Ligue 1

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 - Lyon 5-5 Marseille

If you said OM would take a point away to Lyon before the game you would take it but very unhappy that OM threw away that game. The 3rd goal for Lyon was way too easy and really bad defending. With Bordeaux losing, 3 points would of been great.

Brando is such a strange player. He scores some great goals but misses some real easy chances.

Also has anyone got the full match on download as with no UK TV coverage this year I had to watch it on a shitty stream.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 - Lyon 5-5 Marseille

Bad goalkeepers, loosy defence and a lot of goals: yeah we are getting as good as the EPL championship!!

maybe Mandanda can take 5 goals in Ireland, and Lloris 5 in France, and our strikers will just have to put 10 goals in 2 games!!
South Africa here we come!!!!

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 - Lyon 5-5 Marseille

Yes it's terrible, look the OM defense in the Govou goal, it's crazy and Lloris mistake on Cheyrou shoot...

It doesnt seem to matter which defenders are sold or bought or which combinations the manager uses. The Marseille defence always seems to make big mistakes. On paper you think things should get better but it just doesnt seem to work out that way..

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 - Lyon 5-5 Marseille

I am a little bit suprised that Taiwo isn't playing anymore...is he injured?
Last year he was really good and score some goals too for Marseille.

Yeah I am baffled by that to be honest. Didier Deschamps seems to prefer Heinze at the moment.

For me Heinze has not got the legs anymore to play LB.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 - (OM vs PSG - November 20th)

OM should have hold on to Eric Gerets....Deschamps is the poor man's Gerets...

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 - (OM vs PSG - November 20th)

Why did all of that happen at Marseille? Especially after such a good season last year.

And then Deschamps inherited what was a very good side IMO and just dismantled it and started from scratch.

Where's the logic in that?

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 - (OM vs PSG - November 20th)

I am a big Ben Arfa fan and very sad things are not working out for him at Marseille. His a player who should be setting Ligue 1 on fire. So much talent going to waste. For the people in france, how is your media reporting this story?

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11800_5702341,00.html

Hatem Ben Arfa is set for showdown talks with Marseille after a training ground bust-up with manager Didier Deschamps.

The 22-year-old is thought to have apologised to his boss but the latest incident could be the last straw for a player who has a chequered past.

The forward arrived at Marseille from Lyon for £11.5million in summer 2008 - a move reportedly brought about because Ben Arfa felt he could no longer play alongside team-mate Karim Benzema after the pair fell out.

Controversy has continued to follow the Frenchman, with missed training sessions and training ground scuffles tainting his time at the Stade Velodrome.

Ben Arfa even infuriated former manager Eric Gerets by refusing to come on as a substitute last season and it appears the club have lost patience with the talented playmaker with Portsmouth, Tottenham and Spanish duo Sevilla and Villarreal said to be interested.

"I could help, I can help, but it is he who holds the key," Deschamps said.

"It is a question of balance. These are the demands at the highest level. I know at any moment he can take out four opponents and create something, but football is not just about that.

"There are requirements with and without the ball. He has talent but he expresses it sparingly."

Take stock
Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo, who has defended Ben Arfa in the past, seems resigned to selling the player in January.

"The coach has our full support," he told L'Equipe. "Hatem has slipped again. That does not mean anything any more.

"He has two months to wait. Then we will discuss the situation with his representatives around the table.

"If he is happier in Marseille, we'll take stock. But it is necessary that the squad is working in good conditions. Hatem must comply with what Deschamps wants.

"If it does not suit him, he can talk with Didier and with me. We are ready to listen.

"But what we hope is that he keeps a professional attitude to the end. It's the least that he must do for us and also for himself."

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10

PSG vs. Bordeaux this week. A win for the Parisians could make them look real good and maybe kick-start season. But I'm not holding my breath... lol

Only one win for PSG over Les Girondins in Bordeaux over last decade I read, let's see what happens this time...

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10

Bad loss for OL! Now 8 points behind what look the real champs! and in 9th place although it is very congested in that area and a couple wins/losses for any team can take them many places up or down. Very competitive league, loving it!

9 points separate 1st place team and 10th place team! :D
