Re: Liverpool Thread

Fucking no need to call him a cunt UJ, grow up, If it had happend to us you would be pissing yourself

Don't worry about it mate, I've been called far worse, and not on an internet forum
:OOOH::OOOH::OOOH:
I'm old and sometimes wise enough not to let a shit result on a Saturday afternoon affect me now in the way it used to, and if UJ's ban had anything to do with his post towards me, I wasn't arsed about it, let the lad back in.

I think it was because he swore in the chatbox which is why he's banned?

He was a little over the top with his post in here but emotions are running high with Liverpool fans at the moment, I've been there myself and got worked up, and it's all just heat of the moment stuff really.

Re: Liverpool Thread

If you were to not win tomorrow and lose against us would you guys worry for Rafa's job?

Re: Liverpool Thread

No, they won't sack Rafa as he's just signed a new contract (5 years?) and the payoff to him would be HUGE! The Americans just haven't got the money to pay his compensation off. Rafa will only go if he chooses to (which wont happen based on form) or if we get new owners maybe.

Re: Liverpool Thread

it`s a loong season.... come near April the cream always raises to the top. Spurs,City and Villa can easily drop off and Everton could easily cruise to 5th.Anything is possible ,but I won`t buy into the hype just yet.

Re: Liverpool Thread

2 years of off the field term-oil does affect the manager and players. Its not an excuse of the lack of depth because im not basing this just on the beach ball game. The struggle between rafa and the owners can affect moral especially as its been on going for a real long time now & the talk of takeovers adds to the uncertainty. For example players haven’t seen adequate improvements in the squad and may feel their on a sinking ship because the Yanks havent invested thier own money, just borrowing against the club. And to compete at the top sufficient investment is always needed

I personally don't think we should sack rafa, all the top managers need alot of time to bring stability. Fergie dnt win the league within his 1st 5/6 years at UTD, although wenger did win it in his second season, But the long term success of both those clubs is due to them backing the manager. Whether you like or hate rafa he’s a top manager, there are no better replacements also. Keep him and let him improve on the squad also to let him get rid of some of the shit buys he brought in, which has done previously.

On current form were probably not gonna win the league! But getting rid of him isnt the answer, the players themselves have to take some responsibility for the losses too.

Most Utd supporters wouldn’t even know what it s like to have another manager so they have never even seen their club bring in a replacement because fergies been there for 23 yrs!

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think fergie wants david moyes to manage u guys wen he packs it in, even tho hes a bloody toffee...he would probably fit in well

Re: Liverpool Thread

Nah, it'll probably be someone within the club, like Solskjaer, or someone who knows the history of the club, like Blanc.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Or Bruce.

Anyway, wrong thread for discussing future United managers.

Re: Liverpool

Saw this before, it's terrible but still made me chuckle.

Fiorentina
Aston Villa
Chelsea
Tottenham
Sunderland

Re: Liverpool Thread

 Reckon tommorow's game will be quality. Lyon have alot about them this season. Don't give Lopez a chance or give Pjanić a freekick :))

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah Lisandro is one of the most under rated strikers in Europe in my opinion, he didnt get much recognition at Porto for some reason.

I think you'll snatch a confidence boosting draw or maybe even a win, I can't see you getting tanked again, especially with the big match at the weekend.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think quite simply, once we lose Fergie, we're fucked.
I know this is the wrong thread but I do agree. Man U will always be up there but the club literally IS Fergie in the same way Shankly (and to a lesser psychologically but ultimately more successful time under Paisley)was. It's going to be a huge task for anybody who has the bottle to take over. Especially with Utd, it's the fear factor of the manager that drives the players on.

Look at us, we still haven't completely recovered from the end of the Dalglish era.

Also, a lot of Man U fans seem to have forgotten how long it was before they won the league under Fergie - that they hadn't won it for 26 years.

Football has swings and roundabouts - as long as Everton don't dominate next, I'm happy!

Next manager? Well, there a a few sycophantic managers who haven't a hope (Big Sam!), a fellow Scot (Moyes) and then the cream of world football. Personally I could see Moyes taking over as what he has done on Everton's meagre funds is nothing short of amazing.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Lots of fans clamouring for Ngog to start tonight, I wouldn't disagree either. I've been impressed with him so far and I'd rather see him up front than Babel (who, frankly, shouldn't be allowed near the first team) and Kuyt.

5 goals in 16 appearances (most as sub) is pretty good considering the lad was completely unheard of, and most people still probably haven't got a clue who he is.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Might as well play N'gog, he's more of a threat that Kuyt will be because he's physically better built and quicker (I've never been able to judge his speed properly, but to be fair, pretty much everyone is quicker than Kuyt).

Certainly surprise Lyon to play him anyway, and maybe that's what you need, something new to shake things up.

Good post but that spelling made me laugh!

Well the fact its Lyon means Ngog might well be more up for it than usual.

Give him a chance with Stevie or Benayoun behind him.

Re: Liverpool Thread

He does want to leave its obvious from his body language and the way hes played. But he'll bite his tonge until january or may (at least). Good player but if he dont wanna say then he can Piss Off!

We won't see much of the money we sell him for, I would have loved to see cattermole at Anfield as a replacement as i thought macha was leaving in the summer. But hes injured and just signed for the black cats....cant see him leaving for a few yrs yet.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm confident we'll step it up tonight. We're in a bad run of form, and what better than a European home game for the crowd to get behind the team and us to halt the poor run. It's happened before and I think it'll happen again.

As for Mascherano, he needs to remember who got his career back on track after West Ham treated him like crap. I do think he wants to leave and I'd much rather he went and we gave Spearing a chance if he's going to throw strops all the time and whinge about Barca.

Edit:
1851: There are unconfirmed reports that Glen Johnson misses out for Liverpool tonight, with 19-year-old Martin Kelly starting at right-back. More on that soon.

 Bloody hell, Rafa! Bit of a big game to go with Kelly?! Confirmed Kelly is starting which is a bit crazy for me. He's going to be a very good player, sure. But he hasn't played all season and his first game since pre-season is a CL game against very good opposition? Big risk but we'll see ..

Good to see Ngog get a start, big confidence boost for the lad getting a striker start ahead of Babel, Kuyt and Voronin.

Re: Liverpool Thread

If Bastos is starting tonight, Kelly's going to have a nightmare.

EDIT: Ederson's starting down the left and I forgot that they got Cissokho at left back. Kuyt is going to need to track back a lot to help out by the looks of things.

Bastos is on the bench.

Lloris, Reveillere, Cris, Toulalan, Cissokho, Pjanic, Makoun, Kallstrom, Govou, Lopez, Ederson.
Subs: Vercoutre, Clerc, Michel Bastos, Gomis, Delgado, Belfodil, Gonalons.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Oh, and another thing, Toulalan is playing at centre-back due to their injury problems, so Liverpool shouldn't have any problems scoring a goal or two.
