Another young striker joining us, David Ngog. One of the best young strikers in France, though we heard that about Le Tallec as well.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Jean-Alain Boumsong's cousin as well, which doesn't bode well.

Re: Liverpool Thread

 this guy has overhyped disaster written all over it!...BUT you never now! :))

Re: Liverpool Thread

Is he the N'gog from PSG? The famous "Dubbed the new Anelka" in FM 2006?
That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw his name! I bought him a few times. He was a decent signing as well but FM isn't always right!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Nope, we all know how Bakayoko and co turned out

But then I have learnt the names of a load of good players through FM too.

Wouldn't really say overhyped, nobody is expecting anything from him as nobody really knows him outside France (and FM). Only cost £1.5m so not really a gamble either.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just been looking at the AFC Liverpool website:

"Club Patrons: John Aldridge, Vegard Heggem, Erik Meijer"

Heggem! Anyone remember him?

AFC Liverpool play only ten minutes drive away from me, I think I might go to a few of their games :TU:

Re: Liverpool Thread

What do you mean patrons?

Yeah I know him during my Football Manager in the early days. Good full back. He's ages ago lol.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Ah Heggem, shame about the injuries. Read that he went to instanbul aswell. Was seen lying drunk outside the airport waiting for a plane back, briljant!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Not really boo your captain who's gave so much to the club already though.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I think its fickle in this situation as Barry is leaving for football reasons, if it was for money then i could understand it more.

Exactly :TU:

After eleven years of service and working so hard for them, I think they should respect him a bit more and understand he's got to a stage where he needs to think about winning something (which we're more likely to do than Villa, or not if you're a Manc).

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hopefully we'll hear some news about Keane today or tomorrow, pretty much everywhere has stated we'll have him by the weekend so only a matter of time

You think we'll sign anyone else besides Keane and/or Barry?

Hopefully Downing. Or Silva (I can dream, no?)

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm hoping Pacheco has a part to play for us this season, he's looked outstanding for his age and he's clearly got bags of skill and potential.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool winger Sebastian Leto has confirmed he is close to agreeing a loan move to Olympiakos.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez has informed Leto he is willing to loan him out as he is well down the pecking order at Anfield.

Leto's stay at Liverpool has been placed in doubt because of a passport fiasco.

The Argentine currently holds an Italian passport to enable him to win a work permit, but Italian authorities are thought to be carrying out an investigation on the validity of a number of citizenship decisions.

The 21-year-old has revealed he has spoken to Olympiakos manager Ernesto Valverde and he admits he would be interested in a move to Greece.

"I spoke with the people of the club [Liverpool] and our decision is to leave the club and to play somewhere else on loan for one season," Leto told Greek daily SportDay. "I have to play football next season.

"My agents are in Athens. They speak with Olympiakos for my loan.

"Their manager, Ernesto Valverde called me. He told me that he is really interested in having me at his team. He told me about his thoughts and everything. For me its really important to have a manager who speaks my language.

"I spoke with some friends who know everything about Olympiakos and they told me that this is the biggest club in Greece, that they always win the championship and they always play Champions League football.

"I heard a lot also about the fans of Olympiakos. I know also that Galletti, Ledesma and Belluschi are players of Olympiakos and they are really good, they are players of national team level.

"I have some offers from Italy and Spain but Olympiakos is the best club for me at the moment."

Leto has been assured he has a long-term future at Liverpool by Benitez and he is just hoping to have his passport problems resolved so that he can move to Greece.

He added: "I am still waiting for the community passport. Liverpool will wait for it until 31st of July.

"Of course, my dream is to play football here in Liverpool.

"I spoke with Rafa Benitez and he told me that he wants me but I can't stay without the passport.

"He advised me to go somewhere else to play for one season and to return next summer. He is right."

I can tell you for sure this guy is really average, his behaviour sucked when he was with PSG ,he 's lazy But he is good with the ball despite being tall but he really needs to work and let's hope for you benitez will get the best out of him contrary to Paul Le Guen who completely failed.
