Yeah horrible!

Well, Thomas, you or tuta or other French, need to tell us more about this situation. What happened? Bad management, financial crisis? I mean something must have gone really bad at these clubs over the last couple years to suddenly become relegation contenders in the 2nd division and go down to 3rd level!

About Guingamp, i listen the radio yesterday and last yeat Guingamp d'ont work well in Ligue 2 too and the coach "Victor Zvunka" are almost out of the club by the president but Guingamp win the Coupe de France and this year Victor Zvunka continue and do shit again. For Bastia isn't a real surprise, bad during all the season and win 3 free point because Le Havre don't go to Bastia in bus, because too long trajet (finland volcano). I don't know really about Strasbourg, i just know about the last game of the season it's versus the Jean Pierre Papin (ex strasbourg coach) Chateauroux "Chat 2-1 Stra".
Strasbourg centenary club for the first time in National.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

@Thomas, I see. Thanks for info. I'm sure Malouda and Drogba are quite sad about Guingamp going to 3rd tier but of course Didier must be very happy for his beloved Marseille and partying for many reasons these days! :)

-------

Heartbreak for LOSC!!!

For Auxerre to grab late winner against Sochaux and for them to lose 2-1. They fall from 2nd to 4th on final day and final minutes and miss out on CL football when after beating the champions OM, they'd looked set to make a comeback to CL.

Auxerre deserve it at the end of course but I would've preferred to see Lille. They would do more for France in CL. Don't have much hopes for AJA.

Same way I was glad today to see Sevilla grab that final place rather than Mallorca in Spain because they'll represent their country much better.

------------------------

Finally, while Marseille has gotten their act together over the past couple years, PSG is still struggling very much so! Another disappointing season. Kambouare will probably go, no?

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

Oh god.. Bordeux really enjoys some downhill thrill... What an awful 2ª half of a season...

PSG, wtf happened to them? Weren't they supposed to be title contenders?

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

No they definitely weren't expected to fight for title, but expectations are higher than finishing 13th with 47 points and 30 points behind champs for the capital club. Season after season, they are disappointing. Thankfully at least they won the cup this year, so small consolation.

As for Les Girondins, yeah, they just crumbled in the last 10 weeks of the season. It's like it was a marathon and they just didn't have the stamina. Too many games I think for them as they went far in all competitions, fatigue, injuries, etc.

They'll learn from this.... I just don't know if Blanc will still be in charge next season... it's likely that he won't.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

Gutted for LOSC. But if you loose against Lorient in the deciding match, you surely don't deserve CL football.....shit.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

Lorient is a good team though. Just look where they are in table. Plus it was an away match and they lost by 1 goal.

A victory there was never gonna be easy and I guess LOSC failed.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

Yay!! France will finally have good team like they deserve with all the talent available to them!

p.s. Today I was thinking about how Kevin Gameiro and Strasbourg's destiny have gone in opposite ways past couple years. The lil striker from Racing left them for Lorient and has become one of the top strikers in the league and tricky and capable and helping the team into the top half of the French Ligue near European places while his former club are now gonna be playing 3rd division!

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

I'm pretty sure Gameiro will be playing for Portugal next year.
Not a bad idea.

One month ago, Potugal call him to ask if want play from them, and Gameiro says, no i wait a sign from les Bleus...
Maybe Blanc want him.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

He could've played for Portugal in this World Cup probably! Not sure he made the right decision in rejecting the call-up but hey if he feels that strongly about France, then you shouldn't go against your heart I suppose.

Yeah I think Blanc will get him capped soon which is a good idea. :)

p.s. Speaking of French/Portuguese talent, the legendary Bobby Pires is out of contract with Villarreal. What are the chances of him coming back to Ligue 1 after a decade, you guys think? I'd like to see that but I don't know with which team or if he would do that, he could probably go to US or elsewhere and make lot of money as 'special' player.

Plus Metz are still in Ligue 2. :p otherwise it'd been nice to see him back in there!

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

WTF! Out of nowhere!

What's he been up to lately? Last I remember, he was Besiktas coach a few years back and I don't think that went very well... before that Fulham of course, that was a long time ago...

Wonder if players like Gourcuff or Alou Diarra are tempted to leave now with Blanc gone and the future perhaps not looking so promising for Les Girondins anymore....

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

St. Etienne lose Dabo for free to Sevilla!

P.s. Anybody got a video of Y. Hadji pushing the referee which has got him suspended for 6 months?! I wanna see it and am curious now. Of course he's lucky it's during off-season so he'll be back in November...

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

Referees are pathetic in France. And its board is worst.
Hajdi deserves to be punished, but 6 months is crazy compared to a lot of things.
We really need some sort of scale in the disciplinary measures.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

That was it?! I didn't even see a push! Just screaming in his face which is no worse than what Ballack did to Norwegian ref a couple years ago in CL against Barcelona. In fact Michael RAN After him and was abusing him looool.

Anyway what are those 'specialists' saying ? They think unfair? I see Guy Roux is there.

Re: Ligue 1 - 09/10 (Marseille Champion)

They were saying he was gonna get a big punishment.

And that was right.

Re: Ligue 1 - 10/11 - August 7th the fight is back

LOOL WTF?!?

Anyway can't wait!

When are OM or LOSC moving to new stadium though?
