Re: Liverpool Thread
I propose a direct swap between Gattuso and Gerrard. Both seem to have lost motivation.

I'd take that![]()

Isn't Gattuso a DM? Can you imagine a midfield trio of Lucas, Masch and Gattuso???

Aquilani?
You can´t be serious, Gerrard is Gerrard, for me he will always be my heroe and will always be Mr Liverpool. For me, this season he wasnt awful, he didnt nowhere near his best, but that´s because this season Liverpool had made it very difficult for him and Torres, just throwing the ball to them and pray they can manage to score. Liverpool lost the transition between defense and attack and thats not Gerrard fault.I'd take that![]()

I also dont agree that he is a mediocre CM. Actually I think that is his best position and I ´d prefer Aquilani playing behind Torres rather than him.

. If Rafa can't get the team to string more then 3 passes together he's doing something seriously wrong.
"During the game it was very physical and the ball was always in the air. It would have been difficult to bring on a player for 15-20 minutes and keep the ball on the ground. We preferred to continue with the players we had because we were defending well and were a threat on the counter attack."

), but what u think would be the reaction of the majority of the "reds community" as a whole?
there are some rumours in italy about juventus and rafa, although the timing of the operation isn't clear yet; right now (very unlikely imo) or in the summer. are there any matching speculations in liverpool aswell?
and how do u feel liverpool fans would react to such a situation? i'm not asking your personal opinion here (not that i'm not interested in it), but what u think would be the reaction of the majority of the "reds community" as a whole?
and has someone already being mentioned as a possible successor of rafa?... i mean, there were some very good options available on the market till a few months ago (spalletti and mancini, just to name the 2 most interesting), but they're all gone somewhere else now... so who could possibly take the job? just a curiosity![]()

Personally? If we got a manager in who is a motivator, talks to players on a personal level, gets us to play attacking attractive football on the ground like we should be, and gives youth players more of a chance like Pacheco, Darby, Nemeth, Kelly, then I'd be happy.

i see. so he's a "quickie" kinda guy
Apparantly Hiddinck doesn't want to sign up for any long term projects, he wants short term deals.

yup that seems to be the biggest issue to me aswell. but i don't think it's about being defensive minded. it's more about "balance".We're capable of doing that under Benitez when he lets the players off the leash.

Good to me. Hiddink is a massive coach. I would fire Rafa and bring Hiddink in a minute, because Juventus is behind Rafa, so we wouldnt have to pay to him the 20 m.I think Hiddinck wants short-term as in no more than one year.
Seems like liverpool might be getting like Arsenal was in the last couple of seasons with Henry.
Everything had to be played through Henry and it was stifling the other players.
As soon as Henry left, our team started to play like a team again.
Sometimes no matter who the player is and how much of a legend they are, they need to go. The team needs to evolve and progress without them.
According to Sky Sport Italia, a meeting has taken place between Juventus and the legal team of Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez in Milan, with the Bianconeri pushing for a deal that will see the Spaniard take over in Turin immediately.
Reports have been rife in the press all week that tonight’s Coppa Italia game against Inter will be the last on the bench for coach Ciro Ferrara, who will then move upstairs into a director role.
A whole host of names have been linked as Ferrara’s successor, including Giovanni Trapattoni, Guus Hiddink, Alberto Zaccheroni and Claudio Gentile. The latter duo were believed to be the favourites, with speculation that one would take over on a short term contract until the end of the season when a big name would be appointed on a permanent basis.
One of these big names was Rafa Benitez, who had emerged over the last few days as the favourite for the permanent position.
However, Sky Sport Italia are now claiming that a meeting has taken place in Milan between Juventus and the Benitez legal team, with the Old Lady hoping to entice the Spaniard to Turin immediately. (Goal.com)
