Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Didn't we pay 17/18mil for him? He's only gotten better and is still young. 25mil would be the minimum imo, if Toure can go for 24mil and Barca really want him let them pay up.

Re: Liverpool Thread

The teams:

Man City: Hart, Richards, Toure, Kompany, Lescott, De Jong, Toure Yaya, Barry, Milner, Adam Johnson, Tevez. Subs: Given, Zabaleta, Wright-Phillips, Adebayor, Silva, Vieira, Jo.
Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Carragher, Agger, Jovanovic, Gerrard, Lucas, Kuyt, Torres, Ngog. Subs: Jones, Aurelio, Pacheco, Kyrgiakos, Maxi, Babel, Poulsen.

Very attacking from Liverpool, and very defensive from Man City!!...4 CD and 3 DM! Johnson, Milner and Tevez the attacking players.....

Re: Liverpool Thread

If we dont get atleast 25 mil for macha then Hodgson is a real cunt.

I mean 18 Mil and were getting completely pissed over, hardly suprising were abosolutely shite at business.

With all his faults and annoyances Benitez would have never let macha go for cheap....

Tis all rumour tho and SkySports News is aimed at spastics so we'll see
There are a lot of things Benitez wouldn't have done and Hodgson did mate. Hodgson has done nothing but aging our team. Before someone says something, Shelvey and Wilson were Benitez's buys. Shelvey came with him and Wilson have already agreed terms when Benitez was in charge.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Bloody cut back goals........shouldn't have expected anything else from a club acting like they are playing Masterleague! ;)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Barca wants to swap and pleb is the player He doesn`t play he`s worth 3mill tbh . Hold on for the money Masch is at least 25mill .

Re: Liverpool Thread

pathetic performance from the entire 11 tonight.

All i'll say on the previous discussion is that Danny Wilson wasn't signed by Benitez and if people think Hodgson will have any say at all on what happens to Mascherano then they're very naive.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool had no fight, no guile, .....
no passion.....
We have a team without any wingers.....that is the problem.
Kuyt ....why on earth is he on the wing.... I just can't fathom it.
Jovanovic...well he needs time...since he is new...but again...he is not
a winger...

When you see the likes of Adam Johnson, Malouda, Valencia, Nani, etc....you just wonder why Liverpool end up signing so many central-players and putting them down the wings...

Pretty dire display.....why do we have to go 0:2 down before fighting...
the sad part was that Mascherano was our best player against Arsenal...we could end up missing him a lot...once he leaves.

Re: Liverpool Thread

tbh if we sell mascherano for less than 25 milion pounds..i have no ideals for this season at all...

tonight i could not watch the match but i think we have to get used to this results..

fans seem to forget our main and only problem for this club future is to have people leading it, who care... and dont lie. Currently we dont have them so we are shit in all aspects.. the players, and other things are just after finding solution to the main problem..

i dont think Roy wanted to loan Aquilani, and i dont think either we needed to get rid of Rafa...any of this..

the club is in wrong hands and if it wont chainge..nothing will chainge imo.

edit: just reading the last post of UJSupanova, seems you think what i am thinking...

Did the yanks put Roy a gun in his head and told him to say to the press, everything he said ?

Re: Liverpool Thread

The words he spoke to official website had so much sence as if a submarine was using windscreen wipers...

If the fans always want to find excuses...then we will never improve.

Rafa did that consistently....always blaming the Americans....
and the fans bought into that....
Thankfully Purslow saw through his excuses and got rid of Rafa...

Who told you that Roy did not want to loan out Aquilani...
It is obvious that Roy does not see the fragile Italian as first choice.....
Cole and Gerrard will be first choice....and after that we need to have
a defensive midfielder like Masch or Poulsen in the last central midfield
slot....so Aquilani has no guarantee of first team football...
It is better for him to go get first team football to build his fitness...
than to rot on the bench here at LFC and lose value.

If Roy had no control, then both Gerrard and Torres would have been sold and the money would have been used to pay off the debt......

That did not happen.....

Face it....we were just not good enough today......
no point blaming the owners...they don't play on the pitch
and they don't decide who gets signed.

Today, we lacked quality in the final third....and had no belief going
forward.....as Roy said...we did not deserve 3:0.......they only had
3 shots on target.....we had 3 clear chances.....and things will get
better when Torres is fit....and Hodgson has a chance to get the team
playing his style.....
As Hodgson said......only 2 games have gone......36 to go.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just outclassed all over the pitch last night, pretty dismal viewing. Not much else to say really.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Roy's still learning about the team, hardly had any games in charge. He should've made changes sooner, and maybe 4-4-2 wasn't working with City having the extra player in midfield (Yaya and De Jong were immense) but I'm not expecting miracles from Roy considering he's only been here five weeks.

As someone said, we're struggling and bringing on Babel and Pacheco. We need better depth. Babel just constantly fails to even remotely impress, and Pacheco is still a bit too young and raw to be relied upon just yet.

