FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

From videos above it looks like different game than those little parts of gameplay in the trailers. This guy play on easy I guess, even on fifa 21 on amateur you can`t score like that. Also that is probably ps4 version of the game, not next gen with hypermotion.

Just to say i am playing on XSS for those who read my infos.

Also I've noticed new ball physics. Air ball animations when player jumping are great.
Also GKs have some new animations.
I don't know but for me game looks much better. There are still some ugly skating stuff when i have just don't feel player heavier. But less than old games.
Definitely feels different for me. Some times feels slower, but i need to be even slower (without sliders).

When ball hits goalnet, sound is much much louder now.

When i play games it keeps me playing more and more (like FIFA 16 now in the past 5 years). And keeps me fun. It's not great but as i said i don't care about simulation until it's fun and until i want to play it more and more.

But as always lack of stadiums (compared to fan made for FIFA 16), new leagues and teams and graphics updates keeps me away from playing new FIFA games.

THE FOLLOWING LINK WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE BEEN SENT THE BETA AND LOG INTO YOUR EA ACCOUNT.

Someone has posted on the beta forum about the issues of there being a completely passive midfield, no tracking back, no fouls etc.

IF YOU'RE ON THE BETA and you agree, please give it a "like" (or XP as they call it there). The link:

Brief summary of what it says:

There's barely any fouls, ever. By you or the AI. There's no defending in the midfield (no tracking back, no working second-man press) so no build-up play is needed - which is made worse by the fact that you and the AI never really misplace a pass, despite how bad your pass choice is, or how bad the teams are.

Because of this, there are tons of shots per game and yet rather than make chance creation harder, they've just made AI blocks massively OP. You get massively high xG every match, with those blocks being the only way that the score stays low (and not even that low). See screenshot.

So, everything will be the same for offline players. This plus the video that was posted earlier has already turned me off completely.

I could be wrong but the skating does seem worse than ever. In older games sometimes there was a longer 1st touch when receiving the ball which seems to have been replaced by constant skating when receiving every other pass so the player can do the next thing required by input without any pause. At least that's how it looks to me. Maybe old-gen with no hypermotion will be better in this regard, lol.

Out of 4 games played last night their were 5 fouls committed by the ai, 2 of which resulted in penalties. That’s more penalties I’ve been awarded in PES 21 in 10 months,

Spot on Chris, as many people as possible need to like the post, provide their own feedback and post examples. Keep the points simple and to the point so they don’t get lost.

Long shot anyway, but if there’s going to be any kind of adjustment, now is the only chance. There won’t be anything post release.

Well, how thoroughly depressing. It looks like I'll be playing fifa 16 and 19 for the rest of my life, if I ever feel like playing again that is.

It seems it would easier for EA just to develop the game properly, then weaken/standardise it for online mob. (Konami had an option for this the last few years, all player stats uniform.)
And then just completely reduce down cm's stats, or put cm's at amateur difficulty. They already can adjust difficultly of individual players.

They way theyve gone about it is nonsensical. I just imagined what it must be like in their offices, carefully toning down any elements of realism that may creep into the game. Imagine that being your job, your life's work? The unquantifiable emptiness of it?

Maybe one day they'll offer this offline mode we're after. I have a strange feeling they will.

I really hope that everyone who saw this and have beta access are also going to that forum and giving it a "like", or adding to it.
This is our shot, right there. All we can do is keep persisting on pushing constructive feedback like this.
It might seem like a hopeless case, but if we dont support official appeals like the one above - we cant blame EA for not noticing this

Well, we simply need PS5 gameplay in fullHD or 4k ... playing on World Class. That would be good example of what this game is going to be. I cant really see quality of animations on those low-res footage.

100%

When they added Sliders? FIFA 11? We have 10 years with the same sliders...so think about it. They want a unique gameplay style...

If we don't have new Sliders we won't never have a "realistic" and coherent gameplay. CDM tracking back, body weight, turns, foot planting, ball physics, fouls, etc. EA ignore feedback from "realistic and offline players". We saw it before...

Everything could be added as new Sliders settings...

I think EA wants machine learning just for saving time adding new animations. Machine Learning doesn't mean always "realism" and "respect for laws of physics" at all. Quantity over quality...

Anyway this kind of Beta is usually to be a old build. So maybe they worked on adding more Hypermotion % on the final build.

Here is a good video, I think the movement looks quite good here:

2:10 of the video.... just look at that fucking guy strolling in the midfield...

The ice skating is even worse in my opinion. I do see loads of new animations but zero care in the transitions.

EDIT: I had to turn it off, couldn't stand watching that KNOBHEAD play.

Can anyone with a decent IQ post a video while playing the game properly?

