him in the face. u will probably say "God what a jackass!".... but still u will most likely be smiling while u say that. :D

as long as he keeps the crazy and stupid stuff off the pitch and doesn't let anything interfere with his growth as a football player, i'm absolutely ok with mario remaining the childish hilarious idiot he is right now. infact i would probably prefere it that way... precisely for the reason noel mentioned...because he's "different".

there's just one thing i simply can't accept about mario. he's a palermitano, and yet his accent is unbearably milanese (i know he basically grew up in milano, but still hearing a palermitano speaking milanese is just wrong :P )

and speaking of language, seriously how crappy is his english!! he's been in england for more than a year now and that's how he speaks english?? it's unbelievable.
i can understand adult people (like capellol, ancelotti, mancini) having trouble picking up the language, because as u grow old, it becomes more and more difficult to approach new languages... but come on he's 21!! he just got out of school. his english should have already been fluent by his 4th month in england (tops)... oh well, i guess he really is dumb :P

LOL true! then again, tevez doesn't seem to be the most brilliant chap either :P
as for u buddy, if u moved to improve your english, u definitely picked the wrong city! miami's unofficial language is spanish... infact u could probably spend 10 years in miami without speaking a word of english :D
still better than Ramos when coaching Tottenham :P
u know, actually i can't even remember ramos' english... seems like a lifetime ago :))
