FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Someone in another post suggested going to the main menu options and changing the attributes option from default to classic to eliminate the tiki taka, ping pong passing by the ai.

I tried it and it has 90% worked making for a much more realistic game from the ai.

These attribute are modified depending on each player’s positions: (default)
Attackers (Forwards and Wingers)
Acceleration +6, Sprint Speed +4
Positioning +10, Finishing +8, Shot Power +4, Long Shots +6, Volleys +4
Agility +4, Balance +2, Reactions +4, Dribbling +4, Composure +4
Midfielders (Central, Attacking, Wide)
Acceleration +6, Sprint Speed +4, Positioning +8
Vision +10, Crossing +2, Short Passing +8, Long Passing +6
Agility +4, Reaction +4, Dribbling +4, Composure +4
Defenders and Defensive Midfielders
Acceleration +6, Sprint Speed +4, Aggression +2
Vision +2, Short Passing +4, Long Passing +2, Reactions +4, Composure +4
Interceptions +8, Defensive Awareness +10, Stand Tackle +8, Slide Tackle +4
Goalkeepers
Diving +6, Handling +4, GK Kicking +4, Reflexes +6, GK Positioning +4, Reactions +6
this can be done only on fifa 22 beta?

So something I noticed through about 30 kick off games was that every team seems to have default tactics of slow build up from the back and then possession in attacking third. This was resulting in a couple things a) tiki taka b) zero crosses.

Started a game. Bristol City (me) vs Reading (CPU) and changed my tactics to long ball and forward runs, switched teams to see if the CPU would keep those tactics in place.

They did and the opposition play so much differently. Its actually refreshing to see some different attacks from the AI. They scored from a cross minutes later.

I'll raise on the beta forums an issue with all teams having same tactics and hopefully that gets fixed. But if not its still positive news for offline career guys who can make those changes to teams in their league before they start a career.

No offense but those + and - aren't right. You should revise your way to do the math : what will you do if the player got 94 in long passing for example?
Looks, as is worked on a converter, and stuffs like that, the better way is to reduce the percentage of stats.
For example 70 on 99-98 (i don't remember if there's a 99 players in Fifa except Akinfenwa in Strenght) you reduce the difference between 70 and 99.

I'm a bit lazy to found the math (it wasn't very complicated) but that's how i gotted a system for increase/decrease without having 105 as result, and also the more logic as a way to enlarge the scale / even if too much enlarging means you will get some missing results, like in don't know never get "64" but 62 or 63.

this can be done only on fifa 22 beta?
Even on base Fifa, i would like to know if it's doable to edit a bit more players. It was super restricted, we can't even change stats, height, weight, names etc.
That would be better for at least fakes Brasileirao teams.

This helps - but can't be done in Career Mode. It's exclusive to Kick Off...

Played for a couple of hours tonight. Mostly Ajax v Feyernoord going both teams on different difficulties.

Outcome is EA is really dumbing down the users AI as when playing against the AI they function properly and midfielders will get back and help out. My default Ajax midfield would be completly hopeless have zero interest in defending, my defenders running away from those with the ball inside the box but when you play against Ajax (world class) its a completely different story and they are fairly functional and can keep things pretty tight.

It seems to me after a couple of hours testing that the user AI must be dumbed to around amateur / Semi pro.

Is there an option to increase AI of own team?

Even with average teams...
The thing is, with all the bad report i see and read, even EA will needs a Full year to make it not frustrating at least. Things mentionned are touching both off and online.
Do you think they care? Serious question after "efootball" is playing another court now, and will be out far later than them whatsoever.

Every year i read "it's far better than the beta" and when i buy the game i'm meh? How bad was the beta then? And vids from Beta or Demo to me are similar to the final game. I've seen some changes on some official patch yes for sure, obvious, even if some where impossible (example : the bug of FIFA 10 when the Keeper was far too advanced and always running to your feet. 2 lobs on 3 resulted to a goal/very sad as it was the first football game offering 360 degree dribbling we were blowed up by controling with that feature, it feeled so good...)
But well, i see less and less "game changer patch" with the time, just very small stuffs corrected for career bugs etc.

Do you guys think it's possible that this time, they will balance a bit the beta to gets a bit less easier to attack (and a bit less effective to defend)?
So we may get scores at least normal. I mean, it's not the scores who tilt me, there's scores like that every weeks.
But the number of high scores, sometimes very high, is way too much.
I don't follow the feedbacks on twitter if they're positive or negative but i remember at least Fifa 20 Beta or/and 21 got the same big issue (for us it's an issue, perhaps less for them) and it didn't changed on the final game, neither with the following patchs.

I don't want to be pessimistic, i would like to hope, but it's been 3 years a row we got the same level of high scoring due to > easy to attack / weird and unnatural to defend. I sincerely don't think they will make a 180 degree after all that time spent with the same "issues".
Probably people, well pretty young people like it.

I can't show stats for the game now.
I will play it again later and show you stats from game.

But so far every game ends in the same similar score line - Piss easy to score and impossible to defend.
alright...thx! i'm looking for the stats to put them in comparison to the score.
what length are the halves in the beta?

