interesting that this feature is getting hyped now, something like that was in nhl 2001 or something if i recall correctly...worked pretty nicely back then allready

am i right in saying that the first photo is saying that created boxers can be imported into the legacy mode! thats brilliant news!

is there a way of sharing created boxers?, cause there is a lot of boxers i'd like to put in, but i don't know if i can be arsed to create them all!

Yes it was confirmed some time ago you can import all of your created boxers (I believe up to 20) into your legacy career, you can also remove certain classic fighters so if you prefer not to see Ali/Frazier in a modern heavyweight career you can remove them.

Yes boxers that you create can be uploaded to EASW and then anyone can come along and download them, similar to how we can share tactics/formations from Fifa.

That's really good news, especially as some people would be able to make them look realistic using the gameface thing.
It's a shame about there being a limit on the amount you can have in a career though, but 20 should be enough.

I don't like how you only get knockdowns when the health bar is empty and how they always go down like they're out cold even in the first round with all their stamina left, most of the time when someone gets caught early on, their legs go a bit and they sort of stumble over rather than falling flat on their face/back.

I've had flash knockdowns against both the AI and my wife (in the game not real life I hasten to add ;))) where the opponent has been knocked down from a perfect counter punch despite their health bar being mostly full :)

thanks for the reply placebo, thats great news.

on another note, i haven't had a flash knockdown yet, but i have had it where you catch them with a big hit and their health flashes red and then it's a matter of time before they go down! is that what you we're talking about placebo? or have you had literally a flash knockdown? i'm hoping the latter!

I've literally knocked them down with one punch, usually for that to happen they need to have wasted some of their stamina throwing wild punches that miss, you slip a punch and reply with a perfect hook/uppercut and they go down like a sack of spuds :)

In theory we should be able to get 1 punch 1st punch knockouts, but obviously they'll be very, very rare, I have stunned an opponent (where it shows the red bar for health, hands down, bells ringing etc.) with the first punch thrown in the first round which is cool :)

Gamestation pre-order cancelled. Thanks for the demo :)
2 games (that haven't been played for months) traded in for credit at Game.

Pre-ordered again. Will outlay £1. Happy days.

i'm glad to hear it, after my first initial problems with the game i'm starting to enjoy it more and more. especially playing human vs human!

I prefer human v AI ;) The demo is too unbalanced in favour of the masher v the boxer, I play against my wife and I think the record is something like 9-7 in her favour, early on I would of course be trying to box and she'd just continually throw punches of any kind, stick mash basically, as I was learning the game I wasn't very good at counteracting that so she kept getting points wins because it seems the demo judges only care about the amount of punches thrown, even if my accuracy is higher, so I think the first 6 or 7 fights ended in a 5-2 win record for her, but then I got the hang of the movement and counterpunching and all that and I started getting wins by knockout against her, purely from perfectly timed counter punches :)

Hey gang,

Just got word from EA that you'll be able to create 50 boxers at one time without deleting any.

That knockdown animation will where thin very soon. What happend to "no knock down the same"? They had a chance to make this game really special, but it looks as if all boxers have the same style's in one way or the other.

Wow that's awesome, especially considering within 2 or 3 weeks of release just about every real boxer you can think of will be available to download so you can have Legacies with 50 real fighters :)

I hope when you download the characters they keep their stats/attributes/moves etc. I've never really been bothered with anything like that and generally just copy someone else's.

I've played the demo, watched the vids, seen the screens, and I just am not that impressed enough to dish out my dinero.

I don't like how the haymakers, or power punches look when you execute them. It looks as if it's in slow motion. The punches don't look or feel like they have any impact on your opponent. There just seems to be something not right with the physics and animations at times or it might just be me. I'm just not very impressed thus far and see myself renting this one if not ignoring it all together. The demo just doesn't blow me away. Feels slow and clunky. It just doesn't feel right to me.

The game I cannot put down at the moment is UFC 2009 Undisputed. WOW! what an amazing game. I love everything. The flash knockouts, the collision detection, the knockout animations, the blood, the violence etc...it just feels like your really beating the crap out of your opponent. It feels right and tight. This game really has what FN Round 4 is missing.

UFC 2009 Undisputed is by far more fun and realistic than FNR 4's demo.

i havent tried the fn demo but i think ufc is incredible repetitive, boring and i put it away after just about 5 matches. even worse than fnr3 (which had like what, 10 boxers? 4 arenas?)

it's also about content depth for me and that is were ufc clearly lacks, in my opinion.

It also has the same moves for the different characters. Therefore, for me UFC Undisputed got too repetitive and predictable. There is no skill in it, it's all about hitting the right number of combinations and you'll defeat your opponent. This is where FNR4 comes into it's own. You could tell instantly that Hatton and Pac Man were different. I must have played the demo 35 or more times and every match has been different. The collision detection is also better in FNR4 from what I've seen.

I think once the final game is out you'll be pleasantly surprised. The demo was not a great representation of the game at all and pitching it at an easy level did it no justice. Give it a chance.

After playing some more of the UFC demo, I have to agree with mjsmith2k - it gets very repetitive and the completely canned animations (especially on the ground) make it look and feel crap.
Another game i'm glad I never went out and bought based on good first impressions of the demo - if I just rushed out and bought games which initially impressed me i'd have a whole collection of shitty games i'd never play!!!

Back to Fight Night - I hope I come across some flash knockdowns on FNR4, although if they did exist I think I should've seen one by now after the amount i've played the demo, and been literally smashing the opponents face in with haymakers for a lot of that time and i've still only seen them go down when the health bar inside the other health bar is completely drained.

I'm still not sure whether i'm going to get this game or not - i'll wait and see if people think it's much better than the demo, it will still be hard to actually tell whether it's any better from looking at videos because most people would play the game like a button/stick masher...
