Update 3

Gameplay

Addressed the following issues.
  • In a rare situation, the ball could be moved during a free kick without play resuming for both sides.
  • In some situations, the referee did not call for a foul after the goalkeeper made illegal contact with the ball carrier.
  • Addressed some stability issues that could occur during the 2nd half.
  • Sometimes, goalkeepers were jumping too far forward when attempting to make a diving save.
    • These jumping animations did not affect a goalkeeper’s ability to make saves.
  • In some instances, the referee incorrectly cancelled their advantage call, resulting in an unintended set piece.
  • When playing as a locked player, the opposition’s defensive line could have continued following the locked player deep into their own half, even when it was not beneficial to do so.
  • Own goals could have sometimes registered as a Shot On Target for the scoring side.

Career Mode

Made the following change:
  • Added a Change Team Sheet shortcut on the Training Hub, enabling the manager to quickly cycle between Team Sheets for Training Drills.
  • When getting transferred to a new club in Player Career, Pros with an OVR of 86 and higher will immediately be a part of the starting XI.

Addressed the following issues:
  • Career Mode progression could have been lost between play sessions depending on how the mode was exited.
    • When exiting Career Mode, the save pop up has been updated to have Save and Quit as the first option as it allows players to manually choose their save slot.
  • In Player Career, the Avoid Conceding objective UI did not display correctly.
  • In Player Career, the player controlled Pro could become a member of the starting XI unintentionally quickly.


VOLTA FOOTBALL

Made the following change:
  • Added 2 new party games to VOLTA ARCADE.
    • These will only be available following a server update. Please follow @EAFIFADIRECT for updates on when this will be live in-game.
  • Added a shortcut for deallocating all Skill Points used in the Skill Tree.
  • Added an audio cue that plays when there’s a new leader in VOLTA ARCADE party games.
Addressed the following issues:
  • When playing VOLTA BATTLES through Activities, the opposing Squad OVR could display an incorrect number.
  • The Signature Ability button callout did not always display during matches when the Signature Ability was ready to be activated.
  • When selecting an AI controlled teammate in the Change Outfit menu found in the Store and browsing the available items, the player’s Avatar could be displayed instead.
  • The ball could have sometimes traveled through the Musical Nets VOLTA ARCADE party game.
  • During the Wall Ball VOLTA ARCADE party game, the white shooting limit line will now display as red when the player controlled Avatar crosses it.
  • Addressed a stability issue that could occur when playing a VOLTA FOOTBALL Survival match.

General, Audio, and Visual

Made the following changes:
  • Updated some badges, commentary lines, kits, banners, flags, broadcast packages, stadia, pre-match scenes, and tifos.
  • Updated 31 starheads and 1 new starhead.
    • This will only be available following a server update. Please follow @EAFIFADIRECT for updates on when this will be live in-game.

Looks like a non-dangerous update for those of us who liked last week's update and were praying EA doesn't withdraw its fouls update. That remains to be seen of course.

That last one, though, the 'various instances of typos and incorrect UI/text formatting' – I'd like if it meant the de-Americanisation of the in-game text for Euro English speakers. On this side of the pond sports clubs are plural entities. I wince every time I see 'Bolton is interested in buying Joe Bloggs' instead of the correct 'Bolton are interested in buying Joe Bloggs'. Almost as bad as the year they left in 'you have been drawn against the Wolverhampton Wanderers', etc.

'The latest Title Update will soon be available for the PC (Origin/Steam) version of FIFA 22 and will include the changes below.'

I think this is just for PC version.
 
So since the game has settled in, it s been a month , can anyone provide a definite say about this game? Is it great? Is it a keeper?is it the game we all wanted?

This is based on the PC version, but someone asked the same question in the PC thread and this was my answer:

Yeah definitely, get the balance right with the sliders/difficulty/controls and it's the best Fifa in years IMO.
 
