FIFA 17 News & Discussion Thread

I turn commentators off and let the atmosphere shine though. They have the sound of the crowd when a goals scored to perfection.
I like that it's not instant, it's not instant full-volume celebration from the crowd - there's the slightest "is it definitely a goal" gap before it kicks in.

Got to say - well, I did say this in the FIFA 16 thread at the time, because it happened to me - when you score a last-minute goal that gets you through World Cup qualification, and the crowd's reaction is "yay woo" instead of "YEAARRGGHH", it takes you right out of the moment and sucks all the joy out of goalscoring. Sounds like they've worked on that now, at least.

Still love the English commentary personally, even if some of it definitely could use an update.

The winning a penalty crowd reaction is way too fast, the crowd roars to celebrate winning a penalty before the ref has even whistled!

One of the moments that made me smile was playing against Real Madrid online and although I lost 3-1, the stadium tannoy played the "madrid...madrid...madrid...madriiiiid" tune :)

Reminded me of being in the bernabau.

I really do wonder what FIFA will be like 10 years from now with the technology and resources available to EA?

It will probably look and sound like real football on Sky Sports.

The repetition in the commentary really doing my head in now. Really don't want to turn it off but might just have to...

Didn't think you could anymore. I know in older fifa's it was possible but don't think you can now. Might try some European commentary and get some goooaaallllll commentary going on..... When I score that is lol

Has anyone found a way to get CDMs to stay back when attacking? The instruction of that name seems to do nothing and it's really starting to bug me.

1. Check his attack versus defend work rate, you may have to switch to a DMF with a low or medium attack rate. 2. Use d-pad tactics to instruct players to play defensively. 3. Lower line sliders to force defenders to come back to defend and to not push forward when attacking. 4. Edit the formation; use a defensive formation, and manually adjust the DMF so he is positioned as far back as he will go.

Premier League scoreboard will be brought into the game in upcoming update which will be released around 20th of September 2017. :)

I hope players faces/hair gets an update. James Collins don't have a beard and Sturridge and Countihno have 3 year old haircuts.
City's keeper bravo looks nothing like him neither does Karius of Lfc

Yeah i'm really disappointed they haven't updated Coutinho especially. It's staggering how they overlook key players, butcher Bales face and leave a lot top class players from around Europe and the World with generic faces.

I expect better from the officially licensed game. PES nails it not only in player likenesses but also the volume of players and the range of teams that have likenesses.

It seems breakthroughs are being made now in modding the PC version so we can get EPL authenticity very soon hopefully, more important IMO is fixing the generic Brazilians teams.

Don't lie...

You just want the game modded so you can put your Sheff Wed faces back in the game.

Is the final game also crashing randomly like the demo does?
Demo: never crashed for me.
Full game: has never crashed for me.
Sounds like an issue on your end: graphics card, memory, over-heating, etc.

EDIT: Whoops, not the PC thread, I get mixed up all the time lol.

It seems La Liga scoreboards are also coming in that patch, great news if true.

Good afternoon guys.

As always, patience is the mother of science.

After informing your suggestions to the study of FIFA, they have been added official markers for Santander League and Barclays Premier League for the last update.

A greeting.

DO NOT believe this guys ;) None of EA Sports representatives would call the current Premier League as a BARCLAYS Premier League again. Someone just failed it unnecesarily trying to take a role of EA's guy.

As I have mentioned before in previous posts - EA are not planning to add any of graphical feature into the game this year. Do not wait for it as you can get yourself disappointed again.

It is going to be updated for FIFA 18 and hailed as a new, innovative feature! : )

If the scoreboard feature is updated then fine, as for it being put in Fifa 18 and being referred to as an innovative feature nah mate your not funny!

I answered you in another post. And then I got interested in your question, so I went ahead and tried the suggestions I posted, experimenting with a CPU team. But I didn't see much change, so I tried a modding discovery I came across a couple years back. Positioning to a large degree is coded to player position. CBs for example are coded to stay back. So I replaced my wandering DMF with a CB and saw an immediate change in his positioning behavior. He most definitely stopped running up the pitch when his team attacked, and instead hung around the midfield area most of the time.

Interesting! I'll give that a try tonight. Thanks for the tip!
