M8, the man (Kyrgiakos) went DIRECTLY to hit Fellaini!
And believe me, he (Kyrgiakos) ment to do so... I just said, I know him well, I know "how" he's playing. He's playing hard, but MANY times "dirty". Example? Check this:

Watch it again. His right foot is the only one near to Fellaini and he wins the fucking ball, he didn't touch Fellaini, the only contact between the two was the studs of both of Fellaini's boots on the shin of Kyrgiakos. This has nothing to do with his past or how he plays in any way.

Like most players in the local derby he obviously wants to win the ball but send a message to the opposition player, look at Carragher's challenge on Pienaar in the first minute for a good example, but i don't care what anyone says i've seen the replay about 20 times and Kyrgiakos was obviously going for the ball.

I DIDN'T said "he hit" him... But he MENT TO DO SO, and the ref booked him for HIS intention to hit him.
I've played 12 years semi-pro footie and generally, even the players, are NOT aware about footie's rools.
Kyrgiakos booked with a directly red card, because HIS INTENTION was to hit him, NO MATTER what if he didn't!
That's all about it...
My problem is this... I know the lad, since he was PAO FC's player (and next, in Scots' Rangers, AEK FC etc.)... He's a hard lad, a passionate fellow, but many times also... "dirty".
It's hard to say that... but he is.
Check the youtube video I've post. It's from the last Greek League game (long time ago) between PAO FC & Olympiakos FC and the winner... would win the title aswell! That Olympiakos' player (Giovanni) made Kyrgiakos' evening very hard, because Kyrgiakos couldn't mark/tackle him good enough; and one moment (that, in this video), after a both fall on the pitch... Kyrgiakos GAVE A HARD PUNCH to Giovanni like a boxer..., covered by Giovanni's body and the ref NEVER saw him - because THAT action is a directly red card, by all means.

Pretty versatile, usually plays as a striker but I've seen him play on the left wing for Serbia.

Either way, this might mean the end of Babel.

Not good enough, that's the bottom line really.

What I wouldn't give for us to have Crouch, Bellamy or even Keane up front nowadays! Ngog just isn't good enough yet to hold his own up front against teams of the calibre of Arsenal and it really shows us up for having a complete lack of goal threat.

Why isn't Benitez giving Babel more of a chance? He shown once again today that when he wants to play, he's a threat. He's been chomping to play for a while and he'd offer MUCH more up front than Ngog currently is.

More shit refereeing at the end, you wont ever see such a clear handball not given as that by Fabregas. You couldn't even argue a case for him, his hand blatantly went up to block the ball. Shocking decision.

I thought we played well in the first half, almost as if we tried to play like Arsenal! We were making space for each other, quick passes, flicks, some really nice football. As expected though (and against Arsenal again), we failed to show anything in the second half whereas Arsenal get a kick up the arse from Wenger and come out a better team. Again.

The difference between watching Arsenal and other teams play football is just amazing really. Their passing and movement is just sublime at times and it's a joy to watch. I'm not jealous, honest :(

Oh, and Degen makes Traore and Biscan look world class.

Rafa's being stubborn again, Ngog has shown in recent games he's just not an one up striker like Torres, AND he doesn't have the strength and experience to do it.

I agree that Babel just waiting to be sold unlike what Rafa says. He won't give him the chance. Fabregas at the end was just hurrying, embarassed by what he did, to shake the ref's hands and go tata.

I wouldn't exactly call it clear, although it could be on the goalline and a Utd fan would still find some reason for it not to be what it is anyway I guess.

Until Utd fans stop coming in here after every single thing that they can possibly question and use as a stick to try and beat Liverpool, then no. I don't see why Utd fans are so interested in coming into a Liverpool thread and asking such daft questions anyway to be honest but there you go.

Like I've said before, quite why Utd fans spend so much time in this thread is beyond me. Especially when very little of any posts from them are even close to being constructive rather than an attempt at taking the piss or having a pop at the club/players/manager.

If you have nothing worthwhile to post in here, why post?

Guess most of us have got bored of seeing you lot lose and, dare I say it, maybe even feel a tinge of sympathy. ;)

I don't think he was asking for the Pen though, he was pointing to his hand indicating deliberate handball by Cesc. It might only have been a pen if Gerrard's the linesmen for the day :APPLAUD:

He wasn't gloating he was stating the obvious to all neutrals. And don't moan, Liverpool simply are not good enough. After last season Liverpool fans thought that they had a chance to win the Premiership this year, it turns out that you are simply not good enough. Be a man and face it...Man Utd is much, much better...and this is said by somebody who is supposed to hate Man Utd (which nonsense)...oh and it can always be worse...i'm a Spurs fan.

That post was clearly intended to cause an arguement and I'm sure Jumbo knew full well what he was posting. If he didn't want to try and provoke Liverpool fans, he couldve said it much differently. As it is, it was another wind-up attempt in my opinion. I'll start going into the United forum and posting questions in a similar way then, let's see what the reaction I get is then.

Any excuse to have a pop at Liverpool, it's that simple. Can we just keep this thread for actual discussion rather than baiting please?

Uhhh, we've been unbeaten for 6 or 7 games, first one we lose again and here you all are! :lol:

Have no idea about the penalty/handball stuff. They didn't show a replay of it over here as the game had ended. But then Gerrard diving to try and get the freekick in the first place was a bit pathetic so not bothered about it. If they have to moan about something in the last second of the game after having done f@#k all for the rest of it it says enough about the performance.

And yeah, Ngog isn't good enough yet to lead the line on his own, especially not against the likes of Arsenal (who are usually pretty good at containing Torres aswell). I have no idea why Maxi stayed on the pitch for so long, you can see it's not just a lack of match fitness, he's weak and scared most of the time aswell. That "challenge" on Eboue was sad, he looked scared of a high ball.

Don't have any complaints about the result, if you set the team up to play defensive and have "defenders" like Degen it's pointless. Even Kuyt was marking his man further back!

It's amazing how poor the squad is really, there aren't that many players out atm; Torres, Aquilani, Beni that I can think of.

I'd include Mascherano and Reina in that. But otherwise, while players are good, they're not world class. Some of them aren't even good either (Yes Degen, I'm looking at you).

Hicks said about this being a "big" summer and that's why we didn't spend in January. Whether that's because they're saving the money until summer or if he's expecting us to have new owners though...

It's not very original, but you guys miss Xavi Alonso.

On Benitez, i just reand an interview with Torres in FourFourTwo. Torres is crazy about Benitez, he tells that players learn every day from him.

To be honest (and as a neutral) i don't think Gerrard is a very fair player. I remember a derby against Everton where an Everton player committed a foul on him. The ref already had a yellowcard ready and mr. Gerrad had a quiet word with the the ref, who changed his mind: red card...very, very fair...

You mean when Hibbert brought him down for a penalty and should have had a red card anyway as he was the last man? That was clearly blown out of proportion as usual. Gerrard did what every single player on the planet would have done and simply said "i'm through on goal", now how is that not fair? Yes the referee had his book out first and then changed his mind, but he changed it to the correct decision.

I don't see how that makes Gerrard and unfair player though, he was through on goal and was going to shoot until Hibbert clattered into his legs and back, all footballers would react the same way if they saw the ref with a yellow card out for a fould by the last man.
