FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

i do sometimes miss a bit of overview, when scanning the field for possible recipients. thats why i wish i could up the broadcast cam a bit (on PS5).
what i use, to make up for a greater overview when using tele or tele broadcast, is the radar. to me, this all works very good.
let me explain whats happening in my head: when i would play EAcam or tele, i have a better overview of the whole pitch. i can see where my lads are and easily pass towards them (even long crosses and such). i dont have to move my head, i just glance left, right, up and down... its all in "one view".
when playing broadcast cam, i need to use the radar at the bottom to spot my mates (that are currently not in focus of the broadcast cam).
that move, of getting my head down a bit, glancing at the radar to spot a receiver, is my equivalent to being on a real pitch (ball at feet) and scanning the pitch for recipients!
i hope you get me! would all be so simple to explain if only you guys would speak some german! :LOL:

Yeah I'd like to be able to raise the angle a few degrees. Not sure in this day and age why we can't customise the camera angle into oblivion but what do I know.

I know what you mean. And I do speak some German. The best Scottish Standard Grades marks available in writing and speaking thanks to mein Lieblingslehrer, Herr Aitken (RIP). Alas, these days, unless you're asking me about my family and pets and what I like doing at the weekend, my knowledge falls depressingly short! 😄

My main criticism so far is the keepers. So many weak shots - especially those above shoulder height - float in past a flailing arm at best. Takes me back to early PS3 games when they'd dive back and not up!

you can set the cam sliders to custom and tinker with the values for zoom and height... but its doing nearly nothing! so its included... just not working well. its the same in FIFA16... where it has a bit more of an effect.

Its a website you talk about PES and FIFA but in french. There's 11vs11 tournaments btw, they became "famous" thanks to that.
But last year it was on PES. Depends the version in fact (if one Fifa is better, they will switch i suppose, it's only the second tournament they did)
 
It's refreshing to play a Fifa game and not feel bitter every time you concede a goal to the CPU. Even some goals in online play in the past, there's just nothing I could do to stop what was happening.

I think it's a combination of things at play, making the much maligned 'momentum' take a back seat. Hypermotion isn't just marketing guff, intelligent teammates and AI controlled opposition makes a huge difference.

I really like the momentum shifts too.How when you concede sloppy goals or make bad judgements your teamates become more lathargic,prone to bad touch,are generally slower to react to the ball,don’t make progressive runs,track as well or generally cover space.It’s the complete opposite when your commanding the rub of the green and this plays out for both you and the CPU..

I’m really sold on the defending mechanics too.Had plenty of games where the CPU AI won’t let me breath on the ball and others where It’s content to maintain formation and wait to hit me it on the break.I also like the whole risk reward factor of defending.Get to close to a player or overly press the ball carrier and repeatedly your be turned over or the space around you will be exploited.Timing is certainly key.As is how you position yourself and making the tackle,contact at the right moment.The cpu will certainly tare you a new one if you constantly press the ball carrier..This is highlighted when you use the constant pressure command via tactics.Which can leave you more open and exposed to forward movement and the cpu getting in behind you.

The Beauty is individuality.Play to a players strengths and use him how you should and he will shine.I don’t think I’ve experienced this since the pre ps3 era.
 
I bought the stadia-version since I wanted the next gen features. While I’m enjoying it, I found it a bit sluggish and unresponsive for my likning. But I’m not sure if it’s stadia that increases the input lag or it’s just the game. I have played 21 on stadia and its just fine. I kinda get the pes 2014 feeling when playing the game.

I know it’s a bit ironic because I absolutely hate the super responsivenes of the previous FIFA’s. To you who have played next gen-version, how is the responsivenes compared to FIFA 21?

I don’t no if it’s stadia but I felt the same way for the first day on the trial.

Once you let the ball start doing all the work,much like WE let you used too.I think your start feeling it.The more I play the more im enjoying this one.

Every time I read a post like this (honestly), a big ticking clock appears in my mind's eye, counting down to the day one patch where EA completely destroy the game based on FUT feedback.

It’s a awful predicament.Do I commit to a digital version where I have to keep auto updates off all year and keep my X offline when playing.Missing any bug fixes or improvements.Aswell as the the option to play like minded players online(although I’m more a offline player).

