FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

this sounds promising becouse fut players can't have fast gameplay they are accustomed to :D
"Dribbling is my favourite part of the game, it just helps you get out of tight little spaces"...

...like what, an abandoned warehouse?

As if there is a hint of a "tight little space" on this beta. Especially online. Jesus Christ, the way they lie to themselves...

The game with some sliders is really nice. Hypermotion needs a realistic speed to be operationnal I think. When everything is fast (shoots and passes), it's look s**t.
When you search on YouTube, you only see shitty gameplay FUTO with default settings.

I will post on 22 September my footage on EA Play release. I Hope the game didn't change too much or for the best😅. I know I'm a dreamer😆

Someone suggested 85/100 for Marking settings. Gave it a go last night and did not notice much difference. My ai players were still running away from those with the ball in the box and they didnt seem to get closer to opposition elsewhere.

It's me but sliders it's not only one thing to change. I've post all my sliders and it's works. I didn't try Ultimate.
You have changed game speed /acceleration?

I understand him that you can't do that now. he said that players feels much heavier now and that you can't move them free like before, he even mentioned Neymar, Mbappe, Messi that even them feel heavier like how is that possible that players with 98-99 fut cards are not that responsible and easy to move and drible. he also mentioned that passing is more difficult becouse of the weightness of the players and how ball is much lighter now, he said that maybe even look realistic but he likes faster pace game to enjoy which is not possible now.
I don't want to enter in area to judge the game before I play it but if fut players complain about this stuff then maybe ea is listening to offline community after all. From videos I saw on youtube there are some animations that look much better but in other is same skaty moving which I guess can be corrected by ea or reducing acc slider by 1 or 2. We'll see what will they release now on gamescom and thr final release. One month is not short period to correct things, or made them worse...
If a fut player says the game is realistic then you know it's dogshit.
he says it's opposite from what he likes

He is lying, FUT is garbage and lighting fast. Messi,Mbappe,Neymar move like headless chicken with the ball and it's impossible to stop them. But it is not that fast outside of FUT garbage.

I have post my sliders on the excellent post of Matt10 on FIFA 22 beta forum.
I hope having some feedback to confirm or not if you can fixed some serious issues in FIFA 22 beta gameplay with sliders.

With respect, I think that's a really dangerous post - because if EA read your post and think that the game can be fixed by sliders, they won't fix anything, and we really need them to. Let's be honest, even if your sliders help, we need EA to fix the AI.

We need them to hear us - and we can only do that if we all shout the same thing (or they can just say it's a handful of people's opinion).

Some of us have spent hours writing about the issues to try and communicate that the game is unplayable with the current AI. Please, for the sake of offline play, consider at least strongly rewording the first part of your post to emphasise that huge AI/gameplay problems can't be removed by sliders.

100%. If sliders fixed anything we'd all be playing 21 with sliders. Just saying. Some of us even spent 100+ hours modding the gameplay files in 20 without fixing defending. Most of us are back to playing 16 I think. It's 100% on EA.

Typical FIFA players... He spends 80% of the time playing FIFA on the ball, dribbling... and this year Konami target these players to come to try eF.

You're right, i didn't think about it. I have deleted my post and asked for more sliders like referee strickness and sliders for faults
. But before, we want a football game with the basics like marking

Hello Guys !

I am reading all the posts by everyone like usual every year. Checking threads with PES and FIFA like always with another hope that maybe this year they will make for us amazingly deep in gameplay and realistic at the same time game of football.

Its ridiculous how the most popular sport in the world which is football cannot be represented correctly in a football game.

I am 34 years old and I remember very well my times with kick off, sensible soccer, ISS, every Pro Evo (5 was so amazing), Wining Eleven 9 Liveware Evolution etc. Of course these games are old times games when the technology was not there yet but with every game you had a feeling that these games are the best of what we could achieve with back technology in terms of gameplay and as much realistic approach as possible with having in mind that one football game is like around 15-20 minutes as standard usually.

Then PS3 era…what a shame… I was so excited to see new football games especially PES as FIFA was still far behind.
Such a let down…
Especially having in mind that processors in PS3 and Xbox360 were a big jump in technology yet they still couldn’t deliver at least PS2 era gameplay. It was a very bad time for football fans in my opinion.