I'm waiting to see what the official line is on Masch. Roy not playing him because his head was "turned" is ridiculous. "Turned" or not, Masch is supposed to be a professional and he should be playing for us regardless. If he can't play because his head isn't right, then he's not fit to work, so he shouldn't get paid for the weeek.

what exactly happened with mascherano? i heard that maybe it was mascherano who asked hodgson not to be lined up... is that how it went? or was it a 100% hodgson decision?

Re: Liverpool Thread

4-4-2 was naive at best.

So he couldn't play Masch - fair enough - but to have Ngog AND Torres starting was always going to give us issues in midfield.

When I saw the line-up I thought to myself, it's going to need some big individual performances as that formation can't work against City's.

OK, Roy's only been at Liverpool for 5 weeks or whatever but is there any other TOP manager that would have started two strikers who've only started together once before (in a match they failed to impress in)?

For me, it needed a packed midfield and with Mascherano unavailable, and assuming Poulsen was unfit (why put him on the bench?) then it should have been Maxi or Babel for Ngog with Jova tucked inside, behind Torres.

I really hope last night is the end of Agger's career at left back (if faced by any half decent winger).

So many things wrong last night, and I'm not blaming them all on Roy as it was no worse than Wigan away last season, for example, but the formation was where things started going wrong.

Barca offered X amount (£12m or £16m depending on who you listen to) and we refused. Masch has spat his dummy out and isn't in the right frame of mind to play. That's all we know at the moment, but it does seem to be that Masch is crying about not being allowed to go.

We paid £18m for him, he's improved MUCH more as a player, but he thinks we should sell him for less? :FAIL:

You dont fire the guy that brought you Istanbul, Athenas and the best Premier League season in 20 years. Last season we played pathetic football, but I cant remember an injury plagued season as much as last one, and a season in which luck was against us in a lot of matches. And, despite Im far from being one of those ultrafanatic fans of Benitez, but you dont fire your manager to bring in charge, someone like Roy Hodgson. When Hiddink arranged with Turkey, there was no point in firing Benitez.

We are risking here to sell him the 31 of August for 20M and then is Michael Owen situation all over again.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Mascherano doesn't like the fact that Liverpool want to play hardball over his transfer, if we were to do what he wanted we'd get ripped off.

Also, mathewsss you are very naive if you believe everything you typed mate, seriously it's not as simple as that.

Re: Liverpool Thread

This is a bit of a generalisation and there are obviously examples proving the opposite but Argentine footballers don't seem the most loyal bunch.

Re: Liverpool Thread

if mash goes then who will they bring on or buy with the money? still need a few more positions filled imo

after watching game last night, i felt for liverpool, least u got an easier game next week so hopefully they can get result and start playing

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wasn't he rotting away in the West Ham reserves before he was brought straight into the Liverpool side?

Like Jumbo said, these Argentinians don't have much concept of loyalty, specifically those who come and ply their trade in England. The likes of Heinze, Tevez and Mascherano are just a bunch of mercenary cunts.

Him announcing it before the City game would certainly have hindered Hodgson's preparation as well.

Yeh he was mate, he couldn't get into the West Ham team when Rafa signed him and he was allowed to develop into the player he is now. Ungrateful cunt he is.

Rumours were all over the place yesterday that he was actually starting yesterday before he told them he didn't want to play, so it's no wonder our midfield was fucking shit.

first i wanted to answer your post one sentence by one..but then i think of this..

are you joking? :SHOCK::SHOCK::SHOCK:

edit: but maybe i will answer it...later. just can understand your thinking or knowing what you know about our owners...and where we suposed to be now and what we suposed to fight for now, with Rafa and in the Stanley Park..

I dunno, but Matthew seems to be the only one here who doesn't seem to want to blame the owners for anything. And Matthew's American. Hmm ... ;)

Just FYI....I will happy to see Hicks and Gillett gone....
with new owners who can give us more funds to compete with the best..

I have supported Liverpool for 24 years....when I was a kid...
I have lived in 3 different countries...
before I became an American citizen last year :-)
So your theory is nonsense about me supporting Hicks/Gillett.

I just want Liverpool FC to be better....and I don't see how laying
the blame solely at the feet of the owners is going to help.

What I don't agree with is the pro-Rafa fans just blaming the owners for every problem and totally ignoring the deficiencies of the players and the
manager.

Sure, the owners have made mistakes....but so has Rafa.

I can argue that most of you are very pro-Rafa...and totally anti-owner.

At the end of the day....maybe I over-reacted....
I am sick of seeing people constantly blaming things off the pitch...

I support Liverpool FC....and not the owners.
I don't care who owns the club.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Messi said:
“Javier won't play for the club again, I can assure you of that, and I think the Liverpool coach knows that now.

"Javier's family are unhappy and the pressure of seeing that is making him depressed.

“Liverpool must act humanely and let him go."
Oh gosh! typical...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Oh gosh! typical...
How can Messi assure us that Mascherano isn't going to play for us anymore ? If we dont sell him now, he is going to play for us at least for 6 more months. Unless he wants to pull another Ortega situation, in which case he will be sancionated and not only he wont play for Liverpool, but also for Barcelona or any other club in the world.
No doubt that the 80 % of argentinans are all mercenary cunts.
