Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I wish we bought our boy Walcott when we had the chance ... another c*ck up by Rafa ...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Anyone read Fowler's autobiography? Houllier tried to sign Keane before he went to Spurs but Keane backed out because he'd already moved around too much.

I thought Keane said we'd tried to sign him when he was first breaking into football, he didn't say anything about this occasion.

Re: Liverpool Thread

JAMIE CARRAGHER has hit out at Liverpool’s American owners, claiming they only bought the club because they see it as “a money-making opportunity”.

Carragher is the first Liverpool player to publicly criticise Tom Hicks and George Gillett, whose popularity has plummeted since buying the club in February 2007.

“For richer or poorer, we’d sold Liverpool to two ruthless businessmen who saw us as a money-making opportunity,” he writes in Carra: My Autobiography.

“They didn’t buy Liverpool as an act of charity; they weren’t intent on throwing away all the millions they’d earned over 50 years.

“They wanted to buy us because the planned stadium offered a chance to generate tons of cash and increase the value of the club.”

Carragher believes the owners’ worst mistake was claiming no debt would be put on the club’s balance sheet when in fact the loans used created annual interest payments of about £30m.

“Breaking this vow set the first alarm bells ringing, the embarrassing continual changing of the stadium plans was irritating too,” he wrote.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Told you they'd play! All cr*p from Benitez. And lo and behold neither are buggered and tired from Wednesday international duty. What a coincidence.

Wish we had our '1 man team' back. Sigh.

quite alot of our players didnt play midweek either or in the case of VDS Scholes Carrick Hargreaves & Giggs, have been @ the club for the past two weeks.

Personally dont think either team could blame the international break this time around!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Well there goes the back-against-the-wall spirit mentioned here a couple of days ago ..

Who'll score?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Possebon.

Really, really excited about that boy. His composure and pass selection is unmatched in the reserves, and he has a cracker of a shot too. Hoping he gets chances and doesn't move away ala Rossi. A bit of a potential Fabregas methinks (obviously not at that level yet, but similar attributes!)

Re: Liverpool Thread

No chance of that ^^^ Skrtel's not looked himself lately and Tevez is on form.

If there's one thing I've learned from United-Liverpool games, it's that it's never the players on form, or the world class players that make the difference. Doesn't matter if someone is in form or not. This is just different.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Shocking first 5 minutes, and big mistake by Mascherano.

Otherwise, I'm shocked. We've actually played well, and there seems to be a tempo to our. Benayoun and Arbeloa are working on the right brilliantly, and Riera's been class.

Babel on, and we win.

Agreed. Not like us to be the better team!!! Lets hope Babel gets that winner.