I've played more than 10 games. Even though it looks like 21 at first, game feels different than 21. The more play it, the more i realize what's been improved. Definitely better than 21 in almost every aspect. Player movement, ball physics, passing, goalkeeper animations, variety of attacks ( positive randomness ). The only downsize for me is that scoring goal in the third is still easy.

after that painful E Football presentation, i was ready for Fifa this year...

but after that vid, i know why I am playing PES every year, that not my style of football :SHAKE:

hope the Fifa demo will impress me more, really want to give FIFA a chance this year
Yeah I'm out too unless the FIFA 22 full launch is vastly different. It's going to be the same old shit, different year though isn't it?

Call me cynical but I just don't see why/how EA would slow it all down, give us loads of fouls etc etc to appease the single player. Their cash cow is FUT and keeping the FUT players happy is what's important. To keep FUT players engrossed it needs to be end-to-end action at 100 mph with 4-5 goals scored every match. All fouls do is slow everything down and make it too "stop-start" for the FUT player (I've literally seen someone say on Twitter that's why they loved FIFA - because it's non-stop action!)

I'm so fed up with modern day football gaming. We've now got the only two developers who make football games 99% focused on FUT & myClub/whatever-its-going-to-be-called-in-eFootball and 1% on us guys (the Career Mode player).

It's just boring now. Thank god for PES 5.

Wait a minute, did he say "I am going to play the game in the hardest difficulty"?!

Reading the beta forums it seems I'm not the only one on next gen to have received a code for last gen. Unfortunate because I can't compare the 2 properly now.

Playing as man utd on legendary in kick off mode on xbox "standard" version:

Noticeably though the ball physics are improved, and player weight and momentum is heavier than before. Maybe not enough but an improvement. Ive seen some goalkeepers parrying shots into the net, like not getting a strong enough hand onto it, and one save dropped nicely for a tap in. Was satisfying seeing them be a bit more human like.

Midfield seemed a bit more congested to me. But then I did notice that my defence had a much higher starting line than I'm used to seeing.

AI play some lovely stuff at times. Seem a bit shy to shoot on the edge of the box but when they get inside they are very adept at scoring. I got battered at home vs Chelsea. Crowd audio is much better, it felt like the Chelsea fans were rocking. They do mix play up a bit, with long balls played at times when appropriate. Players do also try and take you on and use the knock on feature.

Will report back more when I've had longer with it, but first impressions are promising. I'm excited to see what the next gen version is like with the visuals and hypermotion
Hi there, can you confirm all the different camera angles for the PS4 version.
Thanks

Wait a minute, did he say "I am going to play the game in the hardest difficulty"?!

Yes he did, and I was laughing really hard when son scored with that run with half the AI players casually jogging in the midfield. Won't even mention that the cpu team had the GK set as the corner taker... Or how many times the ball hit the post. Or that it ended 4-4.

The only thing we dont know is if sliders this year can compress the game to the point the midfield actually becomes relevant.

Well I wasn't having much higher expectations.. words about high scoring being exciting etc. already made clear where we were going. So this videos aren't really surprising. I feel for the guy explaining in the EA forum the matter like they are 5 years old.. unfortunately I bet they'll just won't listen. We had people begging on social medias for all the last two years that single player need his own thing but they are completely deaf to the matter, probably purposefully.

So yeah.. definitely not picking up a Ps5 for this lol.

They make such a big hype, but in the end the game looks really bad and it’s the same every year.

Konami should learn marketing from EA and that’s it.

I am out based on the screenshot from @Chris Davies as its very telling. Especially the lack of fouls I mean jesus EA.. you are pulling a Konami on us now?

It sounds like this "Machine learning" thats mean to be making the AI behaviour more realistic is working wonders then... They are just becoming Super Blockers rather than behaving realistically?

Another year of not having a good football game to play? Back to PES 5 for me.

Ok got the closed beta yesterday, only had one match but heres my thoughts. I play on professional with tele cam, all manual.

Pros

Players feel a lot more fluid on the ball. You can definitely feel the extra animations in the hyper motion
Lots of extra animations and fluidity I'm seeing
keepers are really good and react superbly and contextually
AI feels a bit more switched on and aware of the players they have in support and will vary their attacks
Better commentary i feel

Cons

Player models still don't look right and a bit plasticky
Kits dont look that great, graphics all in all still don't feel next gen to me
My defence was hard to control with tactical defending. I played Brentford and they had 16 shots. But I dunno if thats me coming from playing Pes and i need to adjust
No new kits, stadiums feel the same

All in all not bad especially as Pes is a dead duck. I have to say I played on default sliders too so haven't adjusted anything like I normally to to bring more error into play for myself and CPU so imagine theres plenty of wiggle room.

Oh and the midfield feels a bit more contested.

And I did see plenty of fouls and handballs in the game I played.

You can't expect lots of fouls by the CPU if you play on levels higher than professional because they are trying to play the perfect game in order to make it a challenge.

My advice would be to bring the skill level down to a more balanced level and switch to manual.

Sounds like a whole lot of workarounds which will still make some aspects of the game easier...
