Mafia 2

Bad news: The 10th of August I'm flying to Kenya and then to Tanzania. I don't think I'll find a PS3 plugged to Internet in the Serengeti.

Good news: I come back the 25. I can rest the 26 and buy the game on the 27, and avoid the demo completely, so I don't spoil that level.

Good, good.

Demo due next tuesday on PSN for PS+ subscribers - will be on the normal store for everyone else the next day

What happens with you hit the time limit?

I know if you die it resets the demo and you're back in the house having to answer the phone.

Handling feels a little slippery but that might be intentional due to the cars. Does look good though and great great music playing on the radio always helps for those long drives.

Wahwahweewah. Very nice. If there ever was a reason to definitely buy a game it would be for that.

Is there a speed limit on this? Thought that was pretty shit in the first one.

Where's Placebo with his review.

:)

You can open the hood to fix the car you damaged, not bad. There are 2 options for driving mode, normal and simulation.

Really enjoyed the demo. The cars are tough to handle at first (as were the cars in GTA) but you get used to it as you vary your driving speed. The general game mechanics are good, easy to use controls with some nice animations and quick reloading (thank god).

Really looking forward to this game.

about to install new physics drivers

Hi Folks,

Some of you may know about this fix, but I was really upset at the frame rates until I realized what the problem was.

This is for you Nvidia folks that may be wondering why the game is running slow.

I downloaded the steam demo, and part of the installer installed the newest version of Physx, problem is that is installed in in CPU mode, so the game was not using the GPU to render the physics (overloading the CPU and causing low frame rates).

The simple fix for you NVIDA Steam demo folks that may be in the same boat is to uninstall your physx and reinstall Physx manually from your Mafia II steamapps folder under the 3rd folder

In my case it was here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\mafia ii - public demo\3rd

Now the game runs rock solid 60 FPS and now the game is amazing. Cars are easier to drive, and the Shooting is easier to target (along with amazing visuals)

Good luck, if this helps one person my work is done
Done. Still not impressed. Anyone else got a single 480gtx? i do have a spare 260gtx collecting dust atm but need a new psu to power that along with my 480gtx. tempted to do a razor and buy another 480gtx >
