Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

The one Rafa started when he said you'd have won the league if the 2 men had been fit more often?

Huge difference between saying that we could have had 4 more points if our two best players were fit, or saying that we're an average team without them.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It was a beach ball from the official Liverpool beach set. Who the fuck takes a beach ball to Sunderland of all places?!

Goal shouldn't have even stood:

From FIFA's Laws of the Game.

Referees duties:

"[He] stops, suspends, or abandons the game because of outside interference of any kind..."

How the fuck is a great big red ball that deflects a shot not classed as "outside interference"?...

Extra balls on the field of play:

"If an extra ball enters the field of play, the referee must stop the match, only if it interferes with play..."

What he said.

Re: Liverpool Thread

On seeing a replay, it looks more like the football is deflected in off Johnson and Johnson kicks the other ball out of the way.

Re: Liverpool Thread

This is fucking shocking, where is the desire and determination?! Unbelievable!

Edit: Fucking hell. I don't even know where to start .. 4 defeats from 9 games in the league? That's mid-table form!

RAWK has died

Re: Liverpool Thread

I didnt see the game, were we that bad today?

I wanna hear from lfc supports not these utd supports who keep commenting
cos all im gonna hear is "Liverpool's title hopes have been deflated. " - Thats pretty good tho Aboutreika18 lol

but seriously I read we just didnt show enough fight today...true?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Crap, that pretty much sums it up. Watched the last hour and we created one half chance. 1-0 was very kind, should have been 3-0.

They better buck up for the CL otherwise this season will be over before november.

Read my previous posts. No desire, no movement, no creativity, no edge to our attacks, defence was all over the place, huge lack of concentration.

Horrible.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I fucking hate football. That's my weekend ruined.

Btw, we were god awful.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It may be purely coincidence and the fact Sunderland are quite good now but this is why you get called a 2 man team.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I didnt think we'd be this bad so early in the season. We've scored alot of goals. Just defensively we aint right, not neccessarily the back 4s fault its a team effort.

Macha hasn't been on form, he needs to get over the fact that he isnt going barca this season. But we do need more creativity from midfield, lucas has been good this season but he needs to pass forward more benayoun has been great, kuyts been ok. But Riera has been terrible - I cant see how hes gonna improve his game now...i dont feel he has anything else in his tank. Hopefully he can prove me wrong

Re: Liverpool Thread

Perfect opportunity to shut up the '2 man team' bandwagon.

Re: Liverpool Thread

LOL..............I saw the goal, jeez that kid will be taking a beating.

Although I've heard Man City are in negotiations to buy the balloon.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Balloon 1 LFC 0

The balloon had a better game than Babel and sub Voronin. No urgency until too late, only after Mascherano brought on did we have any semblance of balance. We could have played till Tuesday CL time and still got nothing.

I'm going back to Unchartered 2 for the week now - football is doing my head in. Sunderland had a hatful of chances too.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I found the person responsible for the beach ball coming onto the pitch lol

Re: Liverpool Thread

Probably, you'll batter us next week, I can see it coming.

But y'know how it is, that one always gets thrown about, I just wanted to be the first to say it :P

Re: Liverpool Thread

It's a weird one because on one hand we're obviously in shite form, shockingly poor, and you'd think Utd would cane us.

But on the other hand if we're going to step our game up against anyone, it's going to be Utd or Everton.

It's going to be interesting but I'm not confident in any shape or form and I do expect us to be beaten.

Like I said earlier on Facebook, it's going to be a tough season for us I think. We all had a go at Rafa previously for him being defensive and not attacking enough. So this season he attacks more, we lose 4 out of 9. What's a man to do?

Back to the game:

"I thought it was a deflection off a player," said Sunderland manager Steve Bruce. "I have to say when I have just seen it there, if anybody knew that rule - that it is supposed to be a drop ball - then you are a saddo.

Right, but it's not our job to know those rules, we only knew it after the event. It IS the referee's job to know that rule and he obviously didn't.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think you over achieved last season. I said this for a while but I think your just not up their currently. Will be interesting battle for 3rd/4th and who falls into 5th.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah YG, you got it spot on when you said that. Liverpool had ALOT go their way last season, their best points total for years, it was unlikely they'd do so well again.

8th place is pretty harsh looking, but it does reflect your form and the only times you've looked decent was against the likes of Hull and Stoke at home. Obviously, you'll be challenging and within the top 5 places when we're in the final few weeks of the season but this I still think you're some way of challenging for the title consistently and Arsenal look more dangerous despite being written off every season.

Saying that, I expect you to up your game next weekend and beat us or get a draw.

Re: Liverpool Thread

TBH i thought it deflected off Johnson's boot, i mean how can a beachball alter the path of a football, it's not like they're the same weight.

Well that's utter bollocks and you know it. Unless the ball was lighter than air of course it would affect the flight of the ball. If i through a 26gram 90% tungsten dart at the bullseye of a dartboard through a balloon, the friction of the balloon would cause it to change direction.

The trouble is, the ball weighs more than 26g and the ball it hit wasn't a beach ball, but a plastic ball which - although lighter than the Nike ball - is heavy enough to deflect it in a different direction, watch the fucking replays before trying to be a cunt.

The referee made a stupid mistake but at the end of the day we were awful today, Spearing was piss-poor and no "but he's the local lad" explanations will make up for it, even in the pub i was in there were fickle bellends having a go at Lucas whenever Spearing made a mistake to try to take the focus off him. When Voronin came on in fact they were shouting "ohh here we go, game over" etc. when their local lad, the true Liverpool player, was utter shit all game.

Babel was shit, Kuyt was shit, Benayoun was shit, Aurelio was shit, Lucas was shit, Skrtel was shit, Spearing was shit, Johnson was shit..........

Johnson for some reason was the slowest decision maker ever today, he'd get the ball and run into the box and then completely forget what he was doing and stand still ffs.

This is the most frustrating game i've watched since the game against Sunderland under Houllier when we had 25 shots on target but drew 0-0.

Re: Liverpool Thread

FFS man, calm down it's a game and only my opinion, so i'm a cunt cause i thought the ball came of Johnsons foot??????, you'll give yourself a fucking heart attack...stress kills.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fucking no need to call him a cunt UJ, grow up, If it had happend to us you would be pissing yourself
