Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

hey boys give voronin a chance. i think he is a good solid player. the thing is is that to be fair he dont have any weeknesses hes just not great at any one thing. if he gets to 100% fitness and im talking match fit then maybe we will get to see the voronin rafa signed!

i REEEEEEAAAAAALLLY dont want barry! cant we get quaresma??

Re: Liverpool Thread

Oh he's bad at finishing .. quite evident last year even before he got injured.

I REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY don't want Quaresma .. can't we get Bentley? :)

Re: Liverpool Thread

“We are working really hard and are close to finishing some deals. We are hoping to progress with some big names and players who can improve us in the future.

The big names part is interesting, at least we'll be signing known players and not just youth players.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Yeh, that was interesting. My summer prediction would be

Cavalieri
Degen
Dossena
Barry
Keane
Silva or Downing

Would be absolutely made up with that. Much better than I expected.

Re: Liverpool Thread

i dont think he will tbh. Valencia are in a pretty poor financial state. and i think 15-16mil will land him.

the reason i would like quaresma is because he seems to have matured abit now and he can be unpredictable. bentleys ok but seriously tho say he signs for liverpool how long untill he feels to big there?

about Voronin...i have to disagree i think he is a good finisher...not a pure killer but good. ive watched him since his time in the buli...and thats why i was glad we got him especially for free.

Re: Liverpool Thread

If they rejected 25m for David Villa from Barcelona, I'm quite sure £15m is not enough for Silva imo. I also believe Silva and VIlla won't move at all.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has revealed his interest in signing Robbie Keane, but has ruled out a move for David Villa.

Benitez is in the market for striking reinforcements with Peter Crouch on the verge of a move to Portsmouth and has been linked with moves for Tottenham star Keane and Valencia hit-man Villa.

Keane's future at White Hart Lane has been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, with reports suggesting Spurs would listen to offers for the Republic of Ireland international.

Villa has been a long-term target for Benitez, but the former Valencia boss admits it is unlikely the Reds will be signing the Euro 2008 top scorer.

"I said the other day that he is one of the names we had on our list, but I can say at this moment that it is not an option for us," said Benitez.

"We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names, but at this moment, not our target.

"Keane is one of the other names and okay we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now."

That's Dossena's 'Smile for the Camera'.

Hahaha, god help Premier League right wingers.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Silva is going to cost a lot more than Barry will. That list is going to cost a lot of money.

Hardly, if it's going to be almost like for like replacements. Degen's on a free, Barry for Alonso, Dossena for Riise, Cavalieri for Itandje, Keane for Crouch + some cash. And we'll get extra money from sales of Carson, Pennant etc. That's seems to be our theme this year. Sell players, and buy upgrade for slightly more.

Personally, I'd be as happy with Downing as I would be with Silva.

Re: Liverpool Thread

apparently Alonso's move to juve is off. and at this moment i dont see anyone bidding for him...wel im hoping they dont. i wouldnt mind robbie keane or downing but if i got offered silva instead of downing i would take it.

valencia may have rejected 25 for villa, but just because they rejected that doesnt mean that 15 for a DIFFERENT player would make any difference.

thats bad nes for you's tho right?

if alonso doesnt go then theres no funds for barry. (so the papers say)

Re: Liverpool Thread

Wow now what ... if Alonso stays then Barry won't move to Liverpool, where will he move?

Re: Liverpool Thread

I don't understand why can't you have both?

Got to be the money right?

Cause Mascherano and Lucas are going to Olympics and the formation last season had 3 central players.

So why not Barry-Xabi-Gerrard?
Season is long anything can happen, injuries and cards.
Champions have good bench.

If the reason is money then sorry

Re: Liverpool Thread

No idea. Nobody really knows these youth players until we sign them. From what I've seen, the vast majority of them are playing superb in the reserves so i'm confident.

Re: Liverpool Thread

rumour is keane has put in transfer request and we have got him

if anyone of you know Elisa scott, thats the source

Re: Liverpool Thread

GOT him already? Hmmm ...

SCOTT CARSON is set to depart Anfield as Rafa Benitez attempts to raise the funds he needs to make an offer for top target Robbie Keane.

The England international keeper is likely to follow Danny Guthrie through the exit door after Liverpool accepted an offer from Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle for the midfielder, who spent last season on loan at Bolton.

Guthrie will now hold talks with Keegan and if personal terms can be agreed the deal will give the 21-year-old the first team football he craves but was unable to secure at Anfield.

Liverpool have two offers on the table from rival Premiership clubs for Carson, who is keen to quit the Reds after spending last season on loan at Aston Villa, and Benitez is happy to do business.
