Liverpool Thread

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just refreshing my post to show the evidence of all the glory hunting hick and gillet supporting posts.
Proving just I said that there were many here willing to give up the clubs tradition and values for money and glory just so they could finally compete with the likes of United and Chelsea. Who are the glory hunters now?

Below is Daga JT himself along tiktiktik and a few others who were so eager and willing for the club to sell to the owners just so they could taste some success.

well unfortunately thats football. For a big club Liverpool have held on too their traditions as long as possible, thats left them struggling to compete financially with Man u and chelsea and even Arsenal, so this was always needed to happen.

The man tells the truth. We've got the money and we can mix it with Utd on the transfer front now. We're getting there, each year we're getting closer to challenging/winning the league though. And this year I feel we have got a squad to really compete with Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal.

Here's another one excited by all the money that was promised by your owners

Sorry, I missed this earlier.

The US bid is made up of TWO very wealthy businessmen. They are splitting it 50-50. The deal includes a guaranteed 215m towards the stadium. The cost of the stadium is likely to be around that mark, but judging by the current price of commodities, that will probably rise to 300m+

225m is to buy out the shareholders and wipe out debt. So in total its 470m. Not exactly a bad deal. Stadium sharing has been ruled out, and it is rumoured in the papers, tabloid and broadsheet that Benitez will have 100-150m to spend in the summer.
Not exactly a rip-off eh?.

Looks the Gillet deal is on the way then....Had a relook of the deal and it looks good. Hope the club benefits from it in the long term :D

From what ive read it doesnt look like there will be an infinite transfer budget. With the two already owning sportclubs they will be looking to make it a profitable business out of it. Thats a big difference from chelsea isnt it? Wasnt their wagebill 110% of their turnover? We'll be better off surely.

USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA, USA
Welcome aboard y'all!!!

Looks like DIC have pulled out. Call me a bigot, but I'd rarther an American business man has control of the club than an Arab royal family with a rather merky past..

Apparently Gillet had ruled out the groundshare possibility.

The team he runs in Canada or wherever it is, is apparently one of the best run teams in the country.

DIC took far too long to look at the books I'm afraid.

Here is some more quotes below from match going ones

I approached the arrival of Hicks and Gillett with an open mind, and gave them the benefit of the doubt following some impressive soundbites when taking charge, and allowing Benítez to finally sign an expensive world-class player in the summer.

All in all these two seem to be a perfect fit and have the necessary funds and experience in the right areas to really make this club a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field. This deal has brought us everything we could have hoped for.

This takeover has received a cautious welcome by Liverpool fans and there are a few who don’t seem to welcome it at all, but I have to say, I’m delighted. As far as I’m concerned, we’re a damn sight better off now, then we have been for many years. I admit that no matter who took over, I’d be saying that we’ve got to support them and give them a chance. However, I really like these guys.
They are winners and I’m excited about the future of the club in their hands. So I welcome Mr Gillett and Mr Hicks and I truly believe that with the club in their hands, the future will be bright, the future will be RED!

Bloody hell, talk about spam

Has any Liverpool fan not got this guy on ignore then? Is anyone actually reading his posts still? He's clearly desperate to keep his name at the top of the Liverpool thread but I'm not actually sure anyone is even reading

Re: Liverpool Thread

 Thats why you keep having a peak at my posts to quote them to complain to the mods about them right?

I'm actually having a fairly reasonable debate with UJSupanova regarding glory hunting fans. So you don't need to get involved

Re: Liverpool Thread

Remy due to arrive in Liverpool tomorrow, £12m signing, 5-year contract.

Story is now on Sky Sports as well.

tbh it probably would be a debate had i actually said anything along the lines of "no Liverpool fans supported the Americans when they took over", but the truth is i didn't say that, or anything remotely close to that.

All i said is that you won't find any quotes attributed to ME which supports their ownership of my club. I don't care what others have said on the subject.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Just for clarificatipn, I'm not a psychic by the way. And I don't know anyone who is able to predict the future either.

If I was a psychic, I certainly wouldn't be on this forum

Re: Liverpool Thread

Remy must be desperate he has an offer from WHU. He wanted to join Arsenal ,but they have too many upfront . I wonder if pool buys him for the sake of it just encase he becomes brilliant. He needs a new agent if you ask me.

and no shame to think the American owner were going to deliver they moved on your fears. Hell , I thought you lots were going to be the new Chels at the time. Buying a new stadium needed a plan layout not just throwing money at a concrete jungle. Even they know the impossibility of building in the states you need a few senators for that. There`s a book called "The Making of a Modern Super-club" by Alex Fynn. It`s eye opening stuff beware no pop up or pictures you must read to understand.