Then PS4 era and for me PES was already dead but I have had always my hopes as the true fan of old pes games but the reality for me is simple, only FIFA gave us some hope in PS4 era as PES was terrible all the way after PS2 era to be honest.
I just couldn’t stand that rigid and stiff gameplay, predictability, rocket shots and many more. PES lost its soul when transition from PS2 to PS3 happened. Konami just didn’t know how to make a good game with 360 degree of movement instead of 8… a one big mess.

Getting back to FIFA, they gave me some hope with FIFA 14, later on they lost me again a little bit with FIFA 15 and gave me another even bigger hope that they are going in the right direction with FIFA 16... then every other game was a rollercoaster and I have quite liked 18, 19 and that was it. Of course I have liked these games because I have been patching the game with some gameplay changes or sliders but there were definitely some really amazing video football games where I have been stunned. Sliding tackles, passes, shots, randomness and unpredictable games and many more. Of course there was always something which about I was saying that if they will change this or that we will be have a perfect football video game and I was so so so disappointed with 20 and especially 21.
I mean how is that even possible to go backward so much ?

Ok, I have thought that we have now PS5 and XSX on Ryzen processors which will definitely help them to deliver for us the gameplay which we - true football fans are waiting for years. And I have bought FIFA 21 for PS5 - I couldn’t believe of what I am playing on my own eyes but I have defended them like “ok this is usual because it’s EA and for sure we just need to wait another year as it will be the proper next gen FIFA”.

And now we have FIFA 22 with all these videos from beta and some initial reviews…

How is that possible that with today’s technology (Ryzen processors most importantly in these consoles) they are delivering such a sh.. in terms of gameplay ? Of course I know this is a business and money for them is the most important but really…this should be so so easy for them to fix the problems and for example gave us an option where we can play on “realistic mode” or even more sliders which will work.

I don’t wanna even touch the graphics etc part of the game because it definitely should be better in my opinion especially LOD but ok, I can live with this as it looks good enough to enjoy it anyway and it is always about the gameplay.

So we have Ryzen on the board and instead of making the game so much better in every way - physicality, AI, ball physic, aggression, etc we are going backward in so many ways which are fundamental for gameplay.

I am a true lover of football, played myself on semi pro level and even once I have been picked for representing U15 national team, football means a lot to me, I am watching every game of football which I only can on the weekends or Champions League. Waiting for every World Cup and European Cup like a child for Christmas and watching every football game on these tournaments and I love video games especially these about football - the most beautiful game.

We have 2021 and a lot of technology behind it, football games looks for me like the only games which are so much below an acceptable level when I will keep in mind that we have 2021 and it is the most popular sport in the world.

And every year is the same story… will we ever get a proper football video game with a proper pressure from the opponent, proper aggression and fouls as it should be ?

Guys tell me where I can take a part and write something or vote to help us to get a proper football game from EA ? I am alone but together we can make a change and make EA hear us and introduce for us some proper simulation of football in the future. Most probably it will not work this year but maybe we can help the future ?

Sorry for my long post, I am very rarely write anything on evoweb but this time it is too much…PS2 era as last great era for football video games and “sometimes” PS4 era but always with some serious individual problems like lack of fouls etc ?
This is a joke if we know what kind of technology and possibilities we have today.

Peace !

You have said everything. We have the technology but Konami and EA don't give a damned now about gameplay, it's only micro transaction.

I've played so many matchs on Sensible Soccer on my Atari STF. But the gameplay was so deep like PES 5, Winning Eleven 9 and FIFA 16. Gameplay was the Heart of the game, made by passionnate people, realism was the keyword.

Look at Top Spin 4, NBA 2K11, two masterpieces of Virtual sport. 1 decade has passed, always on top!

FIFA or PES could be GOTY if each year, realism was on the center of the game.

We help each other to appreciate these games but they have so many issues, and fondamental issues. A football with no faults, no inertia, no center, no long shoot, no marking, no goalkeeper, no midfield battle didn't exist ten year before. Why? Marketing.

We only want to appreciate and custom our loving game. Football is a so damned good sport with suspens, emotion, tension. We have that before but now, not really.

Socialable Soccer the follow up to Sensi is out this year after they finally got a publisher. If Fifa and efootball are average hopefully that pulls through and is great.

The version that's out now on Apple isn't great (sorry to the guy from here who works for them, but I think even he would admit it's a pick-up-and-play mobile game and it's not supposed to be realistic).

