FIFA World Cup Brasil 2014

Exactly what I'm thinking. Now everyone will think again Löw did everything right and are fapping on that win and after all they will be shocked and surprised again if we lose later against a team like Italy.

Take one game at a time... Enjoy the moment n result FFS

Think we can be lucky that we didn't get that penalty call against us, was nearly the same as in Götze's case.

Lucky isn't the word I would use there.

And compare both incidents is ludicrous. Éder was clearly tackled in the box. Götze was in a grabbing battle for position.

Aren't Di Stefano, Púskas, Platini, Cruiff, Eusébio and others among the very best players that the game had ever seen. The idea that a player needs WC glory to be one of the very best is ridiculous.

Yep, along with the idea EVERYTHING is down to them. It's the worst kind of national team to be a "great" or an "excelent" player, the one with the so called "best in the world".

Both were penalties to me, which one was "clearer" is irrelevant. To be fair though, it wouldn't have changed much.

I have sympathy for the Portuguese fans right now. This will now be a struggle with USA but I guess that was always a likely possibility.

EDIT: @s-nipe Goal difference might be very important in this group for second spot.

They may be similar but I don't understand Danish at all... Danish doesn't pronounce consonants in the middle of a word so it's always a guessing game what they're talking about :P

Thanks but no thanks for the link, I'm watching HD with Danish commentaries over streamed ;)

I always thought that they were like Portuguese and Spanish. Although normally Spaniards don't understand jack of what we are saying :)

I can't because it's always the same for years. All that hype and we always fail at the important matches.
A different coach could change a lot and I can't really celebrate for Germany when I see Löw at the side.

For some reason, Gary Lineker is quoted by the media every single time we play against Germany, not sure why we're always hopeful :P "Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win."

So Germany and the Netherlands each won against an Iberian side (Portugal and Spain respectively) with 4 goals difference. Expected it to be the other way round, because they should be more comfortable with those climate conditions.

That's because of the usual latin "rationality", we assumed we were prepared for the conditions so we did no adaptation training whatsoever. We even got to Brazil much later than most teams.

In both cases I think the climate did not have influence in the losses. Spain looks tired regardless. And in Portugal case the game was finnished long before climate could had any influence. But was still a mental thing appoint a game at Salvador at 13:00. If the game was close, we would probably had a lot more injuries on both sides. The three that existed had nothing to do with the climate, was just hyperextensions. Can happen any time.

Same thing with France I noticed. They played all their pre world cup friendlies in France as far as I know and they don't look very fatigued.

Speaking of which I am sitting in my hotel room in shanghai having slept an hour today and an hour yesterday lol. Surprised I am able to stand up straight at this point.

Except when they play Italy. :P

I'm at home but I've been up late every night since WC started. I've slept an average of 3 hours per night... I am tired but it's no problem to stay awake.

EDIT: Enjoying the Iran vs Nigeria match so far. High intensity at least hehe... great stuff. I don't care who wins, I just want to be entertained :)

A well deserved win by Germany.

The lineup was a little bit strange for me, but it was very effective against that Portugal team.
The penalty for Germany could be given and was no mistake by the ref.
The red card for Pepe was also correct. He was just stupid to act in this way. He hit him in the fight for tha ball - this was some kind of "normal" activity and not on purpose - that's why the ref did not whistle.
But the way he acted afterwards was ridiculous.
To do this kind of "soft" headbutt directly in the line of sight of the referee is just stupid.
And Müller wasn't whining, diving, claiming or acting. He was hit and just sat down while recovering from the hit. Than Pepe came to him. Even after the "headbut" there was no "acting".
If Pepe wanted to start trash talk on Müller, he could have done it half a meter away - the red card is deserved!
Ronaldo showed once again a dissapointing performance, but maybe he is still not in shape.
The penalty for Portugal had to be given - this was a mistake by the referee.
In the end Portugal was lucky that a lot of chances were wasted. The game could have ended easily with 5, 6 or 7 goals.

I hope that Coentrao is not injured seriously and I hope Portugal will do better in the next two matches, which will be a little bit easier, but still tough ones.

Oh no, Muller was acting, it was very obvious that it was nothing but drama. I'll give you everything else, but not that.

Totally wrong.
Pepe hit Müller with his right hand in the face. Was no clear foul - Müller was not claiming! He just sat down recovering. And still no complaining. Than pepe came to him starting trash talk and hit him with his head.
Müller of course was arguing with him and was complaining after the headbut.
He even fell not on the ground after the headbut or something like that.

I just rewinded the match to that scene. ;)

If Pepe would be smart he would have just continued playing football and left Müller alone, nothing would have happened.

But Pepe is not that smart, acted stupid and in the end deserved the red card. Period.

Who cares about the lil drama , Mueller was baiting Pepe! Drama w`'d of been Mueller rolling about after the head/eye brow tap

Anyhow this Nigeria vs Iran is boring...I`m drinking from a straw!

Don't think Müller was acting, he even feared at German TV that it looked strange and made clear that he wasn't acting. Of course it's just his statement, but red card was deserved anyway, as already said. Totally stupid from Pepe, but if you begin to think, he got a bit more calm at club, he has to do such things at national team..

Nah, Muller was definitely acting like a drama queen. Doesn't justify what Pepe did on the field, however.

Sorry, but NO.
I have seen a lot of acting especially by some of the world best players in la liga or elsewhere and sometimes also by Müller, but today he was not a drama queen at all.
