Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

BBC just reported he has signed a 3 year deal with Chelski. Why is it we don't mind selling to other rivals? Grrr. Good player when you need to unlock a tricky game - however I can only see him being in the reserves a lot at Chelsea.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well it looks like Rafa sanctioned Yossi's departure.....that makes sense..
Rafa was never comfortable playing skilful players.
Many times Yossi was dropped even after playing well.

I am sad to see him leave.... he was one of those players who split
defenses and scored 10 goals a season.

I can see Yossi doing well at Chelsea albeit off the bench.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm suprised you sold Yossi, from an outsiders view he seemed like he was one of your better players. Seemed to always give his all? your going to need players like him next season in your squad.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i liked Yossi, but he opened his mouth (and so did his agent) one too many times about how he would "re-evaluate his future" and i think Rafa saw that as a bad attitude, and he's probably right tbf

Apparently we got between £5.5 and £6m for him, which is a good deal considering he's 30 years old, we got 3 good years out of him and now he'll go and sit on the bench at Chelsea.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Cheeky get can enjoy sitting on the bench as well. I liked Yossi a lot but with him coming out now saying Chelsea is a "dream come true" and a "big club" like we aren't, he can get stuffed as far as I'm concerned.

I didn't know what he had said, his age and how much you got for him.

It seems like a good deal now :DD

You aren't anymore...get used to it.
And why would playing for Chelsea not be a dream come true?
That is reaction of a frustrated fan.
Benayoun was very good when playing for Liverpool why being frustrated if he want to go to a bigger club...a club that is playing the CL ???

Re: Liverpool Thread

He was a good player reminded me of Jari Litmanen, but I knew he was definately going around the end of Feb...I could see it from his constant whinging and moaning on the pitch. At first I thought he was right to complain about being taken off but I dont think his performances were that great last year and he can be wayy too indecisive at times. His body language was similar to McManamans in his last season....anyway Good Luck to him I hope he breaks a leg!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Now it's Chelsea fans' time to get frustrated at him for not shooting when he has a chance

He was so frustrating at times, he'd get into a great position and then dummy the shot two or three times before losing the ball.

Sorry but you're talking shite again. Liverpool are still a massive club and one bad season won't change that at all. Fucking knee-jerk nonsense as usual.

Load of shite. We're one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and last season won't change that.

I was going to say the same thing

He isn't going to be a big loss, he wasn't played enough and when he did play he lacked the right decision when it was needed. Good skillful player though, but not exactly a great loss.

Re: Liverpool Thread

When I read today in the official website: "Gerrard: time for a change", I almost colapsed.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Of course Liver pool is a big club.
But at the moment, they are not attractive because they don't play CL and there is a real danger that clubs like Man City, Spurs, Villa and maybe even Everton will surpass them.

When players like Benayoun (who have just had a frustrating season) have the chance to play for a bigger club (that is: at the moment), i don't think you can blame them. That is called healthy ambition.

I thought LFC fans are already prepeared for shit news...i would not be surprised...actually if the players dont want to stay..then goodbye..:BYE:

Gerrard is our captain, but no player is biger than the club.

Cant see that happen, unless we get bought by some arab billionare....

This is a funny situation where Manu and Lpool fans are raged against their rich owners and want back to the roots while we(at least our board is) are desperatly looking from any of those billionaries to buy us over and turn us into a ManC or Chelsea's...

I really dont know what to think about this.. its like: be competitive and a "corporate" club, or keep the roots and not have a chance to win anything big?

Football nowdays is all screwed up imo!

And you should add another category. Dont keep the roots, be bought by a pair of pathetic liars and dont have money to buy players, and see how the money your club generates go straight into your owners pocket so they can finance the purchase of your club.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think most, if not all, Liverpool fans are a bit cautious about Hodgson will actually bring to Liverpool. The thing is, none of actually know what might happen and it's complete guesswork.

Waiting to see what happens by August is the first step.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yup I guess thats the problem, We're getting mixed messages from Torres & his agent....so I guess hes 50/50 on if he is going to stay or not. I know he hasn't spoken to Hodgson yet but even if he mentioned he would like to stay I'd take that right now.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Brilliant appointment I think anyway, He'll do well, especially with the likes of Benayoun already gone, Mascherano probably off and Torres could be off.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Benayoun's money was used to pay off Rafa and hire Hodgson, Roy won't see any of that.
