Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

"Act humanely"?!

FIFA needs to get a hold of Barca and sort them out. If managers came out with this bollocks, they'd be fined for illegal tapping-up of the player. So why are they letting Barca's players talk so much about the likes of Fabregas and Mascherano? :SHAKE:

Re: Liverpool Thread

Because it isn't tapping up. The players aren't going behind the club's back to offer contracts or anything like that, they are merely stating their opinion on the matter.

It's shitty and out of order, but with current rule there is nothing wrong about it.

I also don't think they will be able to stop it, after all that could mean that transfer rumours could no longer be reported as it can have the same effect on a player.

All it does though is make the player, and the club look like sh!ts.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Messi stuck his oar in about our terrible treatment of moneybags Tevez too. Shut your mouth dwarf-features.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Rumoured to be the team for tonight:

Reina

Johnson Carragher Kyrgiakos Kelly

Kuyt Lucas Poulsen Aurelio

Cole

N'Gog

Re: Liverpool Thread

Don't be surprised to see Fabio left back and Kelly part of a central 3....

Re: Liverpool Thread

Come on guys be reasonable, Messi is the best player in the world at the moment. If he says so, then you should just sell Masch for what ever money Barcelona want to pay.

They should get Fabregas and Masch for about 30million all in, it's the only humane thing to do.

Re: Liverpool Thread

maybe Mascherano feels he's being treated like a slave. Footballers make me fucking sick.

btw the team i posted has been confirmed as the starting XI.

Re: Liverpool Thread

If I were Roy, I would personally escort Dirk Kuyt to Inter Milan...
the guy adds no value on an attacking front...

Glen Johnson should be our right winger......has much more to offer...
and get a more defensive right-back to take his place in the defence.

EDIT: fair play to Kuyt...he scored the winner....but still he really should not be on the wing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Can't we just do a Bale with Johnson? Didn't see the match, but he offers far more danger on the wing then Kuyt. And you know if you need a more defensive rm he will do a good job aswell.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Glad we won.....but some mixed feelings after hearing Roy.....he called it a very very good victory....and that he would build the team around the likes of Kuyt....
That last bit is concerning :-(

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fee agreed for Masch to Barca. This is now the fourth successive summer that we've made a net profit from transfers.

Our centre midfield is looking a bit poor now. We've sold the likes of Alonso, Mascherano and Aquilani on loan. We're left with Lucas, Poulsen and Gerrard.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah Messi should've shut up. But usually too much talking from players actually ends up costing the club - for instance the whole talk between Ibrahimovic and Guardiola now only sent a signal of "Barca are desperate to sell Zlatan" which means other clubs [Milan] negotiate from a position of power as the transfer window draws to a close.

Milan, up until now, have only spent around £5 million this summer. We were always going to wait for summer discounts, and this is why Zlatan and Robinho are linked. Huntelaar is probably off for £15m to Schalke.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Was gonna say,

We've gone from Alonso, Masch and probably a peak Gerrard to Lucas, Poulson and a past his peak Gerrard in one year with 50mil probably gone towards debts.

Aquilani is a non entity so no point adding him to the list.

Not that i'm in the "let's buy superstars"-boat, but rough times seem to be ahead for both Liverpool and Milan. You need a really good team-building coach to manage to create a team from cheap players.
In Milan's policy i don't like it that (leaving the jokes about old players aside) their hottest transfers smell like "let's make a last buck from past their prime-players" - it started with Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Beckham, Ronaldinho and now Ibrahimovic... cheers to you for getting them rather cheap, but i'm left with the impression that you also wanted to leave team construction to them and that made for a serious decline in your team. I'm sure every Milan fan dreams of a fresh team that builds its playmaker, doesn't just buy a bored one.

I apologize for the off-topic.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool have sold midfielder Javier Mascherano to Barcelona for about £17.25m, BBC Sport understands.

Oh just fuck off Barcelona! Scumbags hiding behind pretty football!

They get 24mil for Toure and we end up selling a better player for 17mil!!!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Brought Barca right down in my estimation now, hope they do shit this season.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I don't feel bitter towards Barcelona - they've just acted in their own interests to get the best deal possible.

Mascherano and the people agreeing the terms at our end are the villans.

Masch's insistence on leaving forced our hand. That's when, with our finances considered, our hopes of a proper fee were lost.
