Home (PlayStation 3)

Shame all the girls are going to get stalked by perverts... see... YouTube - Perverts on Home.wmv
Great.. hopefully you can block every moron, either that or I'll have to dress as a guy to stop harassment. Don't particularly wanna though!

 That guy ran when the character changed to Jaygrim!

I've seen loads of perverts on Home, just loitering around the female avatars and saying rude comments to them. If they can get away with doing it now in a "closed" beta, it's pretty bleak for when it goes open.

Just press select and report them to a mod - they said that EVERY report is checked and they contain a chat log of when you reported someone so they can check it out.

That won't stop the immediate annoyance but you can always travel to a different area through your in game menus and they can't follow you.

No way are the reports checked

its like XBls reporting system, all it does is make people feel better when reporting but serves no purpose

Its not the best test ever.

The way She just sits down like that in the middle of a bowling Place is a bit wierd!!! so it encourages people to go up and see why the fuck she is sitting in the middle like that.

Bloody Skanky whore!!! ;))

The home devs are claiming every report is checked.

I can't imagine it being that hard - you take the categories for the serious reports like racial attacks or illegal acts and see what went on - if you spot what went on in the text log you grab the reported person and rollock them or suspend them or ban them. Anything that can't be identified gets put aside with the PSN of the reported person/people and the person who submitted the report. That way if future reports come in from the same person or against the same person they can put 2 and 2 together and work out of the accused is doing something or if the person sending in the reports is just being a cock.

Gamefaqs have a moderating system which will probably work the same way - they have a bunch of mods who get these reports, they check out the worst first and then act. And I'd say gamefaqs is way way bigger than home.

people on Gamefaqs do it for free as there sorta hobby

Sony will have to pay people to do it on home because its for there benefit and they aint gonna employ loads of people just to mod Home

Me and my friend couldn't get a pool table so i run up there saying there's two woman doing a lesbian show in the arcade room and immediately turn around and run towards the area (like that's even possible) every guy left the tables and followed me towards the arcade machines while my friend set up the game.
It was really funny and sad at the same time.

I just wanna thump people and start a riot, I think that would be a great laugh, ala Shenmue, maybe a Home FightClub. Also the way the avatars run has to be the most camp thing ever.

shenmue eh? shenmue is one of the greatest games ever made :)

Between the 15th and 30th - but 'tedthedog' keeps saying 'you'll all be in the open beta by christmas' so that would be 15th to 24th.

I'm sure i read somewhere that there is a week coming where there will be no PS Store update so that would make a perfect week to launch the beta.

Ring stinger

It hasn't been TOO bad actually, I have had a few morons try to add me "we cn ply online grl" I'' just reply with something along the lines of "NO WE FUCKING CANT" followed by the block button anyway. I wish there was more to do though, but the bowling and pool is really awesome.

Home open beta to begin tomorrow

Sony will open PlayStation Home to the world tomorrow as the open beta finally gets into gear.

The game client will be free. Once downloaded, a Home icon will pop up in the PlayStation Network column of the XMB. While the service will be free there will be some paid-for content, such as extra clothes and accessories.

Europeans will be able to explore a Far Cry 2-themed environment, and Sony hopes to make areas for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Warhawk, Motorstorm and SOCOM available soon.

In the future, there will be partnerships with and themes from companies such as Activision Blizzard, EA, SEGA, Eidos and Midway.

Fashion label Diesel will offer up some trendy togs, while furniture designer Ligne Roset has all sorts of upholstery collections to make your house stand out from the crowd.

Red Bull is hosting a virtual flying challenge where you get to be the pilot. This will take place on the Red Bull Island.

More importantly, Paramount Studios, Eurogamer TV and Hexus TV will be showing their wares in the Home Theatre. That means Johnny Minkley will be offered alongside trailers and interviews for films such as Watchmen, which actually looks quite good. Johnny Minkley also looks good, of course.

If only Big Phil Harrison were here to smash the bottle on the hull. At least Kaz Hirai had something to say, specifically: "PlayStation Home is truly a promising network community service on the PlayStation platform, made possible with the powerful combination of PS3's overwhelming computational power and PlayStation Network that covers many countries around the globe." Phew.

Oh, there's more: "We are committed to providing PS3 users with exciting gaming experiences with PlayStation Home and together with our partners and users, expand the new world of interactive entertainment as we move forward."
