Fight Night Round 4 (PS3/360)

The more I play the game and stop myself from using haymaker punches non-stop and actually try to weave/block, the more I like it.
I think I was playing it like an arcade game before, and as it's on a low difficulty then it would work, making the game look crap.

Yeah the 3 rounds @ low difficulty does EA no favours at all, you'd think they'd learn by now but they don't, their excuse of setting it to low was "we didn't want new gamers to be overwhelmed" so why not let us choose the difficulty so the noobs can play on low if they like? As for the 3 round limit, you find yourself being far more aggressive than is ideal because you want to put the other guy down, no point jabbing and moving for three rounds only for the demo to end (beyond simply testing how well you can jab and move if you try) of course :)

Just been looking at the EA press conference at Peter Moore announced that this game will now be coming out a week earlier, don't know if this is for US only.

I thought he said that when watched it live then release date come up and was only day before 25th think it was.

Downloaded the demo and have been addicted to it over the last few days. Sure it's pretty easy to pick apart the fighters once you get used to them but it's great seeing all the different ways you can knock your opponent down, the physics involved and the organic punching system. I've played about 30 odd matches and feel I have a really good grasp of it, and no two fights have been the same at all. That's what's keeping me coming back.

I'm really looking forward to the final product as I'd like to play a longer fight and pick and choose how I want to fight, rather than being forced to go gun-ho to knock my opponent down.

I watched the clip on gametrailers where some dude was fighting the lead designer or whatever and I must say it looked and played great. So I'm going to give this a second chance when it gets released. The guy that worked with the game played really realistic because he knew the controls inside out so I guess that is the key to make this game more fun to me, mastering the controls that is.

Edit: Sorry wasn't gametrailers it was this one:

That clip looked alot better than the demo does

i wonder if they will release a updated demo?

I doubt it because creating a demo build takes a lot of dev time which they probably can't spare so close to going gold (I'm guessing there's about 1 week left before the final master closes), but yes I agree with both of you the demo seemingly doesn't quite do the final version justice.

Watched it last night, looks awesome, I think my first Career will be a created Amir Khan, default chin which will never be improved, gonna be quite a challenge to win a world title with no chin ;)

I uploaded my own face last night ready to import.
Not quite sure about lining up the side shot so will probably have to play about with it a bit.

Pretty Boy will obviously be the Nickname though :)

Hahaha default chin for Khan for sure. I'm going with Froch so there goes my defence ;). I also love how customisable it will be.

Any news on whether we get a proper finish to the fight? e.g. both boxers either side of the ref and a lifting of the glove announcing the winner, rather than just showing the winner like in the demo.

I'm pretty sure this was confirmed textually in some preview months ago that there's a suspenseful ending to points decisions, but don't quote me on that.

I can give you reference pics for Froch to use on your created boxer:

Someone used the gameface version in Tiger Woods 08 to make a Froch:

Resemblance is there but I expect the FNR4 one to look less cartoony and more realistic :)

These are what I'll use for Khan:

Thanks for the pics, they look great in-game so I'll definitely be using them :TU:

Cheeky request for some David Haye ones too?

Actually I did Haye previously, as well as a few others for the EA FNR4 forums:

Be warned these are uber big images, 500kb-800kb each.

You can grab them all in one handy zip file if you prefer: http://rghost.ru/217139

The side pics where the fighters are looking down probably need rotating to fit, not sure if Gameface will do that as I can't remember.

David Haye (the best I could find)

No offence intended but both of those are pretty useless really :(

I have access to press photos so if there are requests for British fighters or former opponents of British fighters I can probably get high quality pics :)

Already got a DynCymraeg in the game. Joe "The Italian Dragon" Calzaghe.
Pure class.

DynCymraeg is also another PSN I created for US account.

It means Welshman btw.

None taken mate, thanks for your pics they're brill. Just got to source some entrance music and research the gloves and attire etc and we're laughing. As long as we can get them as good as possible it will be ideal :).

When I've created my Froch I'll give you a fight if you like. Have the fight we all want to see ;)

Nice to see we can actually upload any music we like from our 360s :)

Will do. It won't be very realistic though as Froch will actually get to hit JC in the virtual world.

I know I'm Welsh but I'm not being biased when I say JC would have schooled him. He meant nothing to JC. Froch got lucky in his last fight after being outboxed by a poor Taylor. I can't fault him for what he did though and he is tough with a good chin.

JC had a great chin aswell though. He's been down but was NEVER in trouble.

Just too good overall and would have won on points as his hands just can't handle the power punches. Still, somebody who struggles with his hands but still completely outboxes anybody in his way, gets my respect.

Loved watching him fight. Just picks off people for fun.
