Re: Liverpool Thread

YOSSI BENAYOUN is set to become the latest Liverpool star to commit his future to the Reds – after the Israeli international agreed terms on a new Anfield contract.

Benayoun has two years remaining on his current deal but after enjoying his best campaign yet in a Liverpool shirt last season, boss Rafa Benitez was keen to reward the 29-year-old with a contract extension.

Talks have now been concluded successfully and Benayoun is set to sign a one-year extension which will see him remain with Liverpool until 2012.

:D

Re: Liverpool Thread

Fucking yay!

Give him the No.10 shirt.

Can't believe we got him for 5M. Absolute fucking bargain.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Would be a crap signing for that amount.

EDIT: To be fair with the amount of money going around it isn't that bad but he's extremely inconsistent and a bit lightweight for the PL. Mata was in the Spain team ahead of him in the Confed Cup who would cost probably half that.

yeah still not convinced about Silva TBH, thats alot of money for someone who could turn out to be more inconsistent and less of a goal threat than Luis Garcia.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Word on the street is Pool is after Maicon.
Would improve your team by 10% IMO

Re: Liverpool Thread

12.46 Liverpool and Wigan are chasing Marseille ace Mathieu Valbuena, skysports.com understands.

I remember him being pretty decent when we played Marseille, anyone watched him regularly?

Re: Liverpool Thread

I also think Silva is too inconsistent and lightweight. He's ok to play in Valencia, but he would struggle in the Premier. I think he needs 2 more years to fully develop as a player and see if he can turn a solid performer.

It used to be the same with Iniesta until he fully developed 1 year ago into a great player. Silva could be a similar case, but for that money, right now, I would not bother.

About Maicon, I think it would be a stellar signing for Liverpool, mainly because he's one of the best crossers I've seen lately and Liverpool would do even more damage in aerial play if he was to run the right lane.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeah it does sound like bull, the prices for him are being quoted at £10m for fuck sake! He's easily worth £20m in the current market.
