Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Of course it was the Liverpool fans' fault, nothing to do with United fans at all then?

Again it comes back to why are you lot so obsessed with coming into this thread, making snidey comments about Liverpool and Gerrard, starting up an arguement and keeping it going?

Do you go into other teams pages (apart from City) and have a pop at their clubs/players/fans? Do you spend anywhere near a fraction of the time spent in this thread in any other teams thread?

It honestly seems to me that the main reason United fans come in here is for trolling and taking the piss. It's a bit ridiculous really and, while not at the level of Plan M, it's pretty annoying and pisses a lot of Liverpool fans off (apart from Tik who doesn't seem to be anything but happy regardless of what happens in life).

I just think if you've got nothing worthwhile to say in here, why bother? Unless it is to wind Liverpool fans up. And if that's what your aim is, aren't you getting a bit old for that?
I don't know, most of the time I post in here, I'll bring up valid points rather than WUMs.

And even if I do joke or have a dig, it's light-hearted more than anything, I'll give a little stick but be ready take some in return of course.

Seems like you've never gotten over the stupidity of Plan M and the rest of us are tarnished because of that prick.

Lighten up, mate. :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wow, so many things to discuss and quote!

gerd said:
About Liverpool.Standard: when one of his team mates was injured a Standard player kicked the ball out. Liverpool did not return it...Standard"s manager was furious about it, and so was i...but of course i'm biased because i wanted Standard to win.

Actually now you mention it I do seem to remember something like that and thinking WTF are they doing?! I thought you meant that a player went down during a play and Liverpool continued to play on, didn't realise you meant the ball was out of play. That is poor!

@ Abou,
Have you realised the F*&k Up defense you are posting as you are using the idiots at RAWK to defend YOUR OWN POSTING in here! :D
Although in your defense I checked out your post count this year, I know I know, but I didn't have anything to do. And from what I saw your posts weren't actually WUM ones. However yesterday's tally was 14 in here, 25 in the Manu thread and about another 20 or so in the rest of the forum. So about 25% of your posts are in this thread! And after today it might be 30%!

@ Dags,
Yeah I'm a pretty easy going guy :D

Strangely enough near the end I came to appreciate Plan M's humour, it was actually quite good.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I used to love some of his pics such as

Anyway, When is Torres back?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Can't wait for tonight, historic moment!

So does anybody know what specialty the Romanian team has? Are they pig farmers, cow farmers or vegatables?

Re: Liverpool Thread

I know when we went out of the CL, I wasn't bothered by the Europa League but now it's realistically our only hope of a trophy, I hope we go on to win it.

Not sure about their players but apparantly they play decent football and wont be a pushover.

Still expecting a decent win though.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Mixed reactions I think. Personally he's settled in well enough considering he's came from Spain and it's very different. He hasn't exactly lit the place up but then he hasn't been poor either.

Excited to see him as he plays more games, he seems great at getting into goalscoring positions.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I saw a thing by a Spanish based journalist who couldn't believe you'd signed him as apparently he'd been crap for 2 seasons for Atletico (couldn't even get in the team towards the end) and was living off his reputation from his 2006 World Cup performances for the Argies. I don't think he's been that bad since signing though, nothing special but guess he needs time to settle.

Re: Liverpool Thread

"Couldn't believe" is a bit odd, it's not like we even paid any money for him. If it doesn't work out, then we haven't lost anything. Especially when you consider we sold Voronin so Maxi is just replacing him with regards to wages.

Re: Liverpool Thread

We signed him for 1,5mil didn't we?! We were going for a loan deal but ended up buying him if reports were correct.

TBH I think he'll end up being a waste of money, just seems to old and slow and weak for the prem.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I thought it was a free transfer? Wiki seems to think so as well.

Edit: Yep, Telegraph, Guardian, The Times and Daily Mail all say it was a free transfer as well.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Gerrard was alright for the most part, I certainly wouldn't drop him for the return leg.

Disappointed in Riera, Kuyt and Aquilani last night. Especially Riera, who just kept making mistakes over and over.

But very pleased with Babel's appearance (again), he's proved for a while now that he's got bags of talent and his motivation is there now with the WC coming up, so he's playing really well when brought on. Would love to see him start games more often as I'm sure we'll see the best of him now.

Also really pleased to see Pacheco, and he got an assist from a cracking cross from Babel :)

Overall team performance was disappointing again last night though. So toothless, lacking creativity and movement.

Sorry I didn't have the game on TV, and reading the kind of performance, I assumed it was the Gerrard effect :COAT:

Re: Liverpool Thread

Nah, just a general team thing really. Whether that's down to Rafa's tactics and not letting players move into attacking positions when they should be, or whether it's down to the players themselves, who knows?

But this season we're REALLY struggling to play any kind of creative football and it's just depressing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I saw the game and Pool played well they dominated it in poss. was hard playing a side that park the bus. Most of the game was played on the other half was embarrassing . Well , that`s my imo hope pool wins the comp. They make my Thursday every exciting :BOP:

Re: Liverpool Thread

It seemed like your a bit one paced to be honest and needed that moment from Aquilani or Gerrard to speed it up at times but it just didn't happen.

Or a certain diminutive figure of Pacheco .. given the opportunities he will be a great 12th man coming off the bench when you need a boost.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Unfortunately he couldn't be a 12th man as you'd have to take someone off if you brought him on from the bench.
