Well sorry mate just want to clarify that just in case. I guess you haven't seen what he's done at liverpool (2nd stint)? Okay he didn't play as many games as we like, but the thing is he was very immobile when he was here. He wasn't running fast enough, he wasn't positioning better enough and he wasn't finishing the efforts during his last spell here. I think mostly because he wasn't completely healed to make it a fair go.

I wouldn't bet my money on Fowler scoring 11 goals with only 9 starts for the whole season like Crouch did. Can't agree on everything I guess.

What Barry would bring you cannot quantify now, I HOPE (big hope!) he would bring the best of Gerrard like when he plays with him for England. And I do think Rafa might be able to improve his game more when he comes here. So maybe no improvement .. now, but later? Big big possibility.

yea crouch may have had 11 in 9 starts but i bet that he didnt actually score the 11 in the 9 starts.... i think crouch only made 9 starts in this season and im certain he got goals from the bench. well i kno fowler didnt move as fast but i think with the chances he had he did well. i just think that the IF they could have created more chances he would have scored more. and yes i think he needed to heal more but i think he was decent enough. people say about the way barry plays with gerrard ok he has looked good but most of the time its against weaker teams...e.g trinidad.

im not convinced he is in liverpools quality. put it this way masch, xabi and lucas would all be infront of him if i was gaffer.

Let's be honest, if Rafa was confident of getting him, he wouldn't have gone public like this. Obviously Rafa wants Villa. Every top maanger in Europe wants him. Same with Silva. It's just that we will probably end up with Keane and Downing instead.

for a start it was obvious during euro 08 that nando and villa aint the best together, apart, awesome both of them, i would say nando defo does not want villa to come and take the glory of him , for villa , same thing , he enjoys being a one man band.

And keane loves spurs , he is going no where lads. dont believe the hype.

I think O'Neill is having a laugh at wanting £17m AND Finnan, Rafa should just tell him to piss off. At the end of the day, Barry wants to leave and O'Neill holds all the cards here, holding Liverpool to ransom.

Lerner wont want to have someone unhappy on his books, paying him £50k a week or whatever he's on. Rafa needs to call their bluff on this one.

You'll pay up for Barry IMO, Villa will stay put IMO. Also seems like you'll have a tough start to the season with Lucas, Mascherano and Babel all missing the start of the season as their of to the Olympics.

I don't think we'll miss Lucas as he wasn't first choice anyway really. We'll definately miss Mash unless we get Barry. Babel depends on whether we get a left-winger or not.

I'll be shocked if we pay 17M + Finnan. 15M + Finnan would be our final offer, and that's that. Not too bothered with the players leaving. Got enough cover in center mid, and Yossi is more than adequate replacement for Babel.

Didn't really rate Itandje, poor at coming out for crosses. Decent shot-stopper but not a particularly good player at all.

It was a last minute transfer as Carson was loaned out, and we didn't have a backup keeper.

About Itandje, he's a good keeper. He's got great reflexes, but is always prone to silly mistakes and stupid decisions. He's still young though, and can improve.

Arn't you guys looking at Voronin? :DD

I can't see it mate. I really don't see Voronin cutting it in our league, or the Premier League in general. A club of our stature shouldn't have to put up with players of his calibre, Nemeth would be a better option.

Nemeth is unproven at EPL, so I wouldn't put my hopes too high for him just yet. Not to be a Pony fan, but Voronin can't do much worse than last season, he will get plenty of tips from the coaches and, if as it looks now, will perform better next season. 1st seasons is always the hardest (except for Torres :p)

Meh, don't know about Voronin. He's basically a utility attacker. Play him up front, on the wings, or behind the striker. Given that we're signing Keane, and also have Kuyt, would it make any sense to keep the Voronator?

Don't get me wrong, he's a decent player. Just suffering because he wasn't able to fully recover from injury, and fans have forgotten how good he was at the beginning of the season.
