Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I guess Martin O'Sh*t can't stop sputtering sh*t, he pisses me off all the time everytime he talks about the Barry saga. But, I guess he's keeping the media happy with constant talking of the same boring stuff "I can sell at whatever price I want for Barry, and if the other side doesn't like it, I can play We want him more than them".

Can't stand it ...

Re: Liverpool Thread

Should be done tomorrow, but it wouldn't suprise me If we won't see him in a red shirt until friday afternoon.

Re: Liverpool Thread

yes peter here we go again!
i cant be banned for telling the truth , stating the facts, its just you dont like the truth. Im looking forward to the new season as im sure you all are, we had some great debates last season all be it a bit heated at times.

Re: Liverpool Thread

NEW Liverpool signing Philipp Degen is facing the prospect of missing the start of the season with a groin strain.

Degen could require surgery on the injury, which was sustained during the team’s pre-season training camp in Switzerland last week.

The right-back, who arrived on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, missed much of last season with a groin problem.

Degen required an operation to repair the damage but, despite his efforts to regain his full fitness, he failed to get off the bench for Switzerland during last month’s European Championships.

The 25-year-old’s absence would be another setback to Rafael Benitez, who is already without Beijing-bound trio Lucas Leiva, Ryan Babel and Javier Mascherano for the opening weeks of the campaign.

And with Alvaro Arbeloa’s Anfield future uncertain, it could persuade Benitez into keeping hold of Steve Finnan.

One player Benitez is confident of being available is Robbie Keane, with the striker’s move to Liverpool expected to move another step nearer when he undergoes a medical today.

The Anfield outfit are hopeful of pushing through a deal that could ultimately be worth £20m for the Tottenham Hotspur forward.

Re: Liverpool Thread

How lovely. Steve Finnan as our first choice right back next season

Re: Liverpool Thread

ROBBIE KEANE today completed his medical - edging the striker ever closer to sealing a £20m move to Anfield.

The Irish international arrived in Liverpool last night and was booked in for a series of tests at a Merseyside hospital.

A fee of £18m with add ons of up to £2m has been agreed with Spurs and terms have been agreed with the player.

Keane is thought to have undergone a medical and could even fly to Spain and join his new team-mates as early as Tuesday ahead of their friendly against Villarreal.

 Really excited now, quality player. Interesting to see what the reactions of people are who thought we'd never get Keane and that it was a load of nonsense :DD

Re: Liverpool Thread

With Gerrard in the middle, Keane and Torres will form a pretty good partnership. Great signing.

I still want Barry to come but if we can't sell Alonso then I don't think it will happen.

Re: Liverpool Thread

It does appear that we're no longer interested in Barry. I really do get the impression that the vast majority of fans want Alonso instead of Barry too.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Congrats on Keano. I always rated him and he was almost always on my ML team :D If he can give liverpool his all and form a partnership with Torres like he did with Berba then you guys in for a treat :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Aye, a very exciting signing.

Last time I was this excited, we signed Kewell......:D

BBC now reporting its all but wrapped up, he just needs to be unveiled.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I still don't want Barry if we'll have to sell Xabi for him. Nice to see that Keanes transfer is nearly done. About the right defender: I heard about Arbeloa going out for 4M and buying Rafinha because he's got some problems with Schalke because of Olympia...but Schalke's manager said that he won't leave...but you never can be sure. It's even possible that we play with Carra on the right and Agger and Skrtel in middle...we'll see.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Carra doesn't like playing Full Back for England so why would he like to play there for Liverpool? Rafa has alot to think about this season. 3 Starting CB competing for 2 position :)

LOL ....

His or Crouchie?

Btw, he's not even here, and here we are targeting whose Missus is the best :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Keane's missus is a typical generic WAG.

uh...um back to football, great signing.
One thing that I like about him is that
he is not afraid of taking a chance
(think of curler against Chelsea last season)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Keane is Kuyt but a little weaker/shorter, but with more pace, more skill, more creativity and a better eye for goal.

I think that is Rafa's thinking on the matter. And I'm with Rafa.

The thing about Friday is that it is alway friday whenever we have press conferences.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Great signing, I think he'll do really well.

That video was nowhere near as good as the last one that was done for Ronaldo. Looks like it's by someone else.

Re: Liverpool Thread

YESHHHHHHHHHH!!

Who says we cannot finish in the top 3 this year? Maybe 2?
