The clubs development won't change, but it will determine how fast Chelsea and City feel the drawbacks. Arsenal will continue to be as strong, same for Utd imo (if they get rid of the debt/owners asap).
i think he is out for a month
'We brought him out here (to Portugal) to start running, and the disappointing news is that he hasn't,' said Pardew.
'His injury is in the muscle, just above the tendon where it joins the knee, so it's not an area that gets great circulation and therefore it doesn't heal quickly.
'We have had a consultation this week about sending him to someone who is the world's best tendon repair expert – there are experts in different fields – and this guy is at the Arctic end of Sweden.
'He's flying out there on Friday and we're hoping that we can turn him around quickly. But now I have to say that Fulham is definitely out and possibly even Arsenal. We can't rush him back.'
nah, he will be ok in a week..Pardew said Carroll may be out for the Arsenal match, which would be this coming Saturday. Don't think he's hurt that badly.
this is what he said:
One thing I feel is that there is far too much criticism about
Torres ....
while I agree he left in the wrong way and maybe should not have
said so much about committing himself earlier....
But I feel he is being demonized by liverpool fans calling
him a judas...or mercenary....or glory hunter...
Aldridge is calling him a fraud, a mercenary.....
funny that Rush left for Juventus to earn more....
Aldridge also left after 3 years to Sociedad....
why even Keegan left for Hamburg...
why even Gerrard almost left twice to Chelsea.....
why is that players who play for the club cannot think of their
own careers or winning trophies or finances...
why do we expect them to "love" the club....
I think Torres has been a superb player at this club barring this season
with his sulking....but if you look at it...at his age he did not
want to spend another 2 years waiting to see how it will turn out...
...now whether Chelsea are the best option...that is to debate...but
they look far more likely to compete in the CL...
All of us work are not married to our jobs....if we get a chance of improving our careers we can leave....
we work so that we enjoy our work and make the most money
to provide for the families...
The funny thing is that Andy Carroll has just left his boyhood club
and joined Liverpool.....he can also be accused of ditching his fans
and going for more success....or that he did not give Newcastle the chance..
after all they were in mid-table...not in the bottom 3.....
Suarez also left Ajax which gave him the platform to do well at a big
club....and he left to come to Liverpool to win trophies....if you hear
what he said..." Liverpool ...a club who are always in the champions league
and europa"......funny that Torres left because we are missing out on
the very same CL...
What makes us think that Suarez or Carroll may not leave in 3 years
time to a more successful and wealthy club...
It's not like Torres has stabbed us in the back....
I mean....his departure may have a benefit...we have negligible
net spend and got rid of 2 under-motivated players (Torres and Babel)
and replaced them with 2 players who have great potential.
I think it is us fans who idolize players ....and then get heartache
when they leave...
maybe we should not do that.....these players are human beings who have a life and families
to take care...and they make decisions not for our benefit..
as Dalglish said ...no player is bigger than the club....the club
will go on...with new players...new coaches...etc...
And all that because he fall drunk in a casino. He has to sort his mentality ASAP.
When I think of Suarez I go out of my head (I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough)
Now he wears the famous number seven for the reds (I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough)
He scores a goal and the Kop erupts and we just can't seem to get enough
der der der der der der der, der der der der der der der, der der der der Luiz Suarez!
Der der der....

I think you're confusing "leaving" with "abandoning".
Those other players who are still idolised left in the right way, Torres abandoned us when things were looking good. He fucked us over at the worst time (3 days left to replace him). That's why he won't be forgiven.
Plus, those other players all gave more to the club. Torres was here for three and a half years, two of which he has spent on and off the treatment table. He won nothing and to be honest he looked unstoppable in his first year and this year he's mostly looked average.
He's not a legend in the same sense as the other players you mentioned (Aldridge, Keegan, Rush etc.). He's a great player and will be remembered for some great moments, but not enough to put him up there with the best Liverpool players.
Nothing is unforgivable.....he did not kill anyone...
he left for selfish reasons.....end of story...
No need for people to hate him or deem it unforgivable...
I did not like him going to Chelsea......I don't like his cold-blooded
attitude....but the reality is Liverpool are bigger than Torres
and we have got 2 players who have loads of potential.
We got a lot of money for Torres...no way we would have got 50m
in the summer after his wretched world cup..
As Dalglish said let's focus on who we have .....
I am scared this Chelsea match will be all about Torres...just hope
the players dont take their eye off Anelka and the rest...who can inflict
much more damage than Torres....the fans need to focus on supporting the team
and ignore Torres......jeering him and abusing him will do no good to anyone.
"I never kissed the Liverpool badge," he said. "I see some players do that one week after they join a club but the romance in football has gone. It's different now. People come and leave. When you join a club you want to do the best for yourself and for that club. That's all. Some people like to kiss the badge. I only want to score goals, do my job and achieve all the targets the team has. We share the same targets."
we are going nowhere.he is too good for us.
Technically he didn't kiss itI never kissed the Liverpool badge, says Chelsea's Fernando Torres

did he deserve to be even talked about...pure shite of person.
Nothing like being optimistic eh? If you seriously think we're "going nowhere" then I'm not sure what you're thinking. We weren't going anywhere last year under H&G (downhill if anything), we're clearly getting better now.
dags,do you honestly believe we'll get a cl spot in the next two three years?yes we are getting better.but we are just gonna be a mid table side for a while, spurs and man city have overtaken us.we are sixth at best and if you fail to see it then hey,i admire your optimism(blind faith?)....
