Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm VERY VERY surprised to see Fowler in the top flight again. Made up for him but a very odd signing by Ince.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Possibly, maybe he's also helping with the young strikers. He's only on a pay-as-you-play scheme so there must be another reason he went there rather than go to Toronto or somewhere where he'd earn a wage each week as well as probably playing more too.

Re: Liverpool Thread

If only we were actually interested seriously ...

Do Arsenal need that type of player?

Sorry but you lot dont have a chance! or quarter the cash they want, Spurs?! Seriously can see this being the start of the end of Ronaldo at Utd.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Xabi as part of the Aguero deal? Xabi is exactly what Atletico need.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Where do you think Carra, Skrtel and Agger will fit in?

Edit: Obviously CB's but do you think he'll play Carra at right back? In which case, we'll have Degen, Carra and Arbeloa competing for RB. Possibly Finnan too I suppose.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Guess Carra will play quiet a few games at right back. And we'll probably see more rotation at center back. Pretty sure Carra-Agger will the starting CB pairing though.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hmm I'm not sure if I'd rather play Skrtel instead of Carra though ...

Re: Liverpool Thread

WHAT????????????

I knew it's going to be a problem about this when we bought Skrtel, thinking Skrtel might need time to settle in but that notion's out of the door. A good problem to have but I think it's always Agger and Carra, Skrtel at the bench but many rotations.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Stoke City have agreed a fee of around £4m with Liverpool for England international goalkeeper Scott Carson, BBC Radio Stoke understands.

£4m?! Bit of a drop from the £10m Rafa was asking for! With Crouch going for a fair bit less than wanted, now Carson, I wonder if Pennant will go to Blackburn for £1?

Re: Liverpool Thread

In all honesty there was no way Carson was worth 10M when you consider Spurs buying Gomes for 7M.

On the Aguero story, you lot seem to have a upper hand as this Athetico star also is a Scouse fan :(

Re: Liverpool Thread

Bloody hell, that changes things a bit!

Torres and Aguero

If only we had the money though :((

Re: Liverpool Thread

They played together for 1 season, apparantly it didnt work that well. Alonso and cash for him?

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeh probably, 10M from Crouch, Pennant, Carson and the others could get you the other 10M.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Gosh 4 mil for Carson ...... *gutted*

Is this Rick Parry's fault or what?

I watched a lot of Atletico that season, and that is kind of a myth. Aguero hardly played more than 20 games that season, and it was his first big season anyways. Aguero has a wonderful partnership with Forlan, and Torres is a similar player, just a few levels above in terms of class.

About Carson, how can you be surprised? Average, average keeper. Get it done to recover our payment for Cavalieri, and make a profit on Itandje. Then put the fucking money in for a bid of Aguero. Xabi + 15M, and Aguero gets the No. 7 shirt.

GET IT DONE

Re: Liverpool Thread

Carson was great before Liverpool bought him, just like Kirkland, up and coming goalkeeper, the problem is Liverpool most of the time has somebody even better between the post.

Im sure he will;))

Re: Liverpool Thread

Good signing, I'm pleased with our signings so far.

Would be a brilliant signing. Can't wait for him to develop a partnership with Torres. Could be the most feared striking pair in Europe.

Re: Liverpool Thread

"Myself and Steve Walford both know Arsene Wenger's assistant Pat Rice," O'Neill told The Sun.

"He phoned Steve to ask how the Liverpool thing had gone and said that they might show an interest.

"At the end of the conversation Arsenal said 'that's fine' and that they'll let us know. That is exactly what happened."

Is O'Neill trying to force our hand and make us stump up? Sounds like it to me.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Haha, O'Neill, what a fucking hypocrite. Publically declaring Arsenal's interest.