Re: Liverpool Thread

£7.5m up front with the rest in installments. From what I've read he sounds like a very good player and will (hopefully) work well with Torres.

You slandered and called me a glory hunter so I responded by mentioning that no doubt you came on here after liverpool's champions league heroics. While mentioning your fans are littered with glory hunters as I've just proven.

No your clearly not a psyhic and clearly not that astute at knowing what's best for your club.

 Oh dear...

Hodgson seems to be shutting down the Remy rumour:

Roy Hodgson today played down reports that Liverpool are on the verge of signing Nice striker Loic Remy.

The France international has been linked with a move to the Barclays Premier League throughout the summer, but Hodgson has reacted coolly to suggestions he is poised to arrive at Anfield.

"He's a player who was mentioned to me by the scouting department and a player the club were following before I came," Hodgson told his press conference in Switzerland.

"He's a player I know very little about. If I am going to be interested in a player I am going to have to watch him playing, study him and make judgments which I have not been able to."

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hogdson has no say in transfers they're all decided by your CEO christian Parslow. He is just there to coach the players ala kevin keegan for newcastle.

So he would have no idea about remy. I thought you boys would know that considering it's your club.

Whereas Man Utd have no glory hunters at all. In fact every Man Utd fan is from Greater Manchester and only follows them because their parents told them to, not because they're big and successful. You're an idiot and a hypocrite as a Man Utd fan accusing Liverpool fans of being glory hunters as most Premier League fans will tell you that on most Sundays the pubs in London are full of cockney United fans watching the match.

I hate glory hunters more than most, i'm sure a lot of people on here will tell you that, i've had enough arguments about it in the past. I live less than 500 yards from the back of The Kop (324 yards to be exact) and i only came on this forum for Pro Evo updates, i only really started posting in the Liverpool thread a couple of years ago.

Thus, you're talking shite again.

Re: Liverpool Thread

I was never going to to search through your posts which is just sad and a waste of time which is what you wanted me to do for strange weird reason. Maybe you're creep who likes special attention.

Hypocrite?

I was waiting for the right moment and I think it's time.

See you.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Hang on, not going to search through posts? Isn't that exactly what he did at the top of the page? :FAIL:

Great way to start my weekend anyway :D

Back to Liverpool discussion, I can't say I'm too impressed with what Roy said about Gerrard. Roy had to tell Gerrard he wasn't for sale and pretty much said that Gerrard has shown interest in leaving and is listening to what other clubs are offering him.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Where did you read that Dags? Doesn't surprise me and can't blame him for wanting to leave. The whole problem though is even if he does leave for a good fee it won't be put back into the squad anyway so might aswell just keep him and try to get him interested again.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Thanks,

Hodgson, speaking at his team's pre-season training camp in Switzerland, said: "As far as we are concerned he is a Liverpool player and we want him to remain a Liverpool player.

"He is not for sale and we don't welcome any offers for him. We want to keep him.

"We spoke about football, the World Cup, his injury, and I told him how much I am looking forward to working with him.

"Christian Purslow [managing director] was also at the meeting and chatted to Fernando for a lot longer after I left but my chat with him was only about football matters."

Well he's off then. :(

Re: Liverpool Thread

I'm very far from being ninjabreakz. That child was of limited knowlegde when it came to football matters. I know far more than most here compared to ninjabreaks.

He'd only come out and spout rubbish with no substance. So please don't associate me that fool please.

Well i'm relieved...i liked ninjabreakz.

Re: Liverpool Thread

Thanks,

Well he's off then. :(

You didn't highlight the last bit, which is just as important. If Roy spoke about football matters, what's Purslow saying?

"Listen, forget what Roy said and how he see's you fitting in with his tactics, you're going to Chelsea or City. Take your pick."

Why can't you blame him? He was part of the reason you were so bad last season, if he thinks he's too good for the club he loves because you're not challenging for honours then he needs to have a rethink about his attitude IMO.

Also, you've just had a £12m bid put in for Remy, doesn't sound liek you've got no money?!

Re: Liverpool Thread

Tbh I thought it was more positive. Seemed to me like Hodgson did his part on convincing him then left the rest to the other fella.

Trust me, we don't want Purslow anywhere near Torres or any of our players. Snake.

Only £7.5m up front, rest is installments.

Martin Broughton said that no players are coming in unless players are sold. So it's also possible that that money is coming from an arranged transfer... Insua or Masch probably.

Re: Liverpool Thread

And now Mascherano thinks it's fine not to reply to his managers calls or texts? Wow.