The last patch made this game even better. i have just to rise up a slider and it's look great!

thing is, i had a huuuge smile on my face when the AI scored that winning goal! Not a second i was furious… no, I was thinking of van Basten (well knowing his goal is still unrivaled)! seconds later I stood up, put my controller down and said to myself: well done, really well done, you sneaky bastards…! :LOL:

Why does the game offer quick settings on the direction buttons but no way to use them during the numerous and often lengthy cutscenes? I can't read what I am picking while I am also dribbling with the ball.
noticed this as well! i want to be in control all the time... but have to wait, giving my tactical command, till the ball keeps on rolling.
why are throw ins not fully manual? why are kick offs not fully manual? why are goal kicks not fully manual? and i have even more questions... :D

yeah the throw ins are often ridiculous. "Let me just tap the button ever so slightly..." and the ball flies like it was shot from a cannon

exactly! all i wanna do is throw the ball like a meter in front of myself... noooo... always to my mate no matter how much power i apply! ^^ i tried the long throw ins (wich are are farce when the regular ones arent doing what they are supposed to do), same outcome! how do both versions differ anyway?! i dont see much of a difference when the ball gets locked towards a player anyway!
same with the air battles! players get locked and are not fully manual anymore!
 
Nobody here have this bug : on CPU Free kick, the CPU makes 30s to hit the damned ball! I clicked on all buttons but nothing is moving! Very strange bug!

I have it also. Had it on FIFA 21 as well.

And all in all 6 or 7 "green screen crashes" of my Series X. Only when playing FIFA.

Select receiver with flicking right stick and just throw to them.
Thats what I always do.
But dont get too close to the fella on the sideline as he will throw above him.

And still the ball gets locked to the player you selected! No way of throwing the ball just half it’s way towards the recipient!
power only seems to regulate how hard you throw, not how far.

same with goalie kicks. Always locked to a player and all power does is giving different height to the ball!

btw: at kick off you can now choose 3 players to play the ball to! Hurrays!! Not! ^^

Just a couple of my own tweaks , nothing drastic

Off the top of my head pass and shot speed at 52, pace at 52 first touch at 48 , CPU marking around 80 and power bar at 55. The increase in pass compensates for it being a bit slow on manual and the shot speed to compensate for the insane keepers
 
Doesnt look blurry on my LG In HDR and it's not as good as your TV..try adjusting with the in game settings ..older FIFAs looked bad in HDR for me ...washed out
Turned off HDR, and switched scene to sports on my tv, colours look way better now
 
Still having a blast, Man U are a fun team to use - especially since I like to use lower league teams.

if we only could get rid of those runs like at 0:34 min! at home i'm always like "dont follow the strikers run, silly, hold your freaking line, dude!!" :D
that Felix pass at 0:48 min looks nice... he's watching the scene, checking his mate, nicely done pass to the striker!
i notice some nice organic moves by the AI. some lovely stuff to be seen here, imo.

the more i watch of your footage... pal, are you getting better in manual passing and combining that with dribble moves!? it looks to me like that! bravo! :APPLAUD:

edit: oooohhh... that Sancho trickery at 5:40min... nice touch, i wish it would've bend in!

still, the very good teams tend to be a tad to frantic sometimes when releasing passes. at least thats what i see here and noticed myself when playing WC! its not as present when playing the likes of Frankfurt, Villa, Empoli... mid table teams. that why i'm still switching between difficulties from time to time (Prof. <> WC).

im having input delay in gameplay and in menu also is it just me?
Besides that im really enjoying the game, didnt touch Fifa in 6 years..

Edit: When i put my 4k sony tv scene on sports im getting this input lag, when i switch to general or picture or hdr i dont get input lag.
Scene “sports” looks the best , colours are just amazing, Hdr looks grey and odd

I love this years game.

my only real gripes are crossing…it just seemed nerfed, so random, like I’m not controlling it and the block tackles that continually bounce in favour of the opposition. I’m not talking the blocked shots I’m talking the press up, lunge type effort, it just bounces through in the same lane the player you are trying to disposses is running through…so they merrily go on in a huge amount of space causing defensive mayhe.
