Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Oh give over Abhi.

Football is a job, currently Owen doesn't have one, we offer him one and he'll take it.

He's long since held any affection for you anyway, Rafa saw to that.

Rafa saw to what?

Owen left despite Rafa offering him a new contract. Then when he was desperate to return Rafa told him if he waited a few months we could bring him back but we couldn't pay the £16m after letting him go for just £8m, if he'd waited a few months he could have come back to Liverpool but instead he panicked and went to Newcastle.

I think after leaving us in the lurch and going for such a small fee, then fucking us off again when asked to wait, this would just be expected of him tbh.

He's interested in a big pay cheque and his brochure was pathetic.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just looking at the squad numbers for next season, we don't have anyone with shirt number 3, 4, 6 or 7 yet.

Random fact of the day.

Also, no squad number for Dossena interestingly. Pacheco doesn't have a number either :(

surprised by that tbh, it must have been agreed with him in advance that Johnson would take the number 2.

No other number changes so far, can we start the season without a number 7?...

Re: Liverpool Thread

 Other than riling up you lot I have my doubts about the transfer aswell.

The only thing that caught my attention in that link was this.

So after all that, you're still pissed off?

I wouldn't be bothered.

Re: Liverpool Thread

wtf

that is a god awful transfer from our point of view... like tikitik was saying how hard could it have been for us to swoop for him? F

Re: Liverpool Thread

How is it awful for you?

The only way it'll affect your team is if he scores against you (and I'm not sure I'd stop laughing if that happened).

You lot are taking this way too seriously.

tbh i'm not pissed off about it, i'm just a bit disappointed that's all. I think it'd be the same if Beckham or Phil Neville or someone joined Liverpool for you lot. I don't think you'd be pissed off, just a bit disappointed that they'd go to your rivals after having a history with your club.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I kinda thought Rafa was going to sweep in at the last second and sign him. But I guess it means Rafa has someone else in mind for this window, cause he must recognise the lack of a 3rd choice striker.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Probably realises he'll break down at the wrong time. He might turn out to be an inspired signing for United in tandem with Rooney but it's a big if. The thing that disappoints me is that Owen being from the same school as I went to, is going to MU - him being an Everton fan and having played for Liverpool. Goes to show that MO is really just EMO.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm not worried about the transfer, i really don't see him as a threat, I don't think he will play enough games for you lot either.

However,

Owen was my boyhood hero growing up, and hes just stabbed me in the back. He is a little mercenary narccisist twat. He wants to retire and read back over his career, wow look at all the clubs I've played for.

Just despicable IMO.

The mind games begin :D Lets go and sign Ruud, someone else to sit on the bench injured but rile up our rival fans.

Beckham and Phil Neville have moved on with their careers, they've done their own thing and I respect them for wanting to try something new.

I can honestly say if they signed for you then it wouldn't bother me much at all. I'd be bothered if they contributed towards a goal against us that won the match, but nothing else.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Really pleased that we've brought Kenny back and we're revamping the youth system. There aren't many (if any) Liverpool names bigger than Kenny that would work better than he can with youth and commercial business and the club have pulled a masterstroke there I reckon :D

Makes you wonder though, why didn't this happen before? Moores and/or Parry blocking it maybe?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Could be, we'll never know I guess. I still can't remove this bad taste in my mouth about Owen becoming a Red Devil.
