FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Good, make old-gen the e-sport platform and next-gen the sim one going forward. A weird way to split gameplay, but why not.

(Edit: Ok this is just an accident and not the plan obviously, it's just a new tech that people who want to play street fighter don't appreciate, it's not EA trying to go the sim way against their huge casual audience). :P

good morning btw. currently sitting in the office starting the day. 2 days left... thats not too much and i can already feel the anticipation building up!
 
I played some FUT yesterday to understand what the situation is and the "problem" is that everyone is playing defensively. It's a little bit as handball. So my fear is that they will turn down the AI to make defense harder and that means as an offline player the game will become boring as hell because your defenders will be braindead again. I hope I'm wrong but if they want to make the FUT crowd happy this will be the way.
 
There is no option to satisfy both sides with one game and that is fact.
Only solution is two games unfortunately. One for us and one for FUT. I even dont understand why they need new game or gameplay. For them FIFA online is perfect example. Just updates, new cards etc.
 
So when is the first patch? When do they usually fuck this up?
If first patch doesnt bring any drastic changes it will be reasonable to assume this is the direction they are going with this year.
Beta forum was overwhelmed by people fighting for more football logic in their game, so F22 might be a test for a game closer to simulation.
But first patch will give us better picture.

Im more than happy to cash out if F22 deserves it, but this has to be followed up by some proof from patches.

but the method for me personally would stay the same? canceling auto updates as they happen, so i can stay on vanilla?! :D
but yeah, i agreee, the first patch is an indicator!

Doesnt it normally come on retail release day?
 
If you have the trial can you can auto update for full release or is full release/day one patch the base version everyone will have?
 
Long time Pes player here.

I have dabbled with FIFA but last 1 I did more than 1 season on was FIFA 17.

I am on PS4. Is it worth me parting with £50 for this game? Reading this, a lot seem to say it's a good game but anyone have it on PS4 who can confirm?

i just cant help it but i need to delete the digital trail before installing from disc again. :BOUNCE: i want to have a clean system! :D

as @hitmanuk just said: disc is the way to go if you dont want to fall victim to the patches! i just hope the disc version is the same as the trail version (its currently something like 1.001)!
as long as it’s possible, I prefer physical media.

Well I've digital only console, so...
Besides - sick of having to sacrifice internet connection for one game, or having to turn off the updates in a hurry every time I boot the console up.
Still have Ps4 offline just for Fifa16.
Never again.
If they fuck this up - whatevs.
 
What the hell happened to the pitch colors in last gen Fifa 22!?

In Fifa 21 I thought the pitch / turf looked great, especially with the option to adjust the green, but in Fifa 22 last gen the pitches are some of the worst I´ve ever seen in a football game. They remind me of Fifa 15 on PS3. It doesn´t look natural at all, very washed out and blinding green.

It´s unfortunate, because I do enjoy the gameplay a lot of last gen!

NEVER MIND: managed to find a pretty good solution on xbox one! :)

- last scene is a foul... penal awarded, penal prepared, will it go in...?! :LOL:

on full manual... all the situations feel so rewarding!

No. It was a gimmick introduced in F20 (I think).
There was a loading power bar with the indicator of "perfect shot" on it. If you hit the spot - they were sending missiles. If you missed it - there was a bigger chance of you completely spoiling the shot.
Very few liked it. It felt weird and completely unnecessary with Fifas shot variety.
But you can switch it off and forget you ever heard of it.

Apart from Thiago's standing foot sliding a full meter on the grass in the shot :LMAO:

I notice such stuff as well but I can overlook it for a split second and enjoy what’s given.
With the new hypermotion i think there is less skating. At least it’s not more evident than in FIFA16, wich I like a lot!!

edit: btw: there are 2 full matches currently uploading... i'll post them later.

I think the hardest thing for me to get used to will be the lack of form arrows. They haven't always made much sense in PES, but they did force you to change things up quite a bit when setting up the team, which has always been a massive part of PES for me. So I hope Fifa has some fatigued players between games at least.

Not played FIFA since 19 but really enjoying the trial. For those that have played PS4 and PS5 is it worth purchasing a PS5 for fifa? Bear in mind I only play this and my son plays Fortnite!