Or do I buy hard copy so if any changes alter a good base.I can always revert.My head is equally scrambled and in slight disbelieve that these changes aren’t more universally welcomed.Personally I think the game deserves good press.The gameplay warrants it.
 
Net sound is finally amazing and make satisfaction when scoring a goal and want to score more.

And it is only when the net is set to tight. With regular or loose settings you cant hear iron/goalpost sound.

are you sure about that? i did not check but... ok, would make sense.
btw: i think its not the net making the sound, its the metal bar holding it down, popping up because the ball hits the nets, wich lifts the metal bar. at least thats my knowledge. no offense here, maybe i'm wrong.
man, i wish i could go home an test it myself! friday cant come soon enough... :D
 
I like this intelligent ai thing for the oppositions star players but is the indicator broken for anyone else? I've switched it off yet I still have the grey arrow above players heads. I see them during cut scenes too

Yes. And it makes sense. When net is tight it makes iron move and creating that sound.

Also its different depending ball hit upper or lower. So great.

but i do loose net tension, wich looks great on regular. i did not try tight nets but found the loose ones look ugly as F in replays... you can see how unnatural it moves in slomo!
i will give those tight nets a try this weekend and have an ear open...! :)

Not just you. It's been broken since the first beta!

I'm not sure if I like the "enhanced AI for star players" function. It only seems to apply to attack-minded players, and only seems to put them in ultra "competitive mode" (i.e. crazy ninja skills). Just me?

I really like combination for speed. Make game slower really love it. I didn't copy all same cause i am not hardcore player (i use assisted with master switch all off) and shoot error leaved at 50.

Other sliders made game tight. I am playing on world class and sometimes it's really hard to score a goal. I am pretty good at defence. I'll also probably reduce GK.

Ah I see, guessing it will be fixed with a day one patch.

I was most impressed with it vs PSG when I think about it, and the skills probably aren't going to feel too out of place with Neymar. I'll keep any eye out for that. I definitely saw Azpilicueta and Rudiger get it once but I never paid too much attention to how they played that game if I'm honest.
 
Alright my ten hours are up and I think I can post a short summary. At first I must say that they improved the AI a lot. This has nothing to do with the last years and this is definitely a game changer. I started a career and played on Legendary, normal speed and I got trashed at the beginning. Honestly the passing and the shooting is sometimes too much. I'm not sure if it's possible to defend but the best thing is if you are on attack. It's hard to break the defence down but once you do it's an amazing feeling. The game has some problems too as for example the defensive line pushing back too far but overall that's the best FIFA (against the AI) since a long long time. I hope they won't kill it with the next patches but I'm not sure about that. Tonight I'll play some more, of course I preordered the Ultimate Edition in July. :D

Unless you like me have all 3 methods of playing (or 5 really), with PS5 / XBSX / PC and legacy PS4/XB1 editions, for a total of £3 or whatever for the multiple 1 month "cancelled straight away" subs.

Yeah and I also said that I preordered the Ultimate Edition in July and that's the reason why I can play the full version since the 27th of September.
 
If they could just slow down the animations. The pace of the game is a bit fast but I think it's the speed of the animations themselves that are the main issue in regards to the feel.

The animations are good it's just the pace of them that kills them.
That would help (even they will never do it, because of online)

But issue with no physical game still would remain. Players not shielding and fighting for ball properly.

I might be reaching here but I think slowing down the ball handler animations would go some way to help that.

It's like the defenders speed is at 150 percent while the handler is at 200 spinning 720 on a dime (exageration)

Slowing the handlers animations receiving the ball, controling the ball then passing would allowing the defence more of a chance to get up close.

Right now the ball is gone before the defence has a chance to even get within breathing distance.

It wouldnt solve the lack of physicality, but it would atleast allow the defence to get close enough for them to get physical in the 1st place.

Dont get me wrong there is physicality, mainly when the ball is in the air. But on the ground its lacking cause the ball handlers doing the herky jerky at the speed of light.

I think yes but it's a diffent team, i asked to CarloPits.

They make 11vs11 leagues and it's working pretty well (there's members from many different countries, one italian working with me on editing was on a team for example)
I still got the "old" forums adress, never checked to be honest (not too much interest to be honest about online leagues etc)