Bloody hell. That's a lot of jobs, all at once. With many specifically for FIFA (direct from the horse's mouth).

Seems like a shake-up is on the cards. But not this year, and maybe not even next year.

It would explain why it feels like FIFA is currently in a period lacking any real change.

EDIT: Including this biggie...

Typically, mass recruitment is the product of expansion or exodus. I do wonder if it's either, and why.

Sensi was pick up and play and very arcadey. I was hoping it was just a graphical update of it.

Whilst it would be nice to think it was to help them move to a new engine and ensure they deliver genuinely advanced next-gen gaming, a pessimistic view would be that it's EA's reaction to Konami's strategic move to a cross-platform, free-2-play, 1-v-1, eSport focussed game. EA need to ensure they keep up/stay ahead of the game and want new recruits who will deliver that and are in touch with the next generation of kids and what they want.

A reaction of someone about my sliders in FIFA 22 beta forum :

"Ok… so I played a couple more games with your sliders.

I think it’s important that I caveat this by saying I play with manual everything apart from shooting, which is on Semi. World class difficulty and analogue sprinting turned off, because against the AI it makes your players feel sluggish when accelerating. There’s also another point I’ll add at the end.

I think these were the most enjoyable games I’ve played against the AI since the beta began. Obviously I had to recalibrate my thumbs for the pass strength, but it felt good. The games weren’t goalfests and I had my first clean sheets in both directions. Lost 1, won 2.

The AI did put in a couple of crosses, but largely the issues with crosses and shooting outside the box remain. I also still feel like there was little difference between the playstyles of the teams, although Burnley were playing some long balls and Man City seemed to play more clever passes.

There’s a weird reaction delay on the controlled players that the AI doesn’t have. I think perhaps this is more noticeable playing at a slower speed. Defensive positioning of my players is still toss, but perhaps because of the slower speed, it didn’t present as much of an issue.

It’s definitely not a fix, but in my opinion, it did feel better.

That said, we come to that other caveat.

I’ve played quite a few games now and I’m a little concerned that I’ve played enough to start playing around the issues and compensating for the bad AI. I think you need more feedback on these sliders to make sure I’m not just giving a false positive"

Just look at this gameplay:

This game is so broken I cannot believe it how EA cannot see this 😳

I have watched the whole game on a big screen and it is so bad that it is even quite hard to describe it…

Players are skating more than ever, ball is bouncing very floaty and the passing and receiving the ball is very strange I would say it is quite FIFA-ish but man come on these football players aren’t monkeys and they movement should be more like human being, no midfield, no defence, no aggression, no fouls, no pressure, absolutely broken AI in both attack and defence, AI is not shooting from the distance and not crossing the ball in to the box, ping pong passing where there is no point of even trying to steal the ball back and many more as honestly there is hardly anything good I could say about this beta of FIFA 22…
The game is completely off and it is not looking like a football at all.

It is so bad that I don’t know how even FUT players can enjoy this game, seriously.

Absolutely shocking. This clip is against the AI on Legendary. The human player being the team who have three players stood in the box for ten seconds, while the AI defenders literally stand around NOT EVEN LOOKING AT THEM.

You can jog up and down the wing for ten minutes, and it'll still look like that in the middle.

I can't believe my eyes.

It is by far the worst defence AI ive seen in any football game. Equally infurating is when the ball gets passed to a player in the box and all your players who are quite close to him then run away from him in all directions letting him shoot.

Just dont understand the logic behind it. Either the AI is broken in the beta and its fixed full game or its broken and they cannot fix it.

Release day will be interesting.

tenor (2) (13).gif
Ughh... that looks awful...
And the skating in above clip is on whole new level.. it looks like during Match Of The Day analysis, where they move players images around the screen..

On top of that - AI had some 19th century hammer + chisel lobotomy..

Fuck me sideways, what a mess..

Gowan, Fifa 23! I believe in you!

So you can score header with a 165cm player.
EA is against all kind of discrimination, that's why.

No seriously, in what difficulty, even lower than normal a player could be that free on the penalty area?

What i see in that gif, the number 5 orange (the only one who seems to get closer to the ball a bit) is following the ball with his "eyes" without any sort of intention, neither doing something vs the ball, neither against the possible receiver.
