How are you guys actually lowering the wages? Whenever I read anything about wages from different clubs they are always getting higher, bigger tv deals inflates everything. So how can City lower the wages? Are the new players really that much more cheaper? How many players are actually being sold? The squad seems pretty balanced to me and without a huge second tier of players. Who in Chelsea's case get loaned out.
Players have been put on a different wage structure with lower basic wage and performance bonuses playing a bigger part.
Players signed and resigned in the last year or so have been put on this structure. The likes of Negredo, Navas etc were signed on 75k.
Soriano reportedly fell off his chair when he saw how much the likes of Bridge, Barry, Lescott, Adebayor, Tevez et al. were on and so got rid.
Also, last year's wage bill that has been doing the rounds in the media, and even quoted by Rodgers, was inflated by the club putting Mancini and his team's 10m+ payoff in with it.