I watched a few defending tutorials last night (the fact i need to look up tutorials to simply defend is insane, Defending should be the easy part not the hard part) and it helped a bit but when the AI is passing balls about at 100mph around and in your box and your defenders are running away from players your right it is impossible you need the reflexes of a cat!! Infuriating as there is defo a decent game there underneath and ive not liked a Fifa since about Fifa 12.

I also got my first freekick on the edge of the box last night, WTH is going on with freekicks? How can something so simple feel so complicated? Felt as if i needed a degree in engineering to take it.

I watched defending vids I think for FIFA 20. and 21 was similar.
However FIFA 22 the defenders are so brain dead it takes any fun at all out the game, there is no battles, no tackling.. It is all about just blocking..
But since your guys controlled by CPU are so brain dead they just let players walk free in dangerous positions, there is absolutely no awareness of other players around them.

This is FUT players want the game, and online I am sure games will easily end up being 20-19.

not agree that defending should be the easy part. defending even in real life is most difficult thing to do, much practice is needed. now in fifa 21/22 defending is much more complicated and less assisted than before, that doesn`t mean is rewarding but more difficult becouse you have to move more players simultaneously.

Scoring goals is the most difficult thing to do in football. In Fifa its the easiest thing to do!

There's some websites showing 22 stats, Fifa Index or i don't remember. But the number of team is limited like probably on the beta (i searched Austin the new MLS team, but it wasn't on it, neither some others leagues or full leagues)
Not interested by stats changes of Messi or Locatelli or whoever, but i like to check stats from newcomers never been in game in the past.

The reality sinks in………….football games and the way they should be made to represent the actual game……..is gone.

Ive moved on to something less frustrating and disappointing…never thought I’d see the day………I’ll look again in October to see, if by some miracle, it’s better than the beta!

I noticed this last night as well BUT to edit all the clubs is painstaking since there's no way to share rosters amongst ourselves. Not only that but then you do run the risk of teams playing similar with those Long Ball tactics. Last point, they still don't send in low crosses and tbh, I'm not quite sure how EA counts "crosses" but at least it's semi-encouraging even if it's a legacy problem from FIFA 21.

First game of the Premier League Season:-
Legendary AI

Waouh that is a lot of goals!
Do you have slowdown the game with sliders?
I play on Champion and legend with United:
*Vs PSG I have made a draw 1-1 on Champion's League group with an amazing bicycle by Greenwood.
*Another draw Vs Arsenal 1-1
* A win 3-1 vs Newcastle,
*a short victory vs the Hammer 0-1 and they have a lot of shoots, De Gea was on fire, because I was bad on defense
*masterpiece match versus Spur 3-3!

I have changed sliders and AI have 2 red cards and I have 2 dangerous FK.

Stats meaned players stats bro lol
That kind of match statistics have been posted on every page practically, no issue about it

Played about 10 more games and if they don't fix the AI defending (lack of) then there's no chance I'm buying.

How does anyone play the player career mode on this?

I played a half controlling only 1 CM and the rest of the team are just passengers. No pressing, no containing, no marking, dropping deeper and deeper until the CPU can pass into the box for an open shot.

No wonder screenshots posted earlier have such high xG.

I moved onto golf last year. All of my mates agreed it was less frustrating and a better experience.

Playing became fun and enjoyable again with losing feeling valid and your own fault or someone else playing better.
We still dip back in but both games are in rough shape.

I would like mate but it's against the rules of the beta.
I have made 4 games, and I'm in love of this game, really.
I have apply my FIFA 21 nextgen sliders with some changes and they worked beautifuly.
A bit too speed, and always lake of faults but I love this. The new ball physics looks like Pes' one, it a good sign!
No problem of marking too.
It's a solid base.
By default, it's really really bad, but with some sliders, it's reminds me FIFA 16 demo, version nextgen 😍
I'm a FUMA player and it's more difficult to master FIFA 22 than FIFA 21 nextgen.
Bad foot and with a defender, and you kill the mother of a Royal eagle behind the stadium!
GK are amazing really! Donarouma is a phenomem😎
Can u kindly share the sliders u been using?

Not feeling this beta at all, Fifa has been awful since fifa 20 for me. Its just so easy work the ball up the pitch and create chances it feels so unrewarding. the lack of fouls also kills the game. The way the cpu play with perfect touches and passes trying to walk the ball in the net feels like the fifa of old. Maybe sliders can fix some of these issues?

They need to bring out a sim mode in the future with realistic AI, actual fouls and having to actually work for space on pitch, it can't be that hard can it as there is a decent base it just feels so lifeless now.

From the video it looks typical FIFA. It has potential, but is catered first and foremost for online, then comes the rest. Meaning, sort it out yourself with the sliders and good luck!

So, the community goes to work and it actually feels and looks pretty good and authentic... but not quite. All the same issues come drifting above because, well, it is first and foremost catered to online. It will be decent fun, but never be great as long as 'we' are an afterthought.

And to make matters worse, all 22 players still walk, run and pass like pooping crabs on iceskates.

It’s not hard at all………..EA choose to do it this way……….. it is as (what they describe) as “balance”!

No game is just with default sliders.
I score on average 4--6 goals a game and concede 2-4.

I win most games, but it is just stupid how easy it is too score and it really isn't helped by the worse goalkeepers, I have ever seen in a game.
