FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

Looks like last gen version.
PS5 version has a different camera angle and mascots.

He changes to the new camera later on (which incidentally makes it look a lot better, my first impression was same old shite). The breakaway goal had some nice zip on the passing and really good player movement

Players physics seems to be different. Feels like they are heavier and game seems and feel slower which is great for me.

They changed goalnet physics also.
Just to update info.

I also saw some new animations. Also some of them sometimes look so fluid and nice.
Also there was some really great moments during gameplay.
Maybe also player movement is noticeable.

You should know that i dont care about simulation, i love to play football games as casual player and to enjoy recreating matches.

It's completely a FIFA 17-21, whatever you say. The way you move, the ball, passing, dribbling, shooting... I don't see any difference for switching to it.
I don't care about position if the fundamental which are physics, inertia and ball physics are still, feels the same.

Hypermotion is probably just an animation system. Personnally it will be retro-footy, Fifa 11 for Fifa this year, and Perhaps even older games i never made a Master league. Or a career, i don't know.
So, efootball of nothing on next-gen about football / if the forum's Nostradamus aren't right of course and it will be a mobile PS5 game.
But i won't buy what i just saw, FIFA 20 with more animations.

Can't say that this plays any better against the AI than fifa 21 unfortunately. The users AI players, particularly defenders, literally just spectate and you can't possibly control all 10 outfielders at the same time.

And even on higher difficulties it's too easy to create chances and score goals.

The game is designed with FUT in mind and that isn't going to change anytime soon. Thrilling 4-3s sell copies not 0-0s.

Well, that's not only video that makes the "effect", you can see the changes of direction not humanly possible in terms of physiciality. It's not a matter of speed.
Disappointed. But i'll buy it when the price will be down, or on Ebay for sure. Just for the sake of having a new game on a new console, football based.

Only think stopping me from getting hyped is, as far as I know, zero fouls again..
And the fact that it’s going to be piss easy as it always is on Frostbite. No amount of sliders will make the CPU attack me.

(I’m being negative to jinx everything so it turns out good, I have everything crossed, toes, fingers, laces…)

Off Thread: i want a VS game. A good one from what i saw. Just for info, is there a date for Esport Boxing Club? There's career mode and it looks pretty cool. Off thread closed/

I got even harder to gets hope about Fifa as it's selling like bread with the same gameplay since a long time. So no needs to change.
Are you impressed by the animations? Hypermotion sounds like a new animation system, but if the producers decide to accelerate/decelerate some of them...

You can have 6000 more (small/specials) animations like without ball etc., if the basics animations still always the same and you don't like then; not visually i found them cool but in another way > with controller in hand when i move with players with and without the ball : i don't feel the players "steps". Hard to define. Well in big, i don't feel what i'm doing so i don't have good sensations. And the feeling of easiness to produce things which should be difficult is the other reason i can't stand more than 3 or 4 game before cutting the console.

We're all in the same case mate. We all hope. Even a "Fifa 17" inertia and kind of feeling and i'll be happy no joke.
It's really sad that FIFA needs to follow the others games engine, such as UFC, Battelfield and stick to Frostbite and not a completely football based engine...
They've got the ressources for that, it's a pain. But well, i know more people playing Battelfield, whatever version, now... I don't know if it sells more than Fifa.
But well, there's gameplay choices, and it's even more important in FIFA case than the engine in fact.

I'm not impressed at all.... I want to believe it's because of the awful way the guy is playing it. And man, that skate fest is all over the shop again....
Christ that looks absolutely horrible. We do have to bear in mind it’s PSG v Portsmouth (lol) and he’s probably playing on semi pro because people do weird shit like that.

But even then…the gameplay looks bad. Like a typical FUT match.

It's a bit looking better against a CPU in "champion" or "legend", but still to me the same feeling of easiness to do superhuman things unfortunately.
Even when i played with Libertadores teams on FIFA 20, with Binacional. No joke.

Stunning graphics. I'm sure you would need a Core i11, 128 gb ram and 3x RTX 4090 to run this ultra-futuristic-hypermotion game in PC.
Graphics are okay and players models... Hard to tell as it's all players motion captured, but it looks cool.
Only one thing, on pictures showing FIFA 22, you could've see players "eyes", they were finally looking "alive, not like robots without souls.
But we need a direct captured vid because it's exactly the same as every older Fifa in fact / when they're celebrating it's obvious especially Mbappe.
Well it's a detail, but on PES i don't know, even created players with the IG editor gives the feeling to have souls in their eyes.
Weird, and not important in comparison to the other things, but it's just... I don't understand why they looks so robots in their looks.

This is what we now have to beg for. I honestly don't think they realise gamers like us exist, i.e. people who won't be frustrated at having to grind out results and won't be upset if the scores are often low.
They should do a proper public survey instead of guessing what the public want and if the majority don’t want it then we have to accept we are extreme minority and no point arguing to improve the game to our liking cos we are obsolete.

Well the Liverpool guys is probably not used to defend, you can see it instantly when he goes everywhere except on the player who got the ball lol.
Tactical defending which is hard an not really natural for a non used player + how easy it's to make it flows the ball and dribble cause those results (and the PSG guy miss a lot too, it could have been 15-0)
It's probably a PES player vs a casual FIFA player from that vid. Still, it's a Fifa, he didn't tryed too much the super accel system / sometimes, but in a random direction

Thanks for sharing btw guys

Yeah, at least we/you could've stop to waste your time to send feedback to devs, on twitter etc. if you see that feedbacks from here are obsolete.
But i know a lot of casual Fifa gamers who also given up the game since the 17. Not even football games fans. But those guys won't loose their time to send feedbacks like us.

Anybody in here playing the beta on a series x and not sure if they are playing the series x version? Can't figure out if I'm seeing any hypermotion stuff

Also the default camera isn't the same as the series x it's the standard camera from last gen
Reading the beta forums it seems I'm not the only one on next gen to have received a code for last gen. Unfortunate because I can't compare the 2 properly now.

Playing as man utd on legendary in kick off mode on xbox "standard" version:

Noticeably though the ball physics are improved, and player weight and momentum is heavier than before. Maybe not enough but an improvement. Ive seen some goalkeepers parrying shots into the net, like not getting a strong enough hand onto it, and one save dropped nicely for a tap in. Was satisfying seeing them be a bit more human like.

Midfield seemed a bit more congested to me. But then I did notice that my defence had a much higher starting line than I'm used to seeing.

AI play some lovely stuff at times. Seem a bit shy to shoot on the edge of the box but when they get inside they are very adept at scoring. I got battered at home vs Chelsea. Crowd audio is much better, it felt like the Chelsea fans were rocking. They do mix play up a bit, with long balls played at times when appropriate. Players do also try and take you on and use the knock on feature.

Will report back more when I've had longer with it, but first impressions are promising. I'm excited to see what the next gen version is like with the visuals and hypermotion
