Trying to get himself in the frame for the job after Dalglish leaves.![]()
Dalglish has his contract untill the end of season...no matter how he does, if he will be worse, i stand by him.. he is someone i can be proud to say he is manager...and he wont be worse than Hodgson imo.
so basically if your in the relegation zone come March or April time you won't call for change.

I wouldnt mind that. Im sure we've all seen more than a handful of United fans that we've been ashamed to be associated with...We'll inevitably go through a period of decline, as with any football club. But it might weed out the Glory Hunters and make it a bit easier to get tickets.![]()
I've read somewhere that might happen tonight.A Kelly-Johnson partnership down that right side would be interesting...
I do agree with that Dags but I think SAF will leave the next manager a great team, I think once that team fades I'll start to worry (also when we lose or draw a game and everyone shouts SACK!)

I think Fergie's quality isn't so much creating the "best" team but the mentality he instills. Everyone, including themselves expects Utd to win, always. These days the opposition has some of that mentality aswell so it's not totally one sided, but he did create that with the succes they have had.
I think the test for the next manager will be how to continue that mentality, instead of continuing a good/great team. Once the opposition smells blood a large part of Utd's strength will diminish, look at Chelsea this season, that will only get worse and with their ageing squad will be very tough for them imo.
Same with Liverpool, I remember an opposition manager commentating that they couldn't get AT Liverpool with Alonso as he was too quick in both directions for them to close him down and press Liverpool high up. The moment he left teams got on top of Liverpool and they have been struggling since. That's actually more a tactical/skill issue, but the mentality has also changed because of that. Teams feel equal to them now, never used to be like that, and that can be enough.
