FIFA 22 Discussion (Console Versions)

As I just can’t stop the testing, I read your comment and had to tinker with the variables. I did change the power bar from 65 to 60 and had a look at the shots and how they behave.
Bare in mind - I never tested any of this in F22. The issue with overshooting I had was on earlier Fifas.
Now Im just used to Power Bar at 55/60 and holding a button tiny bit longer, so I never really go any higher.

What team you using? I might play a Brentford save.
I’m playing GIRONA for now. I needed some change after all those career mode season matches in FIFA 16 where i only choose British teams.

got ya. But it’s the testing part I’m really into. Wish I could provide more detailed feedback, if only my English knowledge was able to translate that.

btw: is anyone discording this weekend? I wanna express myself. :D

That's another reason I would find the change to FIFA very difficult. In PES, you can play as a team, get promoted/relegated, play domestic/international cups, etc. without having to play a stupid career mode.

I'm a little confused. Is there a mode in PES in which you can play seasons with domestic and international competition but without transfers etc?

League Mode. But i really think it was the basis of the ML structure. As it's exactly the same system without transfers and all the rest.
I don't remember since when it's like that. It wasn't before a certain version i don't know. Well i don't care.

Ok, so the teams that have the attacking tactics on Slow build up + Possession tend to play the most annoying type of football, in which they always go to the sides and never cross the ball. To counter this, I edited some of the team sheets not to use this combination, but also, very important, turned off the live form.
This seemed to make the attacking AI much more varied.
I hope it's not placebo, but can someone else try this?

One question guys, on fifa so you notice if certain players are good at passing especially long range compared to the average player. Such as de bryne, kroos and jorginho?

Definitely, even more so if you play on manual passing, which I highly recommend. It adds a huge element to the game. Each to their own, but I consider it the only way to play it. I wish more people tried manual controls. They would end up having so much more fun!

So... the series X | S is not on the EA Play playlist, only the Xbox One version. So is all the hype about Hypermotion confirmed? Does it live up, kinda, maybe?

Even on manual I feel like players with mid to high 80s long passing can effortlessly hit those diagonals. You could probably do it with most players, but those with the relevant stats still stand out to me in terms of their ability.

I play manual passing on pes. It is tempting. And also, in regards to physicality. Do you notice a difference in using big strong players Lukaku, pique when holding off other players on the ball?
Do different teams play different?
I've got pes with klashmans tactics so just wondering what the ai is like.

Not sure what do you mean.
I have gamepass ultimate and that gives me access to EA playtest and I found next gen version no problem.
Just had to go to my apps and games and search from there, in Full Library.

I'm enjoying this too much. That's a few days on the bounce I've been up till 4am.That old PES feeling of 'just one more game' is there! People keep mentioning the dreaded first patch. When does that happen? This is a great sim, even with its typical 'Fifa style' issues (inertia, animations, body positioning when passing, weight of the ball etc - although ball physics are much improved )

I really hope they don't speed it up or God forbid, bring back overpowered skill moves. Not even Maradona would do 3 skill moves in a row and put it in the top corner 🤣

I know most of you play offline and I'll eventually use the sliders (and perhaps switch to FUMA for career mode) but even online on seasons, it is an absolute blast. My Milan are undefeated in 15 now. Using Zlatan to hold it up, Brahimi in between the lines, Rebic and Saelekmakers for width and quick counters, Kessie as a powerhouse box to box midfielder. Great fun and lots of new different goals scored, unlike the same ones I used to score on PES2021. The team shape and movement is also top drawer. Very intelligent runs whether it's Kessie with the third man run, Hernandez with the overlap, or Zlatan coming deep to knit play as a winger goes in behind.

The game rewards a football brain and fucks those who spam sprint, try to chain dribble moves, or dive in when defending! Long may that last.

Are manual passes affected by stats (aside of first touches)? Until now, i can't see a difference. But I am testing with low teams and no one really shines on passing stats.

Zlatan is an absolute beast, as he should be.

This is such an Ibra goal, I grinned. Wasn't the greatest ball, but he made something out of nothing with his physical presence. Medel stood no chance.

can anybody recommend a good set of sliders for this game on ps5?

my first fifa in a while, just made the switch from pes after trying out fuma on pes and enjoyed it so id love to try it on fifa hence efootball is shit lol

Have they updated this game on the fly? I know last gen they were supposed to be able to do it but ended up they couldnt... Reason i ask is i swear the game feels alot worse than what i played on Friday and the trial... It now feels much more Fifa 'ish and i swear the amazing animations have been paired back.

Anyone else feeling this or am i tripping?

They want wins, not fun! ;) kidding here, each to his own but I encourage people to at least give full manual a try.

I’m so glad EA decided you can have fun all over the pitch, not only in a 5 meter radius. :D

Hey M, whats your TV connected to the Series S? 4K or FHD? How do you run FIFA?
I have no clue about upscaling or downsampling on Xbox yet, but I know that 1440P content on PC is looking “not so good“ on my 4K 55 inch.
Edit: had a read on the tech stuff. So the S is rendering in 1440p max but upscaling and outputting 4K (If TV supports it).

Its Samsung 4K QLED.
Im glad you found all the answers to your questions yourself, coz I havent got a fucking clue about any of these things!
To me it either looks good, or it doesnt.
In this case - it looks good, so Im happy.

Be careful with those sliders.... I used to use their sliders many years ago and it used to break the game/make it go weird. They were just to mental for the game to comprehend and loads of wierd shit used to happen that did not happen in the vanilla game.
Got the same experience twice, that's another reason i... Fear sliders lol. But there's sometimes on the thread some alternatives.
The overall feeling was so weird. Attractive visually, but in term of gameplay, it was the weirdest sensation i gotted. It was on FIFA 16 then on FIFA 19.
And not "at launch" sliders, but it was an advanced version of it.
But i think i tried on FIFA 15 and this was at the middle of the game (so let's imagine, February) and it worked once, pretty well. After, i prefers even vanilla FIFA 14 than FIFA 15 with sliders so... But it became playable.

But yes, on single slider point can mess up at least one big part of the game (not the game entirely). FTM they're trying, and they just got the beta to found it.
Probably later there will be more, let's say, "safe" sliders. ATM i don't want too much to touch it. On slow and not Exhibition match, the game is playable.

I agree.

I don’t mean to cause offence here - but I really don’t see how OS sliders improve the game? They always seem to break the game and make it to too easy for me.

Sprint speed at 5 is very weird. No injuries with setting at 50. Just doesn’t feel right.

The guys over there work hard trying to ‘fix’ FIFA every year and big respect but they just end up breaking it. FIFA 22 only needs a very small tweak here and there.

This is something I learned through the years: sliders aren't a solution for me personally. I love the work that is spend in the different sets, especially in the OS set but I totally agree with you that the game become easier with them. Of course it's more realistic but I want to have a challenge and this is something I don't get with a turned down AI.

So at the end I'm playing now on legendary level with default sliders, cursing a lot if the AI is scoring an almost impossible goal but at the end I still have enough fun.

Agree mate, I’m also on Legendary and default sliders except injuries - very challenging and enjoyable. With OS Sliders everything felt, like you say, too easy and it dumbs down the AI.

Speaking of injuries. Whats the best sliders that reflect reality? I have played half a season with default sliders and have only had one minor injury.
90 frequency and 40-50 severity is the sweet spot for me. Anything less and I very rarely get injuries - it’s been this way for years I think.
