Hire some good scouts with good abilities at spotting potential. Keep an eye on your scouts as the scout reports hardly ever turn up in your inbox but always check out the higher ranked star players.

And when doing player searches, filter out players your Ass. Man. doesn't think will be interested.
 
Anyone up for getting an online game together? Tim has shown interest, and CW will be interested apparantly. Anyone else?

Yeah that would be cool. If we are going for Spanish teams I would like Atletico, I had me best ever FM session with them :FISH:

Its much more fun If we are all in the same league I think?

I haven't got a clue what the WeeGie patch is? Do we get Ghost players? :COAT:
 
I think we should stick to the official patches only, that one sounds weird
 
It's just an update which updates and corrects the data issues, not that important really.

Let's just stick to the official patches anyway :).

Weegie is a cracking update, I use Weegie too.

I don't want to do the Spanish league, CW stole my team :(

there is no time limit, (although you can set a limit on when the player presses continue so we not all waiting for him) you can do as many games as you want.

you need to download Hamachi to play online
 
I think the way to go would be to use Hamachi, I will copy something I posted on the FMWeeGie forums and then got nicked by a mod and I never got credit :-pp.

Hamachi (www.hamachi.cc) is basically a piece of software which allows you to have a LAN connection over the internet (there is a free version), this can be particularly useful in setting up and playing online games in Football Manager if you experience problems using the standard method of connecting over the internet.

I won't make an extensive guide because everything is quite self-explanatory.
You just need to download and install Hamachi, choose a username, create a Hamachi server server, get the people who are going to join the game to connect to this Hamachi server, create a game on FM with the "Run as server" box ticked, get the people who will join to see if the game appears in FM on the "Local Servers" part on the Network screen and if it doesn't, you just need to right-click on the host's username in Hamachi and then click "copy address" and then enter this in the "Join Other Server" box on FM.

I was not able to use the normal method of connecting, probably because of my router, but using Hamachi enables me to play online I hope this helps some of you in the same way it helped me.

so are you using the Weegie patch then? That patch is far far better than the shitty SI one and you could probably get one as up to date as today transfers
 
Oooh 2 more players.

I think we should have 8 of us, and make it a time limit of 24 hours, meaning if you don't log on in 24 hours then it's your fault and whatever happens in the game happens, until you next log in. It shouldn't be that hard for all of us 8 to just log in to FM one time a day?

That is how I think we should do it, and I think this because it's going to be really hard to organise getting 8 of us online at the same time for sustained periods of time. I think it would work well with a 24 hour limit.

I don't get this 24 hour bit?

We will need to all be online in order to play the fixtures won't we? otherwise we will not be able to manage our team when playing a match?

I'm confused
