FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

So of course I've gone back to it today!
God damn it, you were supposed to come back to it on Friday! Its only Wednesday! No wonder game is wrecking your head!

I got to say - i kinda like the keepers the way they are. My scores are quite low, but it might be down to professional and high shot error.
Yeah - sometimes the GKs are awful, but then some of their saves are amazing.
So there's a nice balance there.

I just can’t understand why kick offs and goalie kicks are not manual when playing fuma. :II
Are they not??
I didnt even notice, Im always passing to the closest fella.. hand throws defo are, as im throwing the ball all over the place, including opposite team.

Let's pray for the patch to not destroy the good things about this year's game!

I'm really liking what it's there right now.
I am playing the patched version on Stadia and so far so good :) The only thing I am noticing at the moment is that the AI is more aggressive at covering spaces and GKs are more balanced. I am playing World Class, FUMA.

Throw ins are, everything else is. not working when the ball is kicked from the hands of a keeper either. (Edit: this is working.) Try it yourself.

and hold close control (standard R2) at kick off, when pressing X to actually kick off.

I don't know if this was in the game before the patch release but I saw a couple of fouls being called when strikers charge the GK inside the six yard area. Nice touch!

Been playing the patched version on Stadia all morning. Nothing negative at all. The game is just so enjoyable. Sure, it's FIFA and there are wonky animations - and definitely a massive desire for more fouls, but overall, it's quite incredible. Those interested in the OS Sliders, we're now on track for a release of the set(s) either today or tomorrow.

What do you think of the 1080p resolution from Stadia for FIFA 22 in particular? It was quite blurry since the release but it definitely improved after the update in my opinion.

Just did two other games. Confirming my first impression for now and I agree with Matt, seems patch did nothing wrong. If anything I had the impression sliders impacted more my play especially regarding pass error, don't know if it's placebo tho. I'm on semi and I set PE quite high, around 80 iirc, and I think I saw way more dirty and wrong passes, noticed it especially with cross field passes.. before this patch they were almost always perfect (at least with decent/good teams), now it feels different. Need more matches to be sure anyway.

That sounds great, I'm glad!

Anyone in the UK looking to get a next-gen console - can't recommend the Xbox Series X highly enough, and it's just come into stock again online:

I really am tempted, especially game pass. But then I dont really play any other games and I really want those damn ps5 haptics.

I just need to get hold of a ps5, buy fifa and get the first patch downloaded before they bring out the second patch and ruin it all.

Slightly worrying (more than slightly) how much emphasis is put on "the feeling from scoring top-corner goals" and how they really don't want to stop them from going in.

It's a very clear statement that bags of goals = fun, in their opinion, and not "having to work hard and be clever to score a goal = fun".
Depends how you look at it , although I can live with it currently at times keepers are super human so toning them down a bit is not a bad thing

Agreed, it's much sharper than before. Looks good on the stadia.com and on my google tv as well.

My hope is as well that it cleans the animation up a bit when the keeper is trying to locate the ball with their hand (hand-wrist action) vs just flailing because there's no hope of stopping the shot.

Thanks for sharing Chris. I’m all in for a NG console now, not worried which one. I almost had an XSX yesterday, but just missed out when I went to process payment. I’m well prepared for the next drop here haha.

Good to hear patch is mostly positive. I didn’t notice any negatives for PC version either.

Today my game was freezing for 2 sec every 5 sec all the time. When i pressed start IT was fine, ps5 menu fine, only gameplay. I needed to restart ps5

Judging by Twitter and the number of former PES players currently playing FIFA 22, including well known streamers like TheTrueBrits, I can't imagine things having turned out any worse for Konami. They rushed out this release to get out there before FIFA and yet due to the state of what they put out it's almost like more people are jumping ship than if they had released nothing at all

People must be shaking their heads when I say, I like to read those pitch notes. Like a nerd.
and just having something to read in detail regarding something I really like, is awesome. :D

EA takes the time to go in detail here and I’m not used to that. Really a (nerdy) blessing. :)

One thing I did notice after playing one game on Stadia with the patch is that the 1080p resolution is much better than before. It's not as blurry. Good news!
Can you not get 4k on Stadia?
Why nobody whines about EA neglecting the 5-subs and VAR for the second year in a row? Ok, VAR is a minor thing relative to the game, but the correct number of subs in different tournaments in career mode is a must. And even in UT (I dunno, don't play it) it can be a gamechanger, when you develop your team and will be able to use more players from the bench. EA sucks
Id hate to see Var introduced. I hate it in real life and id hate it in any football games.

Didnt the 5 subs get dropped this season?
