Re: Liverpool Thread
Just refreshing my post to show the evidence of all the glory hunting hick and gillet supporting posts.
Proving just I said that there were many here willing to give up the clubs tradition and values for money and glory just so they could finally compete with the likes of United and Chelsea. Who are the glory hunters now?
Below is Daga JT himself along tiktiktik and a few others who were so eager and willing for the club to sell to the owners just so they could taste some success.
Here's another one excited by all the money that was promised by your owners

well unfortunately thats football. For a big club Liverpool have held on too their traditions as long as possible, thats left them struggling to compete financially with Man u and chelsea and even Arsenal, so this was always needed to happen.
The man tells the truth. We've got the money and we can mix it with Utd on the transfer front now. We're getting there, each year we're getting closer to challenging/winning the league though. And this year I feel we have got a squad to really compete with Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal.

Sorry, I missed this earlier.
The US bid is made up of TWO very wealthy businessmen. They are splitting it 50-50. The deal includes a guaranteed 215m towards the stadium. The cost of the stadium is likely to be around that mark, but judging by the current price of commodities, that will probably rise to 300m+
225m is to buy out the shareholders and wipe out debt. So in total its 470m. Not exactly a bad deal. Stadium sharing has been ruled out, and it is rumoured in the papers, tabloid and broadsheet that Benitez will have 100-150m to spend in the summer.
Not exactly a rip-off eh?.
Looks the Gillet deal is on the way then....Had a relook of the deal and it looks good. Hope the club benefits from it in the long term![]()
From what ive read it doesnt look like there will be an infinite transfer budget. With the two already owning sportclubs they will be looking to make it a profitable business out of it. Thats a big difference from chelsea isnt it? Wasnt their wagebill 110% of their turnover? We'll be better off surely.
USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA
Welcome aboard y'all!!!
Looks like DIC have pulled out. Call me a bigot, but I'd rarther an American business man has control of the club than an Arab royal family with a rather merky past..
Apparently Gillet had ruled out the groundshare possibility.
The team he runs in Canada or wherever it is, is apparently one of the best run teams in the country.
DIC took far too long to look at the books I'm afraid.

I approached the arrival of Hicks and Gillett with an open mind, and gave them the benefit of the doubt following some impressive soundbites when taking charge, and allowing Benítez to finally sign an expensive world-class player in the summer.
All in all these two seem to be a perfect fit and have the necessary funds and experience in the right areas to really make this club a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field. This deal has brought us everything we could have hoped for.
This takeover has received a cautious welcome by Liverpool fans and there are a few who don’t seem to welcome it at all, but I have to say, I’m delighted. As far as I’m concerned, we’re a damn sight better off now, then we have been for many years. I admit that no matter who took over, I’d be saying that we’ve got to support them and give them a chance. However, I really like these guys.
They are winners and I’m excited about the future of the club in their hands. So I welcome Mr Gillett and Mr Hicks and I truly believe that with the club in their hands, the future will be bright, the future will be RED!
